CHARACTER BIO
NAME: Arcane
RACE: Android
AGE: 27
GENDER: Female
HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 186cm / 180lbs
APPEARANCE:
Arcane is a rather unconventional model lacking a rather large amount of human features. Her face is nothing more than a slate of a platinum coloured metal, with two small slits where eyes would be. These slits constantly glow a unearthly blue, whenever she is “Awake”. The rest of her head is a smooth steel like metal. Abundant of large tube like wires run from the back of her head, running half way down her back, forming dreadlocks like “hairs”. These tubes contain small slits of what appear to be a see through like material, which glow instantly whenever Arcane is using energy attacks. On the ending of these “hairs” are small Tesla like coils.
Her body is slim, consisting of those same platinum coloured plates. The joints of her elbows and knees consists of a ball like join with a small glowing blue ring encompassing it. The same type of rings appear on the palms of her hands, with vein like lines travelling up the flats of her fingers. Despite her form not resembling either gender, besides a slight feminine touch to her figure, she still refers to herself as a female.
MOTIVATIONS:
Androids were made for a purpose, maybe it was to kill, maybe it was to protect like those of CapsulCorp. Yet for Arcane, there is nothing but an empty feeling of purpose. Not to say she hates life, but with every dent made to her head she doesn't remember much of it. In reality she just wishes to revisit her past, not to experience it again but to remember it. There is an empty feeling within the back of her mind as if something isn’t there any more, for she could remember being an android but she could not remember the face of her creator or the environment where she was “born”.
Because of this her one true purpose, as she believes it, is to rediscover the past, find out how and where she was formed, and for what reason. She does not wish to rule the world or become a hero of legends, she just wishes to find herself, and if anyone was to her oppose her in this quest, they would surely be met with retaliation
QUIRKS:
Something has gone wrong in Arcane’s head, a glitch of sorts that occurs in times of intense battle or stressful situations. A “kill mode” of sorts, some would call it blood-lust, however it only occurs after specific stimulus, such as being knocked in the head, a heavy beat down to her frame or even placing her allies in danger. When within this “kill mode” Arcane becomes unresponsive, attacking the first living object she sees, friend or foe.
Despite this rather terrifying set back, she can be knocked out of it by either “re-jigging” her head by knocking it in a few times or by simply knocking her out. When not wishing to kill every creature around her, she is a rather quiet if not clueless soul. Curious about the world and without fear to ask any question, she could get herself into trouble quite a lot.
Although this personality seems to shift quite a lot when in the heat of battle, rather than being quiet and clueless, she is loud and abrasive throwing out insults and challenges to all who even dare step in her way when she is aiming for something.
BONDS:
Although her mind is foggy and lacking sufficient data, she may not be able to picture her creators face, but instead the simple outline of a man, ever since then her friends have been few and scarce as Arcane tends to keep on moving from place to place. Making whatever bonds she would have short lived or but a distant memory in people's minds.
BACKSTORY:
In reality, Jessica was never always an android. Instead she was once a young women who lived a rather normal life a contempt one with a happy family, a fiancé, friends. Although for a lot of our heroes these stories don’t always turn out to have an happy ending. Before the earth was thrown into real turmoil in the past three years, tragedy stuck for Jessica. The Big Red Army, looking to test their waters in newer technologies, before their grand attacks sought out Jessica. At this time she was nothing but a simple young woman, no one of importance would of noticed if she was gone. She was the perfect test.
Taken away, kidnapped and strapped up, Jessica was one of the first and hopefully one of the last of those kidnapped to be turned into weapons. Experiment after experiment she was reduced of her human form, metal substitutes placed in for any loss until she became nothing more than a frame. An armoured skeleton.
When finally activated for her new purpose, she wasn't complainant, far more brash and defiant, despite her mind being reprogrammed for their own use. Whatever was lying inside her, it kept a part of her old self, just enough to stand up against her captors, and now with a new, stronger body, able to escape. Although not without injuries. The battle to freedom was rather swift, yet that didn't mean she got out without any injuries. In the ensuing chaos, she had her head beat by one of the guards, which in turn activated some sort of blood-lust in her. Stopping she killed the man without a second thought, before suddenly snapping out of it.
Running far from her captors, her feet sinking into the damp earth as the shouts of angry men rung out into the air behind her, she eventually found herself lost within the bamboo forests of East City. Her memory of her past self was fading she could feel it, as her vision began to flicker in and out. The blue lights surrounding the palm of her hands dimming with each passing moment. Before eventually she fell unconscious.
Days later her body flickered back to life, and Arcane opened her eyes for the first time. Tall shoots surrounded her, and as she pushed herself to her feet she found this compelling force surrounding her, telling her to move forward, and with no other guidance she did so, wandering the earth, clueless and wanting to learn.
CALL TO ACTION:
Wandering the Earth for a while, relearning everything there was about the world from multiple people before moving onto the next area, she felt this hollowness in the back of her mind, as if something was missing. Spending days pondering on the idea, she finally came to the conclusion that her past was nothing more than a fog. With her curiosity peaked about herself for that matter, she set out, determined to find out what she was and where she really was from.
