It would be a red day for the world of Styx when the demon Amatricina laid eyes upon the world. Her small fleet arrived out of warp, slipping into the planet's gravity well. It was a modest strike force at best, she had requested no more than what she believed Emperor Carambolis would offer her. One battleship and an escort force of cruisers, frigates, and a picket line of destroyers and corvettes. Just over a dozen ships in total, though she would have little need of them. This fight was hers alone. Cam had told her of this world when she had struck a deal with the man aboard his vast flagship, the Omnipotence. He had even offered her the position of governor of this world, though she had politely declined. As the fleet drew closer, Amatricina could understand why. The world of Styx was red and rotted, like a crimson gem seething with hate that hung in the sky by its own malice. She found it beautiful, in a way she thought her own molten gem of a home world beautiful. However, the demoness had been loath to accept the gift. In her black heart burned the fires of conquest, avarice and wrath among her deepest sins. But pragmatism had won out over eagerness. She had no means by which to rule this world, cut off and isolated from both her realm and her clan. Instead, she would merely return it to its rightful owners. The Crusher Corps was a name that until days ago had meant utterly nothing to the demon. Now, it was the closest thing she had to allies in this realm. She had struck a bargain with Carambolis. Her assistance in bloodlessly claiming the planet earth, in exchange he offered her assistance in locating the Dragonballs and furthering her own boundless lust for power. The concerns of the mortals and their petty political machinations were beyond the demon's interests. To her the Mortal Realm was little better than a stepping stone to her penultimate goals. However, she had made something of a compromise as to the world she had been offered. The Kabochan ruler had explained how his race had once been enthralled into the the midst of the Demon Clan. When they finally bound their shackles of servitude and rose up to slay their demonic masters, it had left a lasting impression on Kabochan society. Their kind treated demons with a mixture of fear and loathing, and this world of Styx was a bit of a black mark in their burgeoning empire. Amatricina had offered the Emperor her services, for the world help one resource she could make use of. Demons, even now the planet teemed with members of her kind. They had served a demon warlord once, a close ally of Carambolis. She had already forgotten the demon's name, but they had been bested, killed or driven back to the Demon Realm in exile. Now their demonic forces were leaderless and scattered. These ramble, lesser demons who were now without clan or warlord were ideal fodder for the lower castes of Amatricina's own clan's armies. They would serve as excellent as slaves and expendable warriors, toiling in the mines or serving on the front lines until they drew their last breaths. The demoness had doubts they would no come willingly, any demon hiding in the mortal realm for so long was either an exile from a clan, or never had one to begin with. No matter, all would succumb to her rule in time or be slain for resisting her forces. Carambolis had made one point clear, he did not wish significant losses to the non-demonic populaces of the planet. Amatricina had every intention of leaving the world and its populations in a serviceable state afterwards. The despoiled planet could then we repurposed for... whatever it was the Emperor deemed necessary of it. As the fleet came into position over the planet's surface, Amatricina looked out over the helm of her capital ship's bridge. She had been given a predominately Saiyan crewed vessel for her command vessel, the Fist of Vengeance, an aptly fitting Saiyan name for a ship she was sure. The demoness casually motioned to one of her bridge crew. "The communication device, I wish to address the denizens of this world on all frequencies." Her communications officer nodded, handing her a headset with an attached microphone. "As you will... Ma'am." The Saiyan warriors did not properly know how to address the demon. She did not have a military rank or designation, and deigned to associate herself with their primitive military hierarchy. So long as they showed respect to her authority, she was happy enough with her subordinates. "Excellent." She replied, grimacing as she realized the headset would not fit properly on her head given her thick crown of horns. She opted to simply hold the microphone to her mouth instead. "Broadcasting on all open frequencies." The officer added, looking at a bank of monitors and screens. "Attention, future warriors of the Fire Demon Clan." Amatricina said, her tone heavy with the weight of authority and cold intent. "For too long this world, Styx has been lawless and leaderless. It is a disgrace to the unity of the Crusher Corps, and the Will of the Kabochan Emperor. I, Amatricina, Warlord of the Fire Demon Clans have been brought here to be his blazing sword and iron fist. All demonic beings who hold their lives and their allegiance to the Crusher Corps dear, I order you to mass in the major population centers for processing and transportation. Those of you not of demonic blood, I am not your foe, and you have little to fear of my wrath. Remain in your homes, seek shelter, and do not attempt to harbor your demonic brethren, those who do so will join them in their fate. And I promise you, Mortals, you will not survive the horrors of my home realm."The demoness clicked off the microphone, smiling as she knew her words were echoing across every transmission capable decide in the system. She handed the headset back to its owner, crossing her arms across her heavy bust. "I want troops planet side immediately. Ground forces are to keep civilian and non-demonic casualties to a minimum, but I know Saiyan blood lust well." Amatricina turned and gestured to a star map, drawing her plans out with a finger. "Position the fleet in a blockade around the planet, have the cruisers Vigilance and Wrath jam all incoming communications not from the fleet. Have the Merciless and Unyielding jam all outgoing communications, I want this planet blind and deaf within the hour. Understood?"The bridge crew nodded in agreement. In her own realm Amatricina was every bit the strategist her father had needed her to be. Though fleet maneuvers were her brother Raigu's forte, she knew well enough how to choke out an enemy. "Lastly, I want all ships attempting to flee the planet shot down on sight. List them as combatants in the damage reports, I care little if the civilians ignore my orders and run." Her methods were to be brutal, in the Demon Realm insurrections were met with the harshest resistance. Amatricina would put this world to the torch herself if that was what was required. However, her strength had grown considerably since first venturing into the mortal realm. With every passing day she could feel more and more of her power returning, the result of slowly weening herself off the intoxicating influence of Dark Energy. It was a drug the demon was slowly learning to live without, though she craved the taste of its black power with each passing day. All the same, she reached out across the planet with her thoughts, sensing the power levels of the beings that resided there. None were capable of challenging her in single combat, unless they were suppressing their power level. And if they were, she relished the challenge. Amatricina made her way out of the bridge, pausing before she left. "Helmsman, you have the ship until I return. Maintain our orbit, I'm going to ground. I have no more precious things to do than watch my dogs work from a chair. I will corral these demons by my own hand." The officer nodded, electing not to speak up in the breach in protocol. Amatricina made her way to the hangar bay doors. Already dropships and scout pods were loading up with Saiyans and Kabochan warriors, as well as auxiliary troops of races the demon did not know. "You joining us Captain?" The deck chief called out over the roar of twin plasma engines. "Yes." Amatricina said simply, stretching her arms as a wicked grin crossed her face. "But I don't need a shuttle. I'll see your men planet side, tell them to try and keep up." With that the demon flared her ki, her aura of burning demonic energy pulsating outwards as she took off at lighting speed. She easily caught up to the first wave of dropships, blowing the piloting crew a kiss before soaring past them. Her curvaceous form hurtling towards the ground like a burning comet of malice. This would be fun, this little venture would hopefully provide the perfect opportunity to test her newfound strength.

To be completely honest, this week was not a good week.
The Dread Spectre shot through space. A modified Capsule Corp created war cruiser, originally purposed for pirate raids across the galaxy, meant to cripple and punch through the hulls of ships in order to board. Yet lately, the warship was not doing much raiding and plundering. Ever since the raid over Brench, where Captain Kamui Solaris had encountered Emperor Carambolis, Emperor of the Kabochan Confederacy and leader of the Crusher Corps, during an unfortunate raid on one of Cam's ships. Of course, the Changeling teenager had not been aware of the fact that he had been attacking a Crusher Corps vessel, and after jumping through seventeen hoops, Kamui had finally found the desire in him to ask Cam to join his forces, to which the Emperor agreed. Originally, Kamui was assigned the rank of Lieutenant within the organization, and was stationed to Planet Cane to assist the war effort. Yet, opportunities arose and Kamui had seized upon them, eager to capitalize upon the prospect of profit. Crusher Corps soldier or not, he was still a mercenary, and profit as a bounty hunter was still a great path for income.
However, Kamui had become overconfident. He had overstepped his bounds, had crossed a bridge he shouldn't have crossed, and he knew it. Vile. An A-Rank criminal marked with one of the biggest bounties out there. Kamui had left Commander Fritz in charge of his Crusher Corps soldiers and had taken a detour out there with his elites in tow to tackle the bounty for a little extra payoff. He knew the threat, he knew how dangerous Vile was reported to be. Yet, he was drunk off his own victory, believed himself capable of beating people much stronger than him. Believed his own speed to be his ticket to success. He believed it would only take him a few days to capture the quarry and return. Another dangerous criminal off the streets was a good thing, right? Vile had proven much too strong for any of his men to handle, and although Kamui had put up a valiant effort, it had proven too much for the young Frost Demon, and he was utterly defeated...
Despite all the odds stacked against him, he was still breathing. Still living. His soldiers had dragged responded to the scene, and had dragged the half destroyed, near dead Changeling from The Badlands, and into emergency care, with Sawbones, Kamui's personal doctor, at the foremost of the action. From there....she had moved to operate on him.
And here he was.
More machine than man at this point. A great deal of Kamui's body had been maimed beyond the point of no return, and as a result he had been emergency evac'd back to Planet Cane for medical care. The most painful surgical procedure of his life. A Cosmic Suit had been produced, combining the latest galactic technology with Kamui's own living tissue and natural Bio Suit, resulting in what could be considered a cybernetic skin, that happened to take up the great majority of Kamui's body. Extra additions were even made to enhance Kamui's mental capacity and physical capabilities with cybernetics, which resulted in a complete change on the man's part. A faster, smarter Changeling. A cross between robot and organic being. Mecha Kamui.
The surgery completed mere days ago, the Dread Spectre was preparing to make the jump to hyperspace to return to Planet Cane. However, the journey from the Badlands to Planet Cane was a strenuous one on fuel supplies, thus fuel and essentials were needed. With Kamui in recovery, Fritz, lead navigator of the vessel in periods of normalcy, took active control of the ship. They were originally supposed to make the jump to Planet Genesis, a friendly controlled planet, but the way in which they left the Badlands had made it so that Fritz would have to wrap around in order to head back in the direction of Genesis.
Their nearing Planet Styx was a matter of accidental circumstance. Nothing more, nothing less.
----------------------------------------------------
"It's okay sweetie...it's time to wake up...." Sawbones whispered as she passed by his rejuvenation tank.
Sawbones was the ship's medic. No one knew her actual name, for the term "Sawbones" was a street given title offered by the gang in which Kamui recruited her from several years prior. A brilliant doctor and surgeon, Sawbones hid her immense genius behind an airhead and bubbly persona, in which she usually used to playfully trick her friends into a false sense of security. She was also an innovative scientist, and was key to Kamui's continual survival with his new Cosmic Suit and cybernetic enhancements.
Punching a few commands into a computer, the medicinal liquid which filled the Changeling's rejuvenation tank began to drain, leaving the handicapped Changeling suspended in air by a few supporting straps. Opening the tank, Sawbones moved rather quickly to seize Kamui and help the crippled Frost Demon (who literally only had his center mass and head. Arms and Legs were both gone) to the examination table.
Gasping lightly as he awoke, Kamui grimaced as he choked out an order to Sawbones
"Get me...
"I know." She said as her droid attendants rushed to begin hooking Kamui's body to his mechanic Cosmic Suit, securing various parts to the various holes in his body, covering the entirety of his body in black cybernetic armor, with various prosthetic limbs being secured into place. Once secured, Kamui sat up, his metallic sounding voice booming through his voice modulator.
"Where are we now?"
"En route to Planet Genesis...but we're nearing Planet Styx, dear." Sawbones answered sweetly, her bubbly facade toned down in favor for her actual personality. To her, Kamui was still a child. A young teenager at nineteen, already with more battle scars then most had in their entire lives.
"Planet Styx...." Kamui repeated, as if in contemplation. He had heard very little of such a planet, besides being aware of its' existence. However, he was well aware of the Dread Spectre's depleting fuel reserves. Such a navigational problem could cost them severely if they decided to make the stretch to Planet Genesis from here.
"Bring me to Fritz."
Five Minutes later...
"Sir, with all due respect....are you sure about this? We have no databank information on Planet Styx. We have no idea what we're getting into..." Fritz said, looking unsure as his eyes flitted back and forth between the navigation droid officers who manned the computers on the bridge. The young Brench male meant no disrespect, Kamui knew that. He also knew his lack of confidence didn't come from a lack of faith in his commander, but more from the enigma that Planet Styx represented from them all. A mysterious planet with few data readings.
"Crusher Corps forces are making an effort to secure Planet Styx currently. We can rendezvous with present naval forces there. They could restock us." Zephyrus said, drawing near.
Zephyrus, a red skinned Xeno and a recent addition to Kamui's crew. Zephyrus was a loyal Crusher Corps Sergeant who had spent the majority of his young career in service of the Kabochan Confederacy. A calm strategist and an absolutely lethal warrior, Zephyrus impressed the Frost Demon Lieutenant rather quickly, swiftly eclipsing most of his other soldiers with a power level just above sixty thousand. Given Zephyrus's longer tenure of service, he served as a reliable source of information for Kamui, and as such Kamui had allowed the Xeno to thrive under him.
"Is that so?" Kamui pondered, a metallic hand reaching to stroke an equally metallic chin. After a few moments of contemplation, the Changeling had made his decision.
"Fritz, new destination set into play. Set course for Planet Styx. We will convene with Crusher Corps vessels already there, and make preparations to scout the planet for proper refueling sources."
"Yes, sir." Fritz said, not entirely convinced, but following the order nonetheless. Turning to his officers, the navigator soon found himself repeating the orders as well as coordinates to the crew, so they could set the course.
--------------------------------------------
It was beautiful. From a distance at least. Who knew what laid at the surface however. But from space, Planet Styx gave off a red glow that was near captivating. Had it been under other circumstances, Kamui would have just taken the time to study the scenery just a little longer.
Upon exiting hyperspace, the Lieutenant hadn't wasted much time providing the already present fleets with his ship designation as well as his identification information, marking the vessel as an official war cruiser under the Confederacy's flag. Rising from his Captain's Chair, Kamui gestured to Zephyrus, before his metallic feet began to clang against the floor as he made his way to the hangar bay
"Sergeant, with me. Perhaps they will like me more if you're around." The Changeling commented, commenting on a rather serious issue in a jest manner. The Lieutenant's popularity amongst the Crusher Corps personnel was mixed, at best. The raid on The Avarice was not forgotten, as well as The Liberator's destruction. Many Crusher Corps personnel had been killed on both raids orchestrated by Kamui's pirate crew, and the fact that the perpetrator to both crimes was now an ally amongst them was still a hard pill to swallow. There were still a great deal of people who believed that Kamui's fealty was merely an illusion, and the Changeling was just biding his time before trying to wipe Crusher Corps off the map.
They weren't wrong to have their reservations, but Kamui would soon gain their loyalty and respect. It would just take time. Nodding, Zephyrus followed his commander to the hangar bay. Grunting, the Frost Demon climbed into his personal starfighter, with Zephyrus doing the same.
"Here's to a safe trip...and to praying we don't die, commander." Zephyrus joked over the headset comm.
"People are gonna have to jump through quite a lot of hoops to kill me..." Kamui grunted as he revved the engines of his starfighter. As the pair shot out of the Dread Spectre and made way for the planet's surface, Kamui sent one last message to the other Crusher Corps vessels that stood suspended above Styx's surface.
"Alert your ground forces to my arrival. Lieutenant Kamui Solaris, Crusher Corps."

The dust plume from the impact crater could be seen for miles as it rose into the sky. Amatricina had hurtled into the ground at several times the speed of sound. A battery of planetary defense cannons had been her target, the huge weapon installations firing volley after volley of debilitating plasma fire at her dropships. The demoness deigned to call in bombardment, much fun as it would be to watch the fleet's heavy guns make the cinders glow. The damage to surrounding infrastructure would be too severe, and she did not want Carambolis to get the impression she was little better than a brute slinging around heavy ordinance where a more delicate touch would do. And by delicate, she meant several megatons of force plowing through battleship grade plating. Like a meteor the demon propelled herself deep into the center of the first cannon. Most of the weapon's crew died instantly from the blast as Amatricina's body met solid earth. The resulting crater was large enough the two neighboring cannons were ripped from their foundations, collapsing under their own weight as they began to sink into the pit. She looked up through the smoke and debris, smiling a wicked grin before her already fiery gaze began to glow bright red. Two twin lances of demonic ki fired forth, eye beams cutting through a collapsing cannon and the still erect one besides it like a hot knife through butter. Her blast met its mark as she cleaved through the rough center of the structure, hitting a reactor core or ammunition magazine causing a violent chain reaction. Soon enough all guns had fallen silent, and Amatricina looked up to the swarm of dropships descending towards the nearby cities and military installation. She reached into her deep valley of cleavage, retrieving the communication device the Emperor had given her before she left. A scouter they called it, a kind of curious mortal invention. They were rather convenient, acting as a recording device, ki scanner, and communications tool. The demoness clipped the device to her ear, brushing aside long locks of her ruby mane. A button press later and the device hummed to life, lighting up in the Kabochan language she could not actually read. She fumbled for a bit before finding the communication channel, opening a line to assault command. "The defense batteries north of your drop site are down commander. I'm moving ahead to take out perimeter defenses around the capital city, and chum the waters to see if I can draw out any worthwhile prey." Amatricina smiled as she spoke, hovering back into the air and surveying the carnage around her. What few personnel survived attempted to flee on foot or by flying off. She sensed their ki, and finding no demonic energy decided to spar them. If she was going to kill every gnat on this world that raised a hand to her she'd be here for weeks. Besides, Cam had ordered minimal casualties. There was a touch of static on her scouter, but soon the strike commander's voice came through. "Understood Ma'am, thanks for getting those guns off us. We're reading only 6.5% loses to flak batteries and anti-orbital fire. We'll be touching down planet side within the minute." The voice was that of an older Kabochan, likely the veteran of many a battle. He sounded uneasy speaking to the demon, though he was steeled for battle. "Excellent commander. I entrust you and your men know what to do." Amatricina replied, taking off and flying towards her next key target. "We won't let you down. For the Glory of the Confederacy!" The warrior shouted, she could hear his men hollering in the background as they psyched themselves up for combat. Amatricina flicked off the scouter, she had no desire to listen to the mortals screaming in her ear. "For the glory of me..." She said to herself, smirking as she moved on. Ahead of her a number of figures rose into the air, flying under the power of their own ki. An entire battalion of soldiers, sent in vain to try and stop her. They raised their hands, summoning their ki and firing a barrage of energy blasts the demons way. She furrowed her brow, moving rapidly weaving between their volley causing most blasts to miss. Burning demonic energy rose like a lump in the fire demon's throat, and she opened her mouth wide before unleashing a thick beam of energy that swathed through the men. Some managed to get out of the way, others being obliterated on contact unable to escape. Other, yet more foolish soldiers tried to raise defensive barriers in time and succeeded only in delaying their deaths by mere moments. Those that survived had only moments to react before the demon was upon them. The first soldier met the rush of her knee driving deep into his chest. He gasped in pain, the air knocked from his lungs as every rib shattered. Amatricina grinned, raising both arms over her head and slamming them down on the more fool from above. "Vermin..." She whispered, sending his broken body plummeting towards the ground. Another soldier tried to land a cheap shot on the side of her head, the demon's eyes looked left then her body flickered out of sight. The attack struck only air and she appeared behind the unwitting fool. "Too slow!" She yelled out in elation, delivering a savage kick to the soldier's side and practically breaking him in half. This was no fight, it was a slaughter, and she was enjoying every second of it. Two more warriors fell, both pieced through the chest by a quick eye laser blast. A third summoned his strength and blasted Amatricina point blast with a large green energy blast. She smiled and headbutted him as she stood unphased in his attack. The sound of her horns shattering his skull was only slightly less sickening than her following up by punching his comrade clean through the chest and then opening her fist to blast the soldiers behind him with a ruby flash of energy. It took only seconds, but the hundred strong force was no more, slaughtered before the demon before she continued on her path. Meanwhile in low orbit the Crusher Corps fleet was slightly on edge. They'd detected an unknown vessel appear in system, large enough to be a modest warship. Initial thoughts were an Imperial reconnaissance ship, or pirates come to what they thought was a safe haven. "Sir, something just came up on scanners. It's moving fast towards the system." A petty officer said as he notified the interim captain of the battleship. The helmsman rubbed at his white beard, pointing to the monitors. "Put it on screen." He commanded, and the display flickered to life showing the scan readings and bearings of the unknown vessel. "Hmm. I don't like this, communications patch me through to the demon. She will want to hear about this." He did like like saying those words, but he feared the fiery woman's wrath more if he didn't tell her than if he handled matters appropriately on his own accord. "Wait, sir, we're receiving incoming transmissions from the unknown vessel." The communications officer noted with great excitement in her voice. "He claims to be Lieutenant Kamui Solaris, operating under Crusher Corps authority." The helmsman seemed surprised, rubbing at the bridge of his nose and groaning under his breath. "Crusher Corps? I've never heard of a Kamui Solaris, run is information through the database." There was a moment of pause as an ensign furiously typed away at his terminal. His face went flush and he sputtered out his words. "Our reports say Kamui is responsible for numerous raids on Kabochan military vessels, and is charged by the Confederacy of multiple accounts of destruction of military designation warships." "What!?" The helmsman said, slamming his fist on his armrest. "Check his authentication codes, there's no way he's a legitimate Crusher Corps vessel, he's spoofing their transponder codes and taking us for fools!" "All encryption codes and hailing frequencies are current sir." Communications added, looking puzzlingly at her screen. "He requests us to alert our ground forces. Should I notify Amatricina?" The elder Kabochan sat in his command chair, brooding. He would not let three tours of duty and a shot at a rear admiral position fall apart because he let a wanted pirate slip past them. But at the same time, he feared the demoness' wrath more than he feared losing that high command pension. If she deemed it so she might simply kill him before they returned home. "Patch the message through, let the demon sort this mess out." He finally said, deciding to wash his hands of it. He was only following protocol to the best of his ability. Hopefully the admiralty would understand. Amatricina was running her fist through a reactor core, super heating the machine and beginning a meltdown sequence when her scouter began to beep. "Impeccable timing.." She groaned, spreading her arms wide and sheathing herself in a barrier of crimson ki as the power planet went into meltdown, discharging a massive blast of heat and energy that was sure to wipe the entire installation of the face of the planet. When the dust settled there was only a molten hellscape of twisted debris and wreckage around her as the demon lowered her guard. She tapped the button on the side of her scouter, opening the communication frequency to her flagship. "Yes? What is it, you caught me in the middle of something." She had little time for military formalities. "Ma'am." The helmsman spoke as he swallowed the lump in his throat. "Lieutenant Kamui Solaris of the Crusher Corps is on approach, how are we to respond?" The demoness shook her head, puzzled over the name and organization she'd been given. Both meant nothing to her, they were as alien to her as the symbols flashing on the device's screen. "Crusher Corps? And who is this Kamui Solaris?" She said, her gaze turning back westward towards the capital. The helmsman was shocked, was the demon this ignorant? Where had the Emperor found her, and how and why had he recruited her to his cause. "Ma'am, Amatricina. You are part of the Crusher Corps. They are a military element within the Kabochan Confederacy." Amatricina shrugged, though no one was around to see it besides herself. "I was unaware, my deal is with your Emperor. I'm not part of his little military divisions. Regardless, if this Lieutenant is supposed to be of my military force then so be it. Relay a message to him, he is under my direct command so long as he remains within this star system. Have his vessel join the picket line, adjacent the flagship in case it tries anything funny. Fire upon it immediately if it ignores my order. And do tell the man I am in the middle of an invasion, give him my personal communication channel and current heading. I will speak to him after I have pacified this city, Understood?" The demon spoke curtly, dashing into the air and flying towards the towering spires of Styx' capital city. It loomed in the distance, already the heavy ground battle could be seen as blaster fire and energy waves flew back and forth between the attacking forces. "Yes Ma'am, I will relay the message at once." The helmsman said, before she closed communications with him. He groaned aloud, slamming down his fist. "Damn demon thinks she owns the place. Fine. Patch her message through to the Crusher Corps ship, and bring this ship about..."

"And if you question our credentials again I will reach through this headset and stab a syringe into your tongue!" Sawbones yelled vehemently into the microphone headset that linked her to the other Crusher Corps ships in orbit. After Kamui and Zephyrus's departure from the ship, the ship medic had made one of her rare trips outside of the medical bay, and wandered her way to the bridge, in which she had arrived just in time to hear one of the Crusher Corps ensigns question the authenticity of their credentials. Before Fritz could even dispute such insane claims, Sawbones had marched her way up to the top of the bridge and seized the headset from Fritz, placing it over own head. And here we were at the present moment.
"If you don't know Lord Kamui joined the Crusher Corps, you obviously aren't important enough to be aware. So, if I even see warships looming in our direction, ready to fire...we're going to have a problem. Got it?" Sawbones finished, slamming the headset down on a nearby console.
Fritz merely raised an eyebrow at the Heran woman. It was surprising enough to see Sawbones emerge from her woman cave, otherwise known as the medical bay. Usually, she worked, ate and slept there for days on end, only emerging every now and then to grab a bite to eat when they landed on a planet, before going right back to the Medical Bay. Now, she not only left the medical bay, but just yelled at a Crusher Corps officer. Unlike Sawbones, the Brench Navigator was rather calm about being yelled at. They were new officers, and their reputation prior to joining the Confederacy was rather....well, let's just say it was right for the Crusher Corps officers to have their reservations.
"I had that under control, Bones." Fritz said, releasing a sigh as he looked towards the computer console that Sawbones slammed the headset down on.
"What brought you out here, anyway? You typically don't venture out so...so far from your little cubicle."
Sawbones's ears perked up at that, a noticeable twitch present in them as she turned on Fritz," So I can't leave my medical bay whenever I fucking feel like it? Huh?! Fuck you, Fritz!" She snapped in a sudden (and rather dramatic manner), causing the Brench Officer to throw his hands up in a sign of surrender.
"Shit, I'm sorry." Fritz said, deciding it is best not to argue with the woman.
Sawbones sighed lightly, before looking to Fritz," I came here because I'm worried about the Commander. He...he's not the same. The battle with Vile scarred him significantly psychologically. He thought..he thought that he held power beyond most. That even if his opponent held a raw power considerably higher than his, that he could persevere and dominate. That even if he couldn't win, he'd make sure his opponent had a hard time defeating him. But Kamui was dominated in all avenues. An opponent who was faster than he was, stronger than he was, was able to shrug away his attacks as if it were nothing. The frustration of it all....it changed him. Kamui's power level skyrocketed by a degree more then I could have comprehended possible. It's..frightening. I could also see a change in his demeanor. He is quieter....more brooding. "
"You think...."
"He's breaking..." Sawbones said, before a beeping sound erupted from the mic headset on the console, hinting another incoming transmission. Fritz made a move to reach for it, but unfortunately Sawbones got to it faster.
WHAT DO YOU WANT MOTHERFUCKER?!"
---------------------------------------
"And as per order of Lady Amatricina, you and your vessel must join the invasion effort on Planet Styx. Lady Amatricina provides for you her personal communication and will speak to you once she finishes her current battle."
Bitch, what?
Five seconds into joining the Crusher Corps and he was being commanded around by various bigwigs in the Crusher Corps who thought they could command him around? Hell, he didn't even know this "Amatricina" nor did he know her rank. But what he did know, was there was no way he was fighting a war on this godforsaken planet. He had fuel to acquire, and if that meant he had to fly back up to his motherfucking ship and speed his way to Genesis, then so be it. However, he had priorities of his own. After all, the Emperor himself had assigned him to assist in the Planet Cane war effort. And he was going to do that. Not stuck on some Planet Styx bullshit in the South Quadrant.
And hell, if they tried to threaten the destruction of his ship if he didn't cooperate....well, that was simply an excuse to show the Crusher Corps one more time just who he was, and that he wasn't a man to mess with. Whether he was enlisted in the force or not, he wasn't a lap dog for everyone to call for. His allegiance was more out of respect for Emperor Carambolis as a person, and a desire to study him more. He was willing to cooperate for the man's cause, but the cyborg Changeling's respect for the rest of Cam's men was something that had yet to be earned.
"Commander, you hear that?" Zephyrus comm'd in from his starfighter as they began to near the surface.
"People are back on their bullshit. I don't miss being under someone's command." Kamui muttered under his breath as he veered his ship to the right, looking for a nice little clearing for the both of them to land their shuttles. As Kamui and Zephyrus moved to climb out, the pair almost immediately became aware of the explosions and the rather large plumes of smoke erupting in the distance, the dark clouds giving the appearance of a mushroom in the sky.
"Hostiles nearby." Zephyrus confirmed, his visor scouter lighting up, in which Kamui's built in detection system responded a moment later in the same manner. There were many lifeforms nearby, but it seemed that the most power fluctuations were coming from an area north of where they were currently, which was most likely where all the action is. Kamui's HUD soon brought up distance calculations and projected ETAs based on previous travel speed averages.
Slowly, the Frost Demon began to rise in the air, followed by Sergeant Zephyrus. A moment later, they were rocketing towards the scene of the action. He figured he would at least help his fellow soldiers secure whatever area they were all fighting over, get his fuel and then leave this planet. But first, politely explain his intention to the commander of these armed forces, whose communication channel was already provided to him by the Helmsman of one of the other Crusher Corps vessels.
His cybernetic systems automatically creating a link upon Kamui's mere thought of communicating with Amatricina, he created a closed channel between himself and the Fire Demon's scouter.
"Yo, Lieutenant Kamui Solaris, here. As much as I love the fact that you're taking over this planet and everything, the crew of the Dread Spectre is merely here for supplies and refueling from nearby local stations. We are not staying to fight extended wars. But, because I'm nice, I'll help you this one time. We have no intention of joining this war effort. Thank you for understanding, and I will be there momentarily. Ta-ta!" The Frost Demon spoke, ending on a high note before terminating the communication link between them.
Several minutes later, a rather large energy discharge coming from a point near to the Styx capital city would alert Amatricina to the Lieutenant's arrival, as the Frost Demon allowed himself a single shot at a team of planet defenders, the likes of which were soon eliminated by the cyborg with a Finger Beam that detonated upon making contact with the ground, sending shockwaves rippling through the force, knocking them down.
"I've never been apart of an invasion before. Is this how the Confederacy truly operates?"

The bridge crew of the flagship Relentless were stunned when the xeno woman came screaming over their comm lines. Not only was her attitude and obscenities an extreme breach of military protocol but she had to gall to dare and threaten ships of the Kabochan Confederacy? The helmsman would have opened fire on her... if he still had the authority to do so. Despite complaints from his communications officer he deemed they would both hold their fire, and fail to report this particular communication relay back to their demonic overseer. The elder Kabochan soldier was confident he would draw his last breath this day if he did so. However what he had already begun doing was writing a sternly written letter to the admiralty board about the unorthodox methodology employed on this particular mission. The man was already having an ensign type up his report as he dictated it to them, even as his vessel's broadside cannons came within their firing arc of the smaller Crusher Corps vessel. Meanwhile on the ground Amatricina was spear heading the offensive against the capital city, unironically acting as a fire suppressant, moving from one front to another clearing out pockets of resistance that we slowing down her troops. The Confederacy's soldiers were well trained, she'd give them that much. But what they had in strict discipline they lacked in savage fury, save for some of the Saiyan auxiliary forces. Their inflexibility made them vulnerable to the sporadic and aggressive retaliation the loosely coordinated defenders could muster. It was a ceaseless task rescuing soldiers who's adherence to doctrine routinely got them into poor tactical situations. Were they her own soldiers, she'd have left their survival in the hands of their acting general. But since she was the highest ranking official and strongest warrior of their forces, the task fell sorely on her. Moreover, the demoness did not want these grunts crying to their master about how the mean fire demon had abandoned them on the battlefield to pursue her own motives. It came as a surprise when her scouter beeped to alert her of an incoming communication. She was busy breaking the back of an enemy garrison, literally. The garrison commander was the only one among his men who even posed a challenge to the demon. After a brief clash among the city spires, Amatricina had hurled the warrior through a building and meteor smashed him through an armored bunker. She was busy smashing the combatant over her knee as the obnoxious device began to beep. Amatricina bought the garrison commander down hard, a sickening crunch as his armor shattered and his spine snapped in two. He was still wheezing his last desperate gasps of air as she cast him aside. The fire demon turned away, listening to the message as she raised her other hand and nonchalantly executed the dying warrior with a ruby ki blast. She scoffed at the words she was hearing, these mortals never seemed to have any respect. Worse, the soldier closed communications before she could reply. Her scouter seemed unable to reconnect with him, she assumed he was blocking all incoming communications. "So be it.." She said flatly, turning to fly back towards the ranks of her advancing troops. The demoness took the foremost position, slashing aside a large energy blast headed for her like it was nothing. It careened into a building and detonated violently, and the demon responded by opening her mouth wide and sweeping a deadly mouth energy wave through the enemy forces. "Their morale is wavering..." She said mockingly to her men. "These dogs pale before my might." Amatricina fired another eye laser, cutting down more soldiers like wheat in a field. It felt good to stretch her legs again and sate her wanton thirst for violence. For too long the demo had been hiding in a mortal skin, pretending to be some weakling earthling vermin that couldn't so much as sense her own ki. It felt marvelous just to get out and feel the surge of her ki between her fingertips, her demonic energy coursing outwards unchecked and unbound. Let this world tremble, for their fate was sealed the moment her burning gaze was set upon it. Soon enough the defenders would lay down their arms or die to the last, and she would begin corralling her 'liberated' thralls back into her realm. The demoness turned, sensing a power level stronger than any she'd yet felt on the planet. It was not demonic, nor Saiyan, nor Kabochan... nor even an Earthling. She did not know the energy of the being that was fast approaching from the distance, nor the weaker power level at its side. "Men, hold positions." She called out, turning and readying herself. Amatricina began focusing her ki, channeling it deep in her throat for an exceedingly powerful Chou Makousen if the warriors approaching dared challenge her to a fight. She took a defensive stance, and her men formed ranks with rifles drawn and ki blasts ready in hand. And here she'd been having so much fun, the last thing the demon wanted to do was actually exert herself with a real fight.

It was times like these that Kamui regretted his choices as of late. He had no desire to fight such pathetic beings such as the resistance movements who rose against him in a vain attempt to challenge. To kill them brought no challenge, it was almost not fair to them. Kamui's outstretched pointer finger acted almost as a machine gun, small pellet sized energy blasts erupting from the finger in a rapid fire form, mowing down a small squadron. It wasn't necessarily difficult to identify Kamui and Zephyrus as not being from this world. Hell, one was a rather imposing Frost Demon infused with technology in nearly every part of his body. And Zephyrus was.....well....red. And had on the standard issue Crusher Corps armor for that matter. The defenders, while hopelessly outmatched by the Changeling, held an advantage as far as guerrilla warfare went. Small, mobile squadrons used their vast knowledge of the terrain to their advantage, launching swift hit and run attacks upon Kamui and Zephyrus as they neared the capital. Of course, such a strategy thrived off confusion and disorder, and as such would normally hold disastrous results for a larger, compact and less mobile armed force...such as the armed forces Amatricina held under her command. Yet, for two Xenos of outstanding power, it didn't work so well. In fact, Kamui could hear them approaching from a mile away, and often found himself ambushing them before they could ambush him, making for quite an ironic turn of events. "HAAAAAH!" Zephyrus yelled. The Sergeant proved to be quite impressive in his own fights, the two confident enough in each other's abilities to dispatch their own attacks in tandem with each other. As Kamui dispatched another two foes with his finger beam bullets, Zephyrus killed another with a well placed roundhouse kick directly to the head, snapping his neck almost immediately. A moment later, he dispatched another by executing a myriad of strikes to various pressure points, sending the enemy soldier reeling back. Chuckling, Kamui took a short reprieve from his rather entertaining game as the rest of that particular squadron chose to retreat. "A direct invasion? Never would've expected something like this in the South Quadrant. Not while the East Quadrant is still..." Zephyrus started, yet Kamui interjected before he could finish. "Oh yes, I'm rather perplexed about this, myself. But let's not be helpless and confused. Let us ask the source. Her power level shines like a beacon. It shouldn't be hard." " Kamui said, allowing his own aura to flare. It was meant as a warning. He was tired of fighting right now, especially considering his wounds from The Badlands had not fully healed yet. So the less strenuous combat, the better. Shooting to the sky, Kamui and Zephyrus raced into the city, making a beeline for Amatricina and her men. The fighting in the streets and the fleeing soldirs made little difference for the Changeling. To him, he wasn't here to fight a war. Crusher Corps had more than enough soldiers to that. And if this particular commander so wished to wage war against an entire planet, then who was he to stop her? He just knew that Planet Cane was his priority, and he wished to return back there as soon as possible. Eventually, Kamui found himself descending before what appeared to be a barricade of soldiers, with a rather attractive, yet imposing woman standing in the center of their ranks. Her rather ornate attire struck a sharp contrast to the military uniform customary of Crusher Corps officers, not that Kamui cared about such adherence to protocol. To him, it merely made her stand out against the rank and file even more, in a statement of individuality amongst the conformed masses. Crossing his arms over his chest, his metallic tail struck the ground rather hard, making a loud thud as he did so. He seemed rather unconcerned at the fact that there were quite a few squadrons of men pointing Anti-Matter Rifles at him. Zephyrus wasn't so carefree, and found himself adopting a defensive stance. Zephyrus appeared to open his mouth, preparing himself to announce himself before the soldiers, yet Kamui shook his head, telling the Sergeant to quiet down. His head turning back to Amatricina and her men, Kamui chuckled once more before speaking, the whole ordeal quite amusing to him. "You seem to be enjoying yourself. A bit early for an invasion, don't you agree?" Kamui's metallic voice rang out from the modulator. To Amatricina, his voice would be recognizable purely from the fact that he was the one who spoke to her mere moments ago. Yet, here they were in person. Who knew what would happen next. Fiery eyes looked the strange mechanical being up and down. Amatricina had met once such creature on earth before, he claimed to be an artificial biological creation born of the essence of multiple races spun into a kind of technological chimera. Was this being of the same origins she wondered. When the creature spoke she recognized its voice as that of the damned Lieutenant who had cut her off before she could reply. What had he addressed himself as again? Kamui, that was it. Amatricina swallowed the ki she'd gathered in her mouth and throat once she realized the men standing before her were those she was apparently allied with. She exhaled sharply, two black puffs of smoke jetting from her nostrils as the energy dissipated. The demoness spun around on her heels, rising slowly into the air and raising her fist as she addressed her men. "These two are Crusher Corp reinforcements... Go on without us men, make the final push on the capital city's last bastions. I will arrive to assist you shortly." There was a moment of hesitation from the ranks of the soldiers, before they reluctantly lowered their weapons and stowed their ki. "You all have your orders, now move out!" Amatricina commanded, pointing down the street towards the city's royal palace. Once home to the demon warlord that ruled this planet, it was not converted to a makeshift stronghold. Her men took to the skies and streets once more, flying off or sprinting on ahead. The demoness landed again, slowly turned back to face her newfound guests. Cloak blowing in the wind and her long mane of ruby hair ruffling behind her as she stepped forward to greet them. She nonchalantly shrugged as she spoke, "I always try to enjoy myself. Life is about the simple pleasures after all. Like feeling the life slip from an opponent as they draw their last breath." The demon crossed her arms, folding them under her enormous bust as she eyed up her arrivals. The first looked vaguely similar to the footage Carambolis had shown her of the 'Emperor Polaris,' sharing his general profile and notably his tail. However his body was mechanical, seemingly a cruel amalgamation of circuitry and steel with precious little flesh. She could sense the darkness in this one's heart though, the cold emotions and the blackest sins within him. He was flesh and blood, somewhere in there. Her mind immediately filled with questions. She'd have to pick his brain later, after this diversion was finished. The other being she did not recognize, he looked vaguely similar to other xenos she had met amid the rank and file of the Kabochan Confederacy's military. But, his ki was mortal, not divine or demonic, and he had the weaker power level of the two strangers. So for now, he was unimportant, so long as he did nothing to compromise that believe. "This is no invasion, Kamui Solaris, I presume." Amatricina said in her usual haughty tone. Her ruby gaze was fierce and fiery, and her very posture projected authority and strength. "This world is by rights, sworn to the Kabochan Confederacy, though without its ruler to keep it in line the locals populace has... forgotten their place." She gestured nonchalantly with a hand, as if this were an everyday occurrence. "I am merely performing much necessary administrative and law enforcement action, on behalf of our beloved Emperor himself..." Her tone quickly became more sarcastic. "This has nothing to do with the numerous demons hiding out on this backwater rock, who have no clan and thus, no loyalty. Who no one in my realm will miss once they are press ganged into my service and forced to toil at the hands of my clan." She flashed a smile, fanged canines gleaming as she reveled in her own wickness. "You know, it was quite rude to terminate communications before I even had a chance to reply. But, I'm not one for these Kabochans and their military bureaucracy, it is too stifling on the battlefield. What was it you requested? Fuel and supplies for your ship? So be it, you may have as much as you need. Hell, take captives as slaves if you like, I am so avaricious as to hoard all the spoils for myself. Though keep civilian casualties to a minimum, that was my one stipulation the Emperor has given me."
With that the demon turned and slowly began to walk away. Walk being the operative word, she could easily have flown if she truly wished to gain distance. "There is one small caveat though. You are under my command so long as this offensive is under way in the system. I am the ranking commander of this reoccupation, and you are a mere lieutenant. But... you said you have no intention of joining my war efforts. So be it, I consider myself a generous fire demon, the irony of that phrase is not lost on me. In that case you will at least accompany me and keep me entertained until this is over. Do I make myself clear?" Amatricina turned her head slightly, giving the cyborg a teasing wink before continuing to nonchalantly saunter away. Wide feminine hips sashaying gracefully with every step. The demon casually lifted a hand, firing a red blast of energy that arced across several city blocks before slamming into a defensive cannon that was raining mortar fire down on her ground forces.

Eventually, it seemed the matter resolved itself, for Amatricina and her soldiers seemed to make the right decision as far as standing down. Had they continued forward with their assault, that would've put Kamui in the awkward position of having to defend himself using lethal force. And Gods know how much paperwork that would generate, along with awkward messages sent to various families offering his condolences for decapitating their son or daughter. No one ever seemed to take the news well, for some odd reason.
As commanded by Amatricina, soldiers rushed past Kamui and Zephyrus, a few of them giving the Frost Demon looks that told it all. They knew who he was, and they weren't happy with his presence. Not that the Frost Demon cared. His deal was with Emperor Carambolis, after all. And frankly, if some chose to overstep their bounds, Kamui wasn't quite afraid to remind them who he was. He was never one to kill those on his team, but then again he wasn't in Crusher Corps to make friends, or to tolerate disrespect if it went too far. As long as the soldiers who ran past him knew better then to antagonize, then the Changeling wouldn't retaliate.
And eventually, it was merely him, Zephyrus and this strange woman. As the Frost Demon laid eyes on her, his HUD detection system automatically began scanning her, reporting her energy levels to the man. She held considerable power, nearing one hundred thousand even, well beyond the relatively low, yet standard power levels of the soldiers under her command, as well as that of the Styx Defenders in which the Crusher Corps soldiers were fighting. However, there was another aspect there. His detection system was merely an additional way for the Frost Demon to sense energy. He was capable of sensing Ki without the technology, of course, and both methods seemed equally capable, for a moment before his detection system listed an inconsistency in Amatricina's energy, Kamui sensed it as well. There was a certain darkness tied to Amatricina's form. Something he couldn't quite wrap his mind around. The Changeling had never met a demon before, given his contacts was mostly with various worldly Xenos, and didn't necessarily extend to the realms beyond the mortal realm. Due to such, his detection system didn't recognize the aura and labeled it as inconclusive, which was about the same conclusion that Kamui to on his own. It was interesting....in a weird way, and only served to add to Kamui's interest in this woman.
That was, of course, until she began speaking.
He found himself quite amused by the feeling of superiority that was practically exuding off of her. He knew to listen of course, for there was relevant information laden throughout her speech, especially relating to the reason for the military presence on Planet Styx, which seemed to be less of an invasion but more of a solidification of power and authority on a planet gone wild, which didn't do much to improve Kamui's view of the entire ordeal. Then, they devolved from briefing to an exclamation of annoyance with Kamui's handling of communication, followed shortly by Amatricina's pulling of rank and essentially giving the Changeling the option of follow her command, or proceed without fuel and most likely run out halfway into hyperspace to Planet Genesis. Not the most expressive form of camaraderie, but the Changeling was willing to cooperate, given the circumstances. An exchange of sorts. He watched her back, she watched his, although such a statement may be saying too much, given the circumstances. As displeased as he was of the tone she used when referring to him, he decided to play her game, just to amuse himself. It had been quite awhile since he was in a position of having to cater to an authority figure, but he figured it would do wonders for his study on the behavior of those in positions in power when addressing underlings, such as himself in a technical sense.
All in the name of social science, yes?
"Hmm....." Kamui mused, chuckling lightly after Amatricina had finished giving her commands to him. She was practically inviting him to accompany her, an opportunity which would most definitely prove interesting in the long run. To see how this....this "Fire Demon" as she described it, operated in person. The fact that she was a demon solved the mystery from earlier, for it certainly explained the dark aura emanating from her, although it only increased his desire to learn more. He wished to study this one closely as they adventured together through the streets of the capital.
"Most certainly. It would be my honor, Commander." The Frost Demon said, chuckling all the while, placing a hand over his heart and bowing slightly before moving to accompany her.
"Zephyrus, go support the squadrons in action. I will remain with the Commander." Kamui stated as he began to follow the Fire Demon, his tail occasionally smacking against the paved streets, his metallic feet thudding against the pavement.
"Of course." Zephyrus nodded, bowing his head. He only made a move once the two demons (demon being used rather loosely in Kamui's case) were on their way. As Zephyrus began to rise in the air, he shook his head at the sight.
"I don't know what's worse...a Fire Demon commanding our armies on Planet Styx, or Lord Kamui's ulterior motives..." The red Xeno muttered under his breath, before shooting off into the distance to assist his fellow Crusher Corps soldiers.

The Fire Demon smirked as the two strange aliens complied with her request. Kamui dispatching his subordinate soldier, Zephyrus had been his name, to join the ranks of her men as they battled their way through the capital. The soldier seemed somewhat reluctant to leave his superior behind, but it was not the position of a grunt to question his commanding officer. At least Kamui's man displayed strict adherence to the chain of command, that was one facet of the Kabochan military doctrine Amatricina greatly enjoyed. "I'm glad you feel that way, Lieutenant." The demoness said through her smile, always relishing the moment when another being submitted to her will. It was one aspect of ruling she'd simply never grow tired of. "And please Kamui, call me Amatricina, I care little for this Confederacy's ranks, or Crusher Corps. Whichever it is I am 'officially' apart of. It all matters little to me." She waved her hand through the air, wisps of fire wafting from golden talons as she illustrated her nonchalance at the titles and ranks. Amatricina walked slowly towards the battle ahead, moving at a leisurely pace, listening keenly to the sound of the strange metallic being's inorganic body as it moved. Every footfall was like steel against cement, every breath of air came raspy and filtered as if through artificial lungs. It was a curious being of machinery and flesh. Truly she was curious, and the demon turned her head slightly to address the creature as she walked. "Tell me, Kamui. I am sure you are asked this often, but what exactly are you? You bare striking similarities to Emperor Polaris in your physiology, and I can only assume you are, or rather are mostly the same race as his kind. But your body appears predominantly inorganic." She paused slightly, thinking to the strange encounter back on earth with that insectoid being. "I met a creature once in my travels, similar to you in many ways. It claimed to be an amalgamation of many of the races of warriors in the galaxy, combined into one being that encompassed all their traits and strengths. It was young, and weak, and I slew it for its insolence in challenging a demon lord. But that is besides the point. That creature referred to itself as a Bio-Android, a term which I am not familiar with. Tell me Kamui, is that what you are? Some chimera of flesh and circuitry, an experiment by your icy race to artificially become stronger?"The demon's curious was boundless, and her tone was blunt and to the point. She could riddle this Kamui with questions for hours if given the chance. It was certainly almost as interesting as this poor excuse for a battle. Amatricina came upon a wounded soldier laying face down in a pool of his own blood, his armor shattered and a deep wound on his chest. He clung to life, if only barely. She stopped, pausing for a moment to inspect his body. "Pathetic, they don't even die with dignity." She mused aloud, pressing her armored heel to the man's back. He cried out in pain, cursing aloud. " Go to hell you bitch!" The warrior yelled defiantly as she pressed down harder, the sound of ribs cracking as a wry smile crossed her plush lips. Then in an instant Amatricina gave the dying warrior a swift kick in the ribs, sending him skyward as she raised a hand, casually blasting him into ash with a demonic blast of ki. "Hmph. I thought this battle would be more of a challenge when I agreed to it. These enemy combatants, they are tenacious. I will give them that. But tenacity is no substitute for strength. They will die all the same." She turned her attention back to Kamui, continuing to speak as she walked. "Not you though, right Kamui? Do not think I couldn't sense your power level when you approached. You far outclass anyone in my command, and these are supposedly among the finest trained soldiers in Emperor Carambolis' forces. Hmph. Now tell me, what brings a being such as yourself to this crimson rock of a world. Besides the need for fuel for your star ship. There are no shortage of other systems you could have stopped at. Why this one? Or are you just going to tell me fate and leave me with my theories?" A part of her mused that perhaps this Kamui planned to take this world of Styx as his own, and that was why Carambolis had offered it to her for her loyalty. Perhaps the good Emperor had thought her a mere weapon, to hurl at a problematic subordinate and remove him from the equation? Or had he thought her unable to complete the task given to her, and known or even sent this Kamui to assist her should she prove insufficient. It was all a bit too convenient for the demon's tastes, and she was always weary of ulterior motives. Demons operated under much secrecy and scheming, and she expected the more duplicitous mortals to do just the same. Whatever the reason, she did not matter much so long as things continued to proceed smoothly and she got her fresh crop of demonic slaves.

The roads of the Styx capital was slick with blood, and laden with bodies. Both Crusher Corps and Styx Resistance. Burned out buildings marked the aftereffects of a war still going strong. One could even see families huddled in houses, which was good for them for it seemed the Crusher Corps officers were sticking to their "little civilian casualty orders". No bodies of civilians in sight, at least. The property damage was a shame, but when dealing with armies of individuals who could detonate whole cities with a flick of their wrist, you're bound to have a few burning buildings.
Within the first few moments of accompanying Amatricina, the Changeling became aware that this little journey would be more of a leisurely stroll through the burning metropolis while having a sweet little chat over tea, then actual combat. Of course the occasional body was thrown in there. There was even one point when a Styx Rebel attempted to sneak up on the metallic Frost Demon, deeming him the more threatening of the two for some odd reason. Perhaps it was the tail. Nevertheless, as the Styx Rebel approached, Kamui gave no indication of knowing of the woman's approach, until his tail suddenly whipped up and smacked her across the face, the force of such a blow almost immediately snapping her neck, causing the woman to fall to the ground.
Kamui didn't even stop moving.
Apparently Amatricina was not exactly an officer for Crusher Corps, but more an affiliate than anything else. He could also tell that she reveled in Kamui's "submission" to her, the expression upon her face and the tone of voice used hinted towards such elation. The Frost Demon was perfectly content to allow the Fire Demon the feeling of superiority she so desired. Did it affect him any? Not exactly. Did it benefit him? Not exactly, but it interested him. And that was all he needed in the long run. As they traversed through the citadel, Amatricina revealed a portion of her own motives for this little meet. She seemed to be interested in him, perhaps not as much as he was in her, but the sentiment was there. The questions seemed geared towards his species, and more importantly, his rather unique appearance.
"I guess if a comparison is to be made between Polaris and myself, it is that. Indeed, Polaris and I are of the same species. Our species are known as Frost Demons, but I do not prefer the official term, for it would liken us to actual demons, which we are not. Thus, I simply utilize the word Changeling, due to my race's strength lying in our ability to transform in order to reach greater heights of power." Kamui explained, his hand gradually moving to display his cybernetic enhancements.
"I am not an Android, nor am I a conglomerate of genes and traits to make a whole. The cybernetic replacements are the results of a battle gone wrong, which robbed me of the majority of my limbs, as well as most of my life functions. Luckily, my race is capable of surviving even the most grievous of injuries, and I was able to survive and rebuild myself, with assistance from my crew." Kamui stopped for a moment, and directed his pointer finger towards an alleyway. Bright pink light illuminated the air in front of him, before the Changeling discharged a thin, bright pink laser from his finger into the alleyway. A moment later, the beam must have detonated, for a shrill scream could be heard, followed by large plumes of thick, black smoke.
"There are some people in this galaxy with power beyond comprehension. Access to strength that you never dreamed possible. It's always interesting to face those types, and to see how you fare. I just pushed myself too far, and made the wrong decisions...at all the wrong moments." The Changeling began to move forward once more, the last statement in itself having a rather ominous connotation attached. Kamui seemed to be enjoying this little questionnaire, and pondered as to whether he should ask a few of himself. He even found himself growing more and more detached from the ongoing battle. He was sure Zephyrus would handle it. The man was extremely powerful in his own right, and smart beyond words.
"My reasons for coming to this planet are simple. I came here because Crusher Corps is here, and it was the nearest planet that I could reach without going into a full reverse. As I said, fuel is my objective for now. I'd much rather not run out of it halfway back to the East Quadrant. Prayerfully, you understand."
"However, you cannot hope to simply question me and not expect something in return. You say you are a Fire Demon, and I do not dispute this. You are an actual demon from a realm beyond the mortal one, am I correct in that assumption? If so, why are you here? Why do you visit this realm, and why make deals with mortals that involve you commanding armies on Planet Styx for Crusher Corps? Surely, your life's goal wasn't to make friends with aliens. In fact, I am sure it isn't. So tell me...what exactly are you here for?"

Amatricina did so enjoy her leisurely stroll through the battle ravaged wreckage of the city. The burning bodies, the pools of blood and viscera, the dying cries of warriors who's life slipped away with each breath. It reminded her of home, the fire demon had not seen or fought in a proper battle since before she had last torn open a rift in dimensions, propelling herself into the mortal plane of existence. While the blood smelled different, and the fires did not rage as hotly, this would do. There was a notably spring in her step as she walked, reveling in the destruction before her. All around her she could sense the emotions of the frail mortal civilians. Hiding in their homes like the cowardly vermin they were, at least they avoided dying in combat this way. It fulfilled both her mission perimeters and allowed them to live to see the sun rise another day, an acceptable trade off if ever there was one. When Kamui spoke his words in response, Amatricina's blood ran cold. She turned rather sharply on her heels to face the cyborg. "Frost Demon?" She replied bitterly, as if the words stung her throat. "Is that what these foolish mortals call your kind?" Rage began to boil inside the demon, and her aura crackled and flared around her as she spoke. "Have my kind truly fallen so far from the minds of the mortal races that this is what they think constitutes as a demon?" The woman spat, it sizzled the ground like lava burning a hole through inches of concrete street. She wanted to demonstrate the full power of a demon, to remind the mortals of at least this world what a proper demon truly looked like. She could tear this city asunder in minutes, lay waste to an entire continent in days, and in only a few weeks the entire planet could be nothing but a burning ruin. No even a mountain left standing. But she did not, she did no such thing in fact. Amatricina let her temper simmer, before dispelling the energy in a wave of intense heat that dissipated from her body. "I agree with you on the word Changeling..." She stated simply, her tone trying to hide her anger. "I find it a much better alternative to frost demon. I have seen actual frost demons... they are nothing like your kind." The demoness left the matter at that, turning and beginning to continue her walk. "So your race can transform?" She said curiously, glancing aside to inspect the mechanical Changeling head to toe. She couldn't imagine how, perhaps his metal armature transformed with him? "Emperor Carambolis can transform as well, though it is not a natural phenomena of his race. Have you seen him in battle? It is quite the spectacle." She spoke that last sentence with bitter resentment, thinking back on her short spar with the Emperor. How he had attained his strange striped form, covering his skin in ancient markings both divine and demonic and channeling great psychic powers against her. How easily he had bested her, and how powerless she had been against his might. "He claims he acquired that power of his in the Other World. I trust your kind knows of that place? It is the world of the dead, the afterlife, where the souls good or bad are judged and then bottled away by the Kais like baubles in a collection for all eternity." The demoness spat again, clenching a fist in rage. "Carambolis claimed he journeyed there, but neglected to mention the means by which he did. He didn't die, because as I know it no power can revive the dead but the Dragonballs, and he does not yet possess the full set..." Amatricina thought briefly on her own small 'collection' of the gemstones. She had found the five star orb in her travels, and hidden it away where even the Emperor could not find it. At least, that was what she hoped. "Tell me Kamui, when your race transforms, is it akin to his strange power? And how do you do so with that mechanical... augmentation to your flesh?" She tried to be less than blunt, but there was no skirting around the subject of the changeling's mechanical appendages and voice modulated speech. He was eerie, like a creature that should have died but simply refused death. Amatricina paused as Kamui dispatched some mortal hiding down an alleyway. "It is like the vermin to slink in the shadows rather than stand in the open." She said, shaking her head slowly before continuing forward undeterred. She thought briefly on her soldiers, surely they must have breached the main gates by now. Surely the battle between the last of the Styxian defenders and the Crusher Corps infantry was going to be a heated one. Part of her wished to see it first hand, so the demon picked up her pace slightly, hovering slightly off the ground rather than simply walking. "Hmm..." She said simply at Kamui's latest revelation. "So you're no artificial life form, and genetic chimera then. That is good I suppose, I find both detestable. The former lacks a soul to corrupt, the latter I thought revolting, like a perversion of the flesh. I happen to be a great admirer of beauty you know." Amatricina said, haughty and proud as she placed a hand to her chest. A wide grin flashed across her face before she spoke. "Especially my own." Kamui's revelation at even stronger beings lurking in the universe wiped the smile from the demon's face. Carambolis had mentioned there were perhaps a dozen beings in existence stronger than himself, and his power likely matched or maybe even exceeded that of the last Demon King... Dabura. It left a bitter taste in Amatricina's mouth at how many more beings than that short list could best her formidable strength. "Interesting is not the word I would chose for describing facing a stronger being. Carambolis had me vomiting my own blood, with nearly every bone in my body broken. It is a beating a hope to repay him someday." Amatricina let out a huff, her mood momentarily fowled by yet another acknowledgement she was not as powerful a being as she had believed for centuries. Her near constant training in the mortal realm was beginning to change that though, and she had already mastered her techniques to what she believed was their fullest potential. "So you lost a battle, barely clinging to live and were saved by your servants and placed in this... mechanical approximation of your true form, Yes? There were healing devices on the Emperor's flagship, they used a serum derived from the sap of a so-called 'Tree of Might'. Have you heard of that before, I had not? Regardless, it worked phenomenally, repaired my broken horn in only an hour." Amatricina said as she lovingly ran a hand along the flawless bone and chitin of her large upper right horn, feeling its every flawless contour. "Could these devices restore your body? Or do I take it the damage is far too severe for that?"The fire demon gave a devilish grin when Kamui asked questions of her in return. She was, if nothing else, a very proud being. She did so relish the chance to regale another with the histories of both herself, her clan, and her kind. It filled her with a deep sense of pride, stroking her very large ego. Amatricina's face practically lit up when the cyborg asked, and she nodded in agreement. "But of course, Kamui. It would be rude of me to ask so much of you and to not offer anything in return myself. Now, where do I begin..." The woman tapped a taloned finger playfully to her chin, as if she needed to think on where to start. It was all for show, her teasing smile betrayed her excitement. "As I said, I am indeed a Fire Demon. My race is near as old as the Demon Realm itself, spanning back in time just over seventy five million years give or take a few millennia. I am no mere Fire Demon though, I am a Demon Warlord, ruler of my late father's clan. We are the strongest clan on our home world of Monsigneus. It is a bit like this world, Styx. Though it is far larger, with much harsher gravity and constant volcanic activity. I do so miss it."Amatricina was quite enjoying herself, slowing her pace slightly once more. Though she did wish to see the finale of the battle, telling her tale for more fun in the moment. "As to why I am here, that is a very long story. I will give you the condensed version, though you're welcome to the full version sometime. Ideally over a glass of wine and some well seasoned red meat." She was deathly serious despite her playful tone, and was more than willing to talk for ages over her origins and travels while enjoying some of the finer things in life. "I was inadvertently summoned to some misbegotten world months ago by a very foolish cult that worshiped shadows. I, along with another warrior they had coerced into their ritual, slew the cultists to the last. Not long after I made my way to earth, searching for the secrets of magic relics I had only recently come into the knowledge of. I found that knowledge with the arrival of the Kabochan Confederacy, our mutual benefactor, their good Emperor."The demoness let out a haughty titter, and she shook her head slowly as she smiled. "Carambolis opened my eyes to a truth I had been blind to. My goals are not bound within your mortal realm. My eyes are cast to my own, and thus the two of us were able to strike a bargain. He was quite generous with his terms, offered me this whole world as payment for services in shackling the earth to his cause. But alas, I cannot rule a planet in two different dimensions, so I must decline. But this world does have one particular resource I'm after, though as you've seen they are not a willing bunch." Amatricina chuckled to herself, thinking on the millions of shackled demons soon to be forcibly carted back to her world. She would need an extraordinary portal to facilitate the transfer. One larger than any she had yet constructed. The demon hadn't put much thought into how she'd go about doing that, but ideas were beginning to form in her head. "Anyways, Carambolis is stronger than myself, so I was in no position to decline his requests. I, like you, are also a great seeker of knowledge. I have no doubt that is why you have followed me without the slightest complaint. I wish to learn more about the Emperor's strange power, and how to obtain it for my own." Amatricina did not speak of Emperor Carambolis' offer to help her gather the Dragonballs in exchange for the earth. She had no doubt he would attempt to betray her on that matter, but that was a problem for another day. In the meantime she was more than happy to have at least a few token allies in the mortal realm. Especially one with such incredible power and such a mighty war machine as the Omnipotence.

It seemed he had hit a nerve.
Kamui hadn't expected such a harsh and vehement response from the Fire Demon....ahem, Fire Demon Warlord. However, Kamui's facial expression did not betray such surprise, not that concealing his facial expressions were difficult when most of your face was covered by metal plating. He allowed the Fire Demon to fume and go about in her little temper tantrum, the Changeling having better things to do then to entertain her outrage over something so trivial. Sighing lightly, Kamui looked down the street, noticing they were alone for the moment. The sounds of battle were fading slightly, heading closer and closer to the city's center. Towards the Government District of the city, perhaps? One could only guess what was happening now in the heart of conflict.
It almost made Kamui wonder which was worse: Fighting, or entertaining Amatricina and playing subordinate? Just kidding. At least Amatricina interested him. Slaughtering undesirables got boring after awhile.
"We've been called such for hundreds of years, so I believe you are a bit late on the memo, if you are truly as old as you say. The mortal realm, as you call it, works differently then the Demon Realm in which you came. We have our own rulers, and our own history. There are mortals that shook this realm as well as others. Mutants who have challenged and bested gods, demons, and the like. And now, at the peak of recent history, there are beings in this galaxy that are slowly encroaching on that power." Kamui started what was about to be a long explanation.
"My clan transforms in a method that is different from the Emperor's, albeit I have not seen Cam at full strength. My clan transforms through physical alteration, changing our appearance drastically, mostly giving us larger forms then that which is considered normal. With these transformations usually comes a dramatic power increase. Among us, there are a few with a naturally high power level, beyond what even they are capable of controlling, and as such utilize transformations to limit their power to lower levels as a way of better controlling their power, and not waste their energy needlessly."
"I, am an exception, as you have already seen. I would be able to transform as the rest of my clan does, but my...current form, does not allow this. Thus, I must compensate. Instead of drastically changing my appearance, my cybernetics allow me to unleash the power that would've been unlocked by transforming in a way that only increases my muscle mass, instead of a drastic change in appearance, thus minimizing the change. As for Emperor Cam, I have not seen him in battle as of yet, but I have experienced a portion of his power. Most likely not his full power, but I have felt at least a fraction of it....when I was weaker. If I am to guess, based off that instance, I'd guess that now I am only slightly weaker then the Emperor when we both are at our full power. When it comes to raw power at least. Our applications of that power is what matters, and that is the difference between us. I would like to test my strength against him one day."
The Tree of Might's restorative properties came as a slight surprise to Kamui, however. He had never heard of such a thing. Something with the medicinal properties to regrow lost limbs. Kamui was aware some species held the ability to regenerate lost limbs. Hell, his clan held the ability to a degree, but not to the extent of other species such as Namekians. The artificial nature of his body was something that he himself despised, and wished himself rid of. The feelings of his metallic limbs. His metallic sounding voice. His labored breathing, how much he struggled to even function. Also, the memories attached to it enraged him. Every time he looked down at himself, it reminded him of his own failure. His failure to kill Vile. His helplessness against such a foe. The fact that he had nearly killed him and his elite squadron. If Cam had a way to remedy such, he could consider paying the man a visit to inquire. However, a broken horn was much different from a shattered body.
It was worth investigation, however. But, back to the regularly scheduled program.
It seemed as if Amatricina had been waiting for someone to inquire as to her origins, and delved into such a topic with gusto. He listened carefully, his tail occasionally smacking against the ground. She seemed quite proud in her history, and reveled in the retelling of her own story, explaining her rather unique story for being in this realm.
"So you are an affiliate of Carambolis, and not an actual officer under him. I assume that clears things a bit more." Kamui stated, once he had listened to her and processed the information. The murky waters in which this woman was shrouded in since he had met her were beginning to clear, bit by bit.
"How interesting...but expected. My next question would've been how exactly a Demon Warlord found herself in Cam's service, but now I understand as a bargain of sorts. In addition, you figured out my reason for beginning to follow you so. How smart you happen to be....it's lovely."
"Lieutenant is a starter rank, one in which I intend to change in due time. I am a former mercenary, former pirate that mainly operated in the North and East Sectors of the galaxy. Raiding and destroying ships and taking what was valuable inside of them for myself. A dangerous job, but my old crew was excellent with such, and we ran smoothly. However, I overstepped my bounds and attacked two Crusher Corps vessels, crippling and destroying one and then moving to invade another, but being stopped by the Emperor himself. Granted, I was unaware of who I was attacking, but the sentiment was still there. My continued existence is a matter of striking a deal with him and several service factors. My continual service, however, is a matter of choice, and mutual benefit." Kamui explained. It was a vague explanation, and he purposely didn't include anything about his capturing of Absolut and his cleansing of "The Fridge" on Planet Cane. It was unnecessary, and on a need to know basis. And Amatricina was certainly one who didn't need to know. At least not yet.
"But you are correct. I followed you not out of any fealty to you, but more to study your behavior. Even for as short of a charade it was, I learned much, so I applaud you for confirming my hypothesis. I merely need to conduct my analysis of data later, and type up a quick research paper. I'll even forward you the study. I'll of course need to repeat it for verification, but as what has been made strikingly clear, you are not the only demon in this realm." Kamui chuckled, his tail once more striking the ground. His intentions were mostly made out of jest, but very little of it. He wouldn't exactly waste precious time and money sending Amatricina a copy of a paper she most likely wouldn't read, after all.
"Now, as much as I would love to continue to chat, I believe we could do so when our soldiers are not dying. I don't know about you, but I would prefer for casualties to not rack up. Not while I am perfectly capable of destroying the remainder of the resistance by myself."

The demon furrowed her brow as Kamui reminded her that powerful warriors far beyond her strength inhabited the mortal realm. It was a detestable fact, one she did not enjoy in the slightest. One she intended to rectify at her earliest convenience, the demon's training was rigorous as it was effective. Already she'd felt a marked improvement in her power level since her duel with Emperor Carambolis, though she knew she presently lacked the strength to face him on even footing. Or now. "I am aware of the incredibly strong beings that inhabit the mortal realm, much to my chagrin. Our mutual Emperor said there were perhaps a dozen that could best him, so I shudder to think how many exist in the bracket between himself and I." That was all she felt speaking on the matter, it was a continued so spot on her pride. A blemish that only training and perhaps the Dragonballs could remove. Amatricina listened intently the changeling cyborg's words, it was by far the most interesting thing she had heard all day. Transformations were not knew to the fire demon, she had seen mortal races transform before. However, most did so to increase their power levels, not the reverse. So Kamui and Polaris' race used transformations to limit their power, like a natural stopgap on the limits of their power. It was curious, to say the least. She briefly wondered if her race could transform. Amatricina had never seen it, and their records did not contain information on fire demons specifically transforming, only how they could obtain great heights of power. She would need return to her home world Monsigneus soon, and consult with her archives more on the nature of transformation. The demoness had theories to test. Her mind snapped back to attention, and the demoness nodded along in agreement as the cyborg spoke. "Interesting, to say the least. I've never met a race that used their transformations to limit their strength, rather than augment it. Color me skeptical though if I don't believe some artificial limbs and mechanical augmentations can match the power of flesh and blood. I have not yet met a machine I could not rip apart with my bare hands." Amatricina flashed her gilded talons as they glowed red with searing heat. She held out her hand to the side as she walked, slicing through the hull of a crashed star fighter burning in the streets as though it simply wasn't there. Her ruby eyes flashed and she turned her gaze back to her companion. "Regardless, if you claim your true strength rivals that of the Emperor, I would like to see it someday. I'd eagerly watch a battle that truly put Carmbolis on his toes, if only to vicariously watch him struggle." The demon looked up to the sky, waxing poetic about the day when her own strength would exceed the Kabochan's. "I will repay him for the indignity I suffered at his hands, someday. I have much to do in the meantime before I am ready to face him again." She turned back to Kamui, musing aloud to herself. "If you are such similar power as he is, I should like to spar with you at some point. But that can wait for another day, on another world. I hold no love of this planet, and this diversion is fleeting at best."The cyborg's story of his own origin however, was less appealing. Amatricina held no love for pirates or mercenaries, they were little better than lawless dissidents serving no clan but the highest bidder. If captured by her Infernal Fleet, it was Amatricina's younger brother Sofrito's great pleasure to execute pirates himself. He tended to shove his hand through their hearts, incinerating them from the inside out. His elder sister's thoughts on the matter were similar. But here in the mortal realm, there were no demon clans, and she was forced to be much more... 'open' about her choice of allies. If Kamui was as strong as he claimed to be, and held his own chip on his shoulder for the Emperor's transgressions against him, he would prove a better ally than enemy. "It seems I am not the only one bound to Carambolis by mutual benefit then." She replied, ignoring the point about Kamui being a pirate. "Does the good Emperor only recruit allies by way of mutual benefit?" She chuckled, her question purely rhetorical. "And for the record, I care little for the fact you are studying me. I am a being worth study. So long as we are both sating our mutual curiosity, I see no issue. After all, thinking rational minds are what separates demon from beast, are they not... frost demon?" The demoness scoffed at her own remark, but the point was still relevant. It was only natural for intelligent races to study the world around them. As the duo approached the capital building, Amatricina's attentions shifted away from idle chit chat. Her army had not yet routed the enemy, she found it irksome that even with as little faith as she placed on them they managed to fail her low expectations. She side eyed the cyborg as he spoke, seeing in him a way to kill two shinjin with one stone. Amatricina smiled, her words coaxing and charming rather than haughty and cold. "If that is how you feel, then perhaps you should act on that feeling Lieutenant. These men mean little to me beyond tools bestowed upon me by Carambolis. Go on changeling, cut these rebels down like a scythe through the tall grass. Show me the power that rivals the Kabochan's Emperor, spare my men from further causality and crush these vermin in one fell swoop." A wry smile formed across the demon's face as she goaded the changeling. She did wish to see him in action, and if he did nothing on the matter she would quell the violence herself... with maximum prejudice.

"March on!" Zephyrus yelled among the sounds of battle.
The battle was raging near the capital, and Zephyrus was representing the crew of The Dread Spectre amazingly well. A whirlwind of movement on the battlefield, the red skinned Xeno tore through Styx defenders, every blow powerful enough to take down at least one Styx defender, and at the most five in a single show of force. The Xeno had been in battles ever since he had joined the Crusher Corps, and had been offered his fair share of promotions throughout his career with the Confederacy. However, he had refused them all, in favor of direct service. He preferred the thrill of battle and directly commanding soldiers while on the field. He didn't have the patience nor the desire to sit in a bunker miles upon miles away from the fighting, drafting strategic blueprints and filing out paperwork. No, his place was the thick of the fighting, being the one who got things done. One day, he desired for a spot amongst the Kabochan Elite. And at the rate that he was at, he would someday have such a position within his grasp.
The Styx Defenders were slowly being pushed into a corner. They were nothing compared to Zephyrus, of course, but they were well disciplined and had the advantage of terrain knowledge and resourcefulness, creating barricades to block progress and to take cover behind as they fired into the lines of energy soldiers.
Zephyrus could've turned up the heat and unleashed his full power. In fact, he was confident that if he did, this resistance would be nothing but dust in a matter of moments. However, there was the issue of collateral damage. It was a government sector, and the residential sector was, thankfully, long past. But he didn't feel comfortable releasing his full power and throwing caution to the wind without official sanction. Thus, he resorted simply to taking out infantry one by one, coupled with small scale explosions.
"Damn you, you Confederate scum!" One Styx Officer yelled as he stepped forward, firing a rather flashy looking energy wave at Zephyrus. The red Xeno's scouter, in turn lit up and numerals began flashing across the visor. The officer's power level flew up to a total of ten thousand. Much more then most of the soldiers that served under him, and a good portion of the Kabochan Soldiers, as well.
Zephyrus swatted the energy wave aside with about as much care and strength behind that then one would put into shooing a fly away. A loud explosion could be heard as an abandoned two story office building exploded, debris flying everywhere.
A moment later, said Styx Officer met a rather early end as Zephyrus shot his own half powered energy wave, a red energy wave smacking the officer full force before detonating, sending him and several other soldiers into oblivion.
"We'll have this planet by the end of the day." Zephyrus said.
--------------------------------------------------
"The fact that you remain breathing, with minimal signs of injury upon you goes to show for your skill. I may take you up on your offer. It may prove beneficial." Kamui said in reference to sparring with the Demon Warlord. He supposed he should feel flattered that someone who valued herself so highly would find interest in a mortal like him, but he was merely interesting in fighting someone with a completely different set of skills than he, due to her otherworldly status.
Now he remembered. He had met one with an aura such as hers before, although there were distinct differences. Her regular Ki had a certain feel about it, as if it was not from this world, which was easily explainable given she wasn't from this realm. He had felt similar energy from Raijin, the Living Storm, a fighter that he had encountered months ago, on Space Vegas. The man exhibited a similar Ki Signature, although Amatricina's was noticeably darker. Yet, it had that same feel, as if it was beyond the realm of mortals. Perhaps this Raijin, was a god? It would explain the elemental manipulation. Or perhaps related to the gods. It was certainly something worth pondering.
And it also seemed as if Amatricina had no intention of rejoining the fight. All that zeal and explosions that she so directly took part in before seemed to fade in preference of watching Kamui fight. A hint of anger was also creeping into his heart upon hearing of Ama's view towards her men. Just as he expected, the soldiers under her command were no more important to her then the Styx Resistance that she slaughtered under her boot. To her, mortals were little more than insects. Only fit to be crushed upon the whim of the larger person. But, that was fine. Kamui would be more than glad to step in. His body...well rather, what little of his organic body remained, was still heavily injured from fighting Vile, but he figured he could force his body to cooperate. It wasn't like he'd need his full power to finish this after all.
"With pleasure." The Frost Demon spoke before he vanished.
If there was one thing Kamui could pride himself on throughout his life, it was his speed. Ever since he was a child, his movement speed had always been something to be admired. His capability to cover large distances in short time, and to be able to travel faster than one could follow was always a talent of his. One that he was proud of. His variation of Rapid Movement, known as Sonic Warp, was merely his speed exemplified, allowing him to blur out of sight, and reappear at a moment's notice.
However, as much as he would love to credit such fast movement to Rapid Movement. It wasn't. In fact, it wasn't movement at all. In fact, it was more akin to teleportation. Instant Transmission, a technique that allowed one to travel across an infinite distance in an instant. To allow one to even break past different dimensions. For the living to appear in the realm of the dead. Although in this case, all Kamui did was teleport from where he stood with Amatricina, to the thick of the battlefield. More importantly, Zephyrus's Ki Signature was what Kamui focused on to get there in the first place.
And now, he was right in the thick of it.
Kamui's presence changed the course of battle in an instant. Like the rest of his soldiers, he kept environmental damage to a minimum. Thus no city busting techniques nor anything that would potentially kill non-combatants, or endanger his soldiers.
At one point, Kamui reared two fingers back, purple energy almost immediately coalescing within his pointer and middle fingers. Fully cocking his hand back, Kamui chose one front soldier. An officer in the crowd, and focused on his energy signature.
Kamui then vanished once more, utilizing Instant Transmission a second time, causing him to reappear right in front of the Styx Officer. Not bothering to wait for the soldier in question to fully register his sudden presence, Kamui lowered his hand, putting it at waist level before swiping his hand from left to right in a single motion.
It was a devastating blow.
Sharp purple Ki went flashing horizontally across the field in front of him, bisecting scores upon scores of soldiers at once, all bisected in half by the sharp wave of Ki that hopelessly killed them upon impact. Government buildings fell around them as they were also cut in half by the Death Wave, all of them (luckily) already evacuated due to them housing higher political figures who, sadly, got first evacuation priority. Almost in sync, the bisected bodies of a great deal of the Styx Defenders fell lifelessly to the ground in heaps, blood soaking the earth below.
"Who's next? I give you five minutes. Five minutes to submit before I wipe your miserable existence from the face of this galaxy." Kamui said aloud to the remaining enemy soldiers.

Amatricina smirked as the changeling replied, watching as he vanished from sight. He was fast, impressively so, though Carambolis was still stronger. Though the Emperor's speed was something of a facsimile, as he claimed to more be able to read movements and see otherwise invisible forms of energy to give him acute foresight regarding his foe's attacks. Kamui however, appeared to indeed be the real deal when it came to agility. The fire demon actually had to focus, keeping track of his every movement with a keen sense of concentration. She walked slowly through the battlefield, deftly deflecting errant ki blasts back into the ranks of the enemy or harmlessly into the skies above. One soldier was bold enough to charge her, and she simply side stepped his assault, headbutting him hard enough to pile drive him into a crater on the ground. All the while her gaze was locked on the ever changing position of the cybernetic warrior, studying his technique and form as he weaved through the enemy ranks like a hot knife through flesh. If they did indeed spar she would need be on her toes, the changeling's ability to seemingly vanish and reappear instantly at will was as fascinating as it was concerning. She could see how he had become a respectable pirate, a technique of such speed would allow for flawless ambushes. Combined with the fact Carambolis had informed her the cyborg's race were among those that could withstand the crippling depths of space, she could plainly see how Kamui had been coaxed towards space piracy. The demoness furrowed her brow, scowling when her Lieutenant's energy wave went bisecting through the buildings behind the battlefield. Collateral damage was one thing, but she deigned to have word reach the Emperor that her forces had caused significant enough damage to the capital to have repercussions come back to her. She would need intervene and quell this fighting immediately. As much fun as it was to watch mass destruction firsthand, staying in the Emperor's good graces was among her chief priorities. Amatricina appeared in front of Kamui as he shouted his defiant challenge to the rebellious soldiers. She placed her arm out in front of the Changeling's metallic chest, signalling him to stand down. "That will be enough Lieutenant Solaris." The demon said sternly, her gaze fixating on the remaining enemy. Amatricina hovered higher into the air, so the enemy could all plainly see her. "This battle is over." She commanded simply. "Lay down your arms and surrender, you will be granted amnesty and mercy. You have fought bravely this day, and will be rewarded for your valor with compassion on the battlefield." The demon's tone was stern, authoritative, and most importantly, a ruse. Her fiery gaze was locked on the rebels, as they formed tight defensive ranks, mulling about their options. Die before Kamui's wrath, face the Kabochan army and take as many down with them as they could, or accept the demon lord's offer and with it their only chance at survival. A lone soldier threw down his rifle, taking off his scouter and looking up defiantly at the demon. Another followed in his footsteps, soon more and more were laying down their weapons, relaxing their stances, or letting their power flare back down to its normal levels. Amatricina smiled, watching the last act of submission from her foes. She could practically taste it, mixed in with all the fear and the rage within the men. The last waning glimmer of hope, the light at the end of their long dark tunnel, the only chance of their salvation. The demoness licked her plump lips, landing back on the ground softly. Heels clinking against the stone floor of the large plaza where the battle had raged as Amatricina slowly walked up to the rebellious army. She placed her hand tenderly on the shoulder of the first rebel to lay down his arms. A warm smile crossed the demon's face, and she spoke in a motherly tone. "You have made the right choice this day warrior. I hope your comrades remember your actions." Amatricina flexed her hand shut, snapping the man's shoulder blade like toothpick and sending him screaming in pain. This was the moment she relished most, the moment when the last of their hope would die. "Because it's the last thing you'll ever do!" Amatricina cackled with laughter as she flew back into the air, raising her hands above her head as black and violet colored lightning crackled from her finger tips. The rebels were a mixture of frozen with fear, fleeing for their lives, and attacking back in desperately retaliation. Amatricina aimed a hand at them, and the army fell to its knees. Her gaze narrowed, a wide grin plastered on her face. Her Demonic Siphon, a ki stealing technique that drew the energy of lesser creatures and allowed her to absorb and convert it into pure demonic ki. A strong enough warrior could resist its effects with their aura, as she had no doubt the Changeling and his subordinate would, but for the rebels there would be no such luck. The rebels cried out in pain and agony, doubling over as they felt their energy being drained away against their will. Amatricina's own army was not exempt from her siphoning display, the weaker of her ranks falling to their knees or outright collapsing as she wantonly drew forth as much of their energy as she could. Amatricina's normally fiery gaze began to glow with a black flame, and her aura shifted from a burning ruby to a deep violet the color of Dark Energy. The power was intoxicating, she hadn't felt this much energy since she had last set foot on Tenebris, the Dark Energy infused moon that orbited her home world, one of her clan's greatest treasures. Amatricina aimed her other hand at the center of the rebellious soldiers, channeling her ki into an inky black orb that seemed with chaotic power. It crackled with raw Dark Energy, a seething writhing mass of primordial power. The demon exhaled, her mind focusing as she drew forth the powerful magics she would need for this task. She had never attempted a portal this large. Even the smallest ones required her to hone Dark Energy into her claws and tear open a rending gash in the dimensional fabric of reality. This, this was no mere gash, this was to be an open gaping wound. One she would need every ounce of stolen power to maintain. Amatricina fired a black beam of energy from the orb in her hand. Violet tendrils of burning energy twisted around the central darkness in a sickly helix pattern. The rebels scattered, trying to avoid the blast. It impacted the center of the army, but alas, there was no explosion. No flash of light. No, what happened was much, much, worse. A dark circle appeared on the ground, flawless in its total absence of light. It began to grow, at first no bigger around than a manhole cover but swelling rapidly as it gorged itself on the Dark Energy Amatricina fed her creation with her sustained energy beam. It expanded outward, spreading like an inky sheen along the ground, matching the every imperfection and contour of the floor beneath it. As the darkness spread underneath the feet of the rebel soldiers, they sank through it as if they had stepped onto quicksand. Too weakened from being drained of their ki to flee, most could only feebly grasp at the air before the darkness had pulled them under. The screams of the soldiers sliding into the inky liquid was deeply unsettling, the Kabochan army visibly upset by the display. Some men stepped back, giving themselves greater distance from their demonic commander. To Amatricina though, it was music to her ears. The last desperate cries of mortal vermin whose pathetic lives were coming to a horrid end. She cackled loudly as she fed her circle of darkness, a dimensional rift between the mortal and demon realms. A gateway between Monsigneus and Styx that would be the undoing of the demons of this world. Soon the portal grew to its full and terrible size, swelling to fill most of the plaza proper. Any organic life standing on it were pulled through to the other side, first traversing the nightmarish void in reality between the two realms. Deprived of light or sound or any stimulation, that miserable empty abyss that even Amatricina loathed to travel through. On the opposite end they would arrive, greeted by the burning volcanic hellscape of her home world. The gravity many times higher than most worlds, the frailest rebels would simply have their bodies crushed and their lungs collapsed. Those less fortunate would be choked to death by the noxious atmosphere of toxic gases given off by constant volcanic activity. And those few poor souls who did not perish in moments, who's bodies could withstand the rigors of her world, would perish before one of Amatricina's siblings. Her eldest brother Raigu felt the demonic power at work, and the distant but unmistakable ki of his sister as he sat upon her throne. He rose from his seat, a grim look on his face. Soon a full legion of her demons would take to the skies towards the portal that writhed just beyond the gates of their capital city. Soon, Amatricina would be reunited with her kin. Back on the planet Styx, Amatricina ceased the energy beam that fed her mighty portal. It was large enough for her purposes, now she need focus on sustaining it. She lowered herself to the ground, too taxed to waste precious ki on fight. The demon looked back at her army, exhausted and beleaguered. Some had succumbed to their injuries in concert with her dark siphon, but the majority of her forces seemed alive, if only just. They would likely recover, given enough time and rest. "Behold!" Amatricina declared loudly to her soldiers. "The power of a Demon Lord! By my hand, the dark magic needed to tear a dimensional rift! Now, return to the fleet. Your task is done here." Amatricina's words were boisterous, dripping with pride like venom from her fangs. She relished flaunting her power in ways even she could not have imaged mere centuries ago. Truly, this was to be a black day for the planet Styx.

T o think, he would be in a predicament such as this.
It was one thing for Amatricina to stop him. In fact, he was surprised she did that much. Kamui did not take demons for the merciful kind. The type to stop her armies from fighting against the resistance. The type to intimidate the enemy soldiers into surrendering. However, she did it, and Kamui couldn't say he wasn't pleased with such a result. If they were willing to lay down their arms and submit, what was the point of further violence?
Thus, when the first soldier laid down his weapons, Kamui was more than happy to step aside and let Amatricina handle things. One by one, more soldiers laid down their arms and powered down, in an act of surrender. They had seen too many good men die by the Kabochan Confederacy's hands on this day. They had seen scores of soldiers slaughtered in a single instance by Kamui Solaris. And they most certainly did not want to be next. Kamui didn't blame them for their actions.
But what Kamui did blame, was Amatricina for what she did next.
One moment the Styx Army was in near complete surrender. The next moment Amatricina was in the air, moving to draw energy from all the gathered masses, friend or foe. Kamui himself even felt a tug upon his own energy, although the Cyborg Changeling quickly resisted such a tether from being formed between himself and the demon, a bright teal colored aura quickly forming to shield himself.
Zephyrus found himself summoning a similar aura barrier around himself to guard against the energy siphon, the both of them proving mighty enough to sever the tether. However, the same could not be said for the remainder of the Kabochan and Styx army within range, and many found themselves collapsing before her might, their energy forcibly being drained from their very souls. Kamui's outrage didn't stem from the sight of the Styx Soldiers falling. They weren't his concern. But every Kabochan soldier who fell enraged Kamui more.
What was Amatricina doing? Was she seeking to destroy both sides?
Directing his right pointer finger straight up to the sky, Kamui found himself gathering energy to his fingertip, bright orange energy coalescing just above the fingertip.
Zephyrus's eyes widened as he seemed to recognize what Kamui was doing and reached out, hastily grabbing his commander and interrupting his concentration momentarily.
"That's enough energy to wipe this entire region of the planet off the map! Plus, she will only absorb it!" The Sergeant yelled at Kamui. He was just as horrified as the Cyborg Changeling was, but it wouldn't do anything to go playing around with planet buster techniques such as the legendary technique known as "Supernova", a technique famed to be a favorite of the Planet Trade Organization Emperor, Lord Frieza.
Staring at the Xeno Sergeant a moment, Kamui grunted and pulled his hands away. He could do nothing but watch as Amatricina mercilessly siphoned energy from her own soldiers. Most who fell were still alive, simply exhausted. However, a good few were already suffering from grievous wounds of their own, and the sapping of their energy put the final nail in the coffin. Some fell, and never got back up, taking their last breaths as their life energy was extracting from their body to feed the ever growing dimensional rift.
Eventually, the nightmare ceased, and Amatricina returned to the ground, to stand among her crippled forces, with only Kamui and Zephyrus standing amongst them.
"Damn you!" Kamui growled, frustrated at the demoness.
"You killed some of our own troops, and drained the rest to near death, and expect them to hobble back to their ships? Explain yourself!" Kamui growled as he held out a finger before her, energy once more coalescing at the fingertip, albeit the color was a bright pink this time, instead of a bright orange.
"What have you done to them, you witch..." The Changeling growled lowly.

The fire demon's boundless satisfaction was diminished slightly when the cyborg spoke up. His displeasure was obvious, and one could practically see the displeasure on his face... despite it being emotionless and mostly inorganic in composition. His heart flared with great wrath, to which Amatricina could only chuckle. Did this so called 'frost demon' truly have mercy for these men? Is that the kind of paltry creature the mortals confused for a proper demon? It was insulting as it was irritating. Amatricina stepped towards Kamui, standing feet away from him. "I am damned. Good of you to notice. My race lives in a dimension of darkness and chaos, we are damned by our ancient imprisonment at the hands of the Kais. One I have at least temporarily lifted. Very thoughtful of you to notice." She smiled, making light of the changeling's insult, she was in high spirits and held no desire to bicker with her newfound ally. "And your subordinate, Zephyrus was it, is quite wise. I can see why you keep him as a retainer." Amatricina shrugged, before placed a hand at her hip as she struck a more relaxed stance. "Though I wouldn't have needed to try and absorb anything. I'd just slip through my portal and wait out your blast as I seal it shut. You would have obliterated most of this planet, all for naught. And I would simply recuperate in my realm and return to Carambolis later, when I had the strength to summon another portal. I'm sure he would have been thrilled to know of one of his esteemed colleagues jeopardizing another's mission and destroying a Confederacy world, wouldn't he?" The demon let her idle threat and scenarios hang in the air. If Kamui had been that rash, he was far stupider than he seemed. Amatricina had no intention of fighting him though, not currently at least. She had used an enormous amount of energy to open a portal of this magnitude. Even now her brow was furrowed in intense concentration as she focused her magics to maintain its stability. The demon's eyes glowed with malevolent light and the rubies that ornamented her armor shimmered with radiant energy. "Weakness killed some of my troops, I only tested their strength. Those spared can reflect on their weakness and strive to improve, or be crushed by the next enemy they face who tests them beyond leeching a portion of their ki." She said that word as if it hadn't brought most of the soldiers to an inch from death. The energy needed to sustain large portals was monstrous in the mortal realm. Without ready access to Dark Energy to fuel her dimensional magics, Amatricina needed to extract a heavy toll to find the energy needed elsewhere. This had proven a test of the mortal's spirits, one that many had failed. Amatricina scoffed, both at her army's weakness and Kamui's distress at the situation. The demon scowled, her tone growing curt and harsh with her Lieutenant. "I don't expect them to return to the ships. I command it of them. What I expected was for soldiers of the Crusher Corps to offer a bit more... mettle than this." She gestured behind Kamui with a hand, motioning to the writhing masses of her army struggling to their feat. Amatricina remembered her scouter, and reached her hand into the deep valley of her enormous cleavage to retrieve the small device. She tapped a button, extending the visor before affixing it to her ear. "This is Commander Amatricina, calling into all Crusher Corps ships on all channels. The day is ours, the enemy forces are broken to the last. Send all available dropships and medical personnel to my coordinates for full scale withdrawal of our forces. Maintain defensive perimeter in order in the meantime... and I authorize any transfer of fuel or supplies to the crew of The Dread Spectre upon their request." Amatricina grinned slightly, taking off the device and retracting the scouter's visor. She tucked the earpiece back into its hiding place within her bust and affixed her glare on the cyborg's unflinching gaze. "See Lieutenant? I am not without completely without compassion." Her words haughty and sarcastic, both knew well she only did so to both honor her agreement with Kamui and insure the survival of what remained of her modest forces. The demon smiled, a sinister grin spreading across her face as she exhaled sharply. "For the record Kamui, I am no witch. That is a petty term for petty conjurers who invoke only cheap tricks with their trinkets and spells. No, I am something far grander, I am a sorceress!" The demon raised her hands, clenching them into fists as they crackled with ruinous energy. "And you ask an explanation of me? So be it, I will grant you it..." She turned and motioned to the portal, its surface writhing with malicious dark energy as it clung to the ground like a second skin. A puddle on reality, a kind of portal hole birthed into existence by black magic that defied normal comprehension of existence. "That, is the largest portal to the Demon Realm I have ever summoned. I am quite pride of it, my attempts to claw my way between realms up until now have been little more than brief gashes in the dimensional fabric of space. This... this however is a rancorous open wound. It is magnificent, is it not?" The demon's tone was proud beyond measure, her face beaming with pride at her achievement. "The portal leads to my home planet, a fiery molten world known as Monsigneus. My beloved planet, where I rule my clan from the Obsidian Throne. The rebels have surely perished by now, between my Dark Siphon's effects and the harsh nature environment of my world. A great shame for no one but themselves." She shrugged nonchalantly, uncaring about damning the men to a quick death upon her world. The carrion feeders would gorge on their corpses if the sand sharks and rock worms did not get them first. "Now, continuing on. As we speak I have no doubt my beloved brother Raigu will have sensed my portal, it shouldn't be far from my capital if I performed my spell correctly. Our dear Carambolis promised me the demons inhabiting this world as spoils of war for delivering it back onto his control, and I intend to collect my payment." Amatricina's grin widened, fangs glistening through her smile. "But I cannot do it alone, a world is too much for one demon to scour herself. I would need and entire legion of demons to do it quickly, and I have far better ways to spend my time. Like seeing my beloved siblings again, all two hundred and thirty six of them. I suspect they will be arriving soon."Amatricina could sense it through her portal, but did not know if the changeling or his officer could as well. She did not know if a being needed mastery of magic to sense ki through a rift in dimensions, or if the wormhole was a sufficient looking glass on its own. Regardless, as if on cue three demonic figures slowly began to emerge from the center of the black portal. The first, and the tallest, stood near as tall as the long dead Frieza Force ruler, King Cold. Clad in red and black armor, adorned with a motif of spikes and skulls and trimmed in gold as his eldest sister's was, stood the dread visage of Raigu. The eldest of Amatricina's siblings, and the most powerful save for her. His might was not far behind hers when she had left Monsigneus in his care, and though the gap had widened his was still easily the third strongest being on the planet at present. Arms crossed, a stern look on his face, the demon commander was flanked on either side by two of his other siblings. At Raigu's right stood Sofrito, the second eldest son of the late Lord Tartaros, only a decade or so younger than Raigu. He stood over a foot shorter, still towering over the mortal soldiers in stature though. His armor was more bedecked in onyx jewels and rubies than skulls or spikes. His horns, much like his sister's, were covered in ornate bands of gold, rings and bells, all to announce his grandiose presence with every step. His form was less massive than his brother, raw muscle replaced with a toned physique built more so for speed and agility, not raw power and fortitude. Regardless, he was still an incredibly formidable warrior, having been Amatricina's most competitive rival in their youth. And finally, the third horseman of the Apocalypse, standing at Raigu's left was the beautiful Arissa. The second eldest daughter of Tartaros and Bonara, she stood just under six feet in height, a far cry from her towering brothers and still an inch or two shorter than Amatricina herself. A more formidable sorceress than her brothers, though a capable warrior none the less. Her figure was less buxom than her elder sister, her curves not quite as pronounced. A point of much sibling rivalry in their youth, she still flaunted them quite openly. Though Arissa wore gauntlets and armored boots as her sister, she would forgo a metal brassiere for a flowing black sorcerer's robe. It hugged her figure splendidly, giving her a much softer and less intimidating appearing than either of her elder brothers. Behind the three eldest began to emerge more demons, glad in armor and mail, carrying rifles or weapons in hand. Hundreds as first, rising from the inky black mass and forming ranks behind their superiors. Hundreds soon grew to thousands, and thousands swelled to more and more. The demonic legion's ranks continued to swell as they filled the plaza proper, beginning to spill outwards into the surrounding streets. The demons of the legion were not entirely fire demons in nature. Though Amatricina's kind composed the vast bulk of the forces, auxiliary troops of lesser demonic races crawled forth under their fire demon officers. Weaker clans of lesser races, that had long ago lost a war with her kind of pledged their fealty in exchange for their continued survival. Even as Kamui and the Confederacy troops would watch more demons continued to stream through the portal, taking up every available foot of space as they jostled into reasonably orderly formations. Officers and commanders stood at attention at heads of their divisions, young siblings and half siblings of their Demon Lord, eager to impress their elder sisters and brothers and claim more standing within the clan's hierarchy. "Behold." Amatricina said with tears welling in her eyes as she met her siblings gazes. "My beloved legion."

It was a frustrating thought.
Perhaps it was Kamui's own beliefs, strong as they were, that prevented him from evaluating the situation correctly. He was too hyped up on emotions to properly think at the time, and now that Amatricina was before him, he came to realize that Zephyrus was right. It wouldn't have done to go out and unleash an attack of this caliber. Now against this woman. He still wanted to kill her, to wipe that ugly smirk off of her face. But he couldn't. He knew he couldn't. She was an affiliate of Cam's, and as such held use to Cam. Thus, he couldn't strike. Even if he heavily desired to.
Instead, he ceased the charge for his energy attack and crossed his arms over his chest.
"When it comes to my own soldiers, I desire for us to bond, as if we were family. Each soldier within my ranks is to become a brother or sister to the man or woman standing next to them. I will be tough on them, I will instruct them as I see fit, but I will seek to better them. To challenge them and set the bar where they can excel. A commander is not a commander if he does have troops under his command. A stronger military force, bred through teamwork and hardship will only be that more effective. You treat your soldiers as pawns to be thrown and replaced. You do not care as to whether they become stronger or not for their hardship. To you, if all these men were to die before you as a result of that stunt you pulled, I doubt you would've cared, for your primary objective was fulfilled. Or perhaps you would've cared, yet not for their lives, but for your image to Emperor Cam. Had they died, the high mortality rate would've certainly raised some eyebrows up in command, if that concerns you any."
Kamui's eyes gradually rested upon Amatricina's frame once more, examining her in a brand new light," I am no saint. I care not for the Styx Defenders who we just vanquished, for they do not represent my own. I have committed sins upon this galaxy, and I have not even reached the age of twenty. However, I do have my own principles that I adhere to. You are a Demon Warlord, and I a soldier and idealist." He was less saying it for Amatricina to hear, and more to convince himself. She came from a realm that was not his own, and from a culture unlike most within the mortal realm. She already made it clear that her kind and that of mortals were leagues different. There was even a good chance she truly believed herself superior.
His attention then turned to the portal as it began to ripple, as if one dropped a stone into a deep body of water. What he witnessed next was....astounding to say the least. Large...no, towering demons of humanoid appearance spawned from the portal. Amatricina's siblings, as the woman hinted, emerged from the midnight black hole. Following them were hundreds, if not thousands of demons, as if they were crawling from the deepest pits of Hell...or well, the Demon Realm. A legion of soldiers, spawning from the portal, seemingly never ending.
"It's like...a nightmare." Zephyrus whispered, his eyes wide with shock. Kamui meanwhile, kept a rather stoic, emotionless expression of his voice, which wasn't necessarily difficult to maintain, considering his cybernetic situation couldn't exactly....express much emotion anyway.
However, inwardly he had to admit he was slightly intimidated. These people were unlike any he had ever seen in his young life. Throughout his existence, he had seen more Xenos then many could claim by his age, and had met some pretty nightmarish looking people. Yet, at the end of the day, Kamui could say that everyone he met was mortal, and of flesh and blood, as he was. These people were something else. A race beyond the mortal realm. Of a divine race that he was not. These people were demons. Not Frost Demons, as he was, but actual demons. Born and bred in the Demon Realm, and were now crawling their way up to the mortal realm.
With an army such as this, and a whole planet that belonged to her....Amatricina already had more at her disposal then most could ever claim to. And now she was adding more to the mix? More demons to her army? It was almost too much to take in. What did Amatricina wish to do with this world? With the many others like it? Why was she even following Cam? What were her true intentions?
Too many questions, and too few answers.
"I see....so this was your intent with this world." Kamui began, his tail striking the ground once more. Then, he turned sharply on his heel and began to walk away from the woman and her growing legion.
"An entire army at your disposal, siblings loyal to your intent. Walking around in a realm that only now became of interest to you. Cold and callous towards the mortal soldiers who serve you, but looking with watering eyes at your own soldiers who share the same blood as you. How interesting. Amatricina, you do interest me. One day, I would love to pick you apart, in a metaphoric sense, of course. However, I am afraid now is not the time, as you are beginning to make clear, so I will leave it there. However..."
Kamui stopped moving for a moment, and turned back to face her.
"As you said, if I ever want the full version of your story, to invite you for some wine and well seasoned red meat. Consider me already purchasing the provisions from a Brench supplier. I trust, in our service to Emperor Carambolis, we will meet once more, under less dark terms." Kamui said, before turning his back on the demon lord for a final time, this time not bothering to look back. Zephyrus, after bowing slightly in Amatricina's direction, moved to follow his commander.
Only once they were out of earshot, did Zephyrus speak.
"Do you believe that one day she will become a problem?" Zephyrus asked, sincerely concerned after such a display of power as the type that Amatricina displayed in the past few moments.
Kamui responded with a simple nod at first, his body becoming suddenly enveloped in a teal aura as he shot into the sky, intent on flying back to their starfighters. The very ones they used to land on the planet's surface in the first place. It wasn't until the citadel was a tiny speck in the distance did Kamui answer.
"That's Carambolis's problem."

The Demon Lord turned back to face the cyborg Changeling and his crimson officer, a tear of joy rolling down her cheek from the sight or her clan once more. She missed them as dearly as a mother misses her child. Despite her immense pride, her selfishness, her ravenous hunger for power. Amatricina did everything not just for herself, she did it for them. For the Fire Demon Clan, her legacy and her birthright, the greatest treasure she would pass down to her heir. A living testament to the strength of her rule. Her elation was clear on her face, and her boundless pride shone through as she opened her mouth to speak. "Then you and I are not so different as you think, Kamui Solaris. You bond with your soldiers, treat them as kin and companion. My bonds lie only with my clan, they are my family, my most coveted possession. I would gladly die if it meant they would be spared, a trade I extend to no other being in this realm or any other." Her gaze hardened, and her tone grew fierce once more. "You are right though. These men are but tools to me, fodder to used to achieve my goals, little better than chattel. My concerns for their survival are only keep from losing favor with Emperor Carambolis, a being who I begrudgingly respect only because of his superior strength to my own. But, were these my soldiers, my demons, my LEGION, I would have been at the head of our host plunging the tip of the spear deep into the enemy ranks. Challenging their leaders, and their greatest champions to single combat. Tearing their skulls from their bodies to add to my trophy case, as I have done for over a millennia, both in my father's service and my own." Amatricina scowled as the cyborg attempted to lecture her, it was putting a damper on her moment of triumph. "You know nothing of my intentions for this world. I struck a bargain, pledged an other to a stronger power. I intend to honor it, I will be seen a liar." She called out to the warrior as he had the gall to turn and walk away before she was finished. The Demon Lord turned, rising high into the air above the plaza to address her legion. "Warriors of the Fire Demon Clan, heed your Warlord's call!" Her voice booming, authoritative and certain as it had ever been. "Welcome to the Mortal Realm, and the planet of Styx. This world is ours for the taking, its defenders already crushed beneath your Warlord's molten fist. This world is rife with lesser demons, clanless exiles and cravens who hide here under the authority of a warlord no longer around to protect them. Spread out over this world my legion. Scour it in my name, bring back every demon you find, live or dead! Let them suffer in service to our clan for their weakness, as so many others have before them!" There was a roar of applause, raucous cheering as the demonic legion heard their master's words. "But know this..." Amatricina added, her tone turning harsh and cold. "Not one mortal is to be harmed it if it can be spared. Any demon foolish enough to try and feast upon them, or drag them back to our world will know slow death by my hand. Plunder this world, loot everything of value for our hoard! Claim every rebellious demon you see as a slave! But spare the mortals, your Warlord wills it." The demoness pointed her head to the blazing sun overhead, hanging high in the skies over Styx. "We have one full cycle of this star to finish our looting, then we return to our realm. Any demon too slow to heed my word will be left behind, forced to suffer the same fate as the fools of this world. Now go forth my legion, claim what is rightfully ours!" Amatricina raised a fist high above her head, her aura surging out as demonic energy poured from her body. Her legion bellowed triumphantly in response, taking to the skies and fanning out in all directions like a fel plague ready to cleanse the planet of demonic presence. Plundering gold, silver, and gems along the way. A despoiler's hoard, avaricious to the core. The three eldest siblings of Amatricina stood unmoving even as the legion dispersed in all directions. They merely watched their sister, arms crossed or hands at their hips as they awaited her to land. The demon warlord slowly lowered to the ground, walking to the trio as she smiled ear to ear. Upon reaching them Amatricina did something incredibly out of character for one that did not know her well. She reached out, arms wide, hugging her towering brother Raigu. Though she was barely half his height she threw herself into his arms and embraced him warmly as only an elder sister could. The Fire Demon Clan's Supreme Commander returned the embrace, though making great effort to preserve his masculinity. Once finished with Raigu she withdrew, extending a hug to Sofrito as well. Despite their still fearsome sibling rivalry, the High Admiral of the Infernal Fleet accepted her hug, doing his damnest not to express his happiness to see his sister. Once through Arissa could hardly wait her turn, throwing herself into Amatricina's arms personally. The two laughed as they hugged, close friends reunited at last. The Master Sorceress was still giggling as she pulled away and resumed a more ladylike stance befitting of her position. Raigu was the first to break the silence that followed, shifting in place and crossing his arms once more. "It is good to see again, dear Sister. But what is the meaning of all this? This portal, this world, these orders. This was not what I had in mind when you told me you were returning to the mortal realm." "It is unorthodox, that much I agree on you about dear Brother." Amatricina said in reply, meeting her brother's questioning gaze. "It is the result of fortuitous circumstances, nothing more. I struck a bargain with the mortals who once this planet, and by my hand we shall return it to them.""Return it them!?" Sofrito blurted out, a scowl forming on his sinister face. "We could easily conquer this world for our own. You even crushed their armies yourself for us." "And do what with it brother!? Rule, from two different realms!?" Amatricina said back, rearing up and headbutting her brother hard. Locking horns with him as their eyes met inches from each other. "Do you think me so daft I did not consider simply taking it as my own? Tell me then Brother, do I cut our clan in half? Leave one half here without our fleet, and leave the other half outnumbered in the Demon Realm by our rivals? Father raised you better than this. I place more trust in your than to hear such ignorant remarks within minutes of your arrival." Amatricina drew back, exhaling a jet of fire from her nostrils in her anger. Sofrito was too short sighted, it was why he would never rise above commanding her fleet. He saw everything as a nail, his only tool was a hammer. Sofrito rubbed at his bruised head, his pride more wounded than he was. "I apologize, Sister. You are right, we'd only weaken ourselves as a whole trying to rule planets in two dimensions." The fire demon bowed his head low in apology before speaking again. "You've grown stronger, dear Sister. You never hurt that badly before." Amatricina nodded. "Apology accepted, dear Brother. And yes, I have." The demoness flexed her muscles, clenching her fists. "This realm has tested me in ways I did not expect. There are mortals far beyond our strength. I have trained ceaselessly, and though my power grows I cannot yet hope to match the greatest of them." Amatricina turned her gaze to her siblings, concern in her eyes. "I love you all, with the whole of my black heart. I do not wish to see any of you slain, or any of our siblings for that matter. I beseech you to redouble your training. Hone your magics, it is a gift few mortal possess. No matter how much your strength do not stop, for trust, I have seen beings who would make even our realm tremble before their might." Her words were heartfelt and her siblings nodded. "And what of this dear Sister?" Arissa said softly, gesturing to the portal beneath their feet. "This is beyond even your power. There is no Dark Energy in this accursed realm. I felt its presence fade the moment I stepped through your rift. This place is so... empty, compared to our realm. How do you stand it?" Again Amatricina nodded in agreement. "I siphoned the life force of two mortal armies, mine and the enemy both in order to create this gift to our clan. I admit I am not strong enough to sustain it on my own. It is one of many reasons I am glad to see you all. That said, our kind is too reliant on the Dark Energy in our realm. Its power is vast, and intoxicating, but is utterly absent from this mortal realm. We must ween ourselves of its influence, so that it can be our edge when we draw upon it, not our norm. Arissa, your portals are even more adept than mine, I want all our siblings to begin meditating in the mortal realm, even if only briefly. Reducing my dependency on our dark power had done wonders for improving my own natural strength. Understood?"Arissa nodded, as did her two brothers. Amatricina sighed, reaching forth and pulling the four together into a group hug. It would have been embarrassing only weeks ago, but she had dearly missed her clan, and her siblings most of all. When she withdrew her face was painted in steadfast resolve. "I have missed you all so much. We have so many things to discuss. Now, each of you take a corner. I will need your help maintaining this portal until our legion has scoured this world." The fire demon siblings nodded, each picking a corner and summoning their demonic ki. It was the first time the four had worked together on something in unison in years. A rare moment of bonding for the otherwise dissonant progeny of Tartaros.
