TEN YEARS AGO, Other World
Golden light crackled around Radia as she got up out of the dirt and shot back into the pink sky like a missile. Master Shin with his mowhak of white hair and elfin features merely smirked and motioned for her to attack again. Her fist hit an invisible wall of willpower, crackling and sparking as she tried to drive forward. There was no way for her to blink past his psychic barrier, fight against it as she may.
He was strong. But, she was getting stronger by the day.
With a roar, she veered straight up instead and cupped her hands above her head. Ki snapped and popped across her fingertips as she formed a giant crimson sphere, roiling with buzzing lightning. Grunting, she whipped it down at him.
Shin watched in silent amusement and held up a single finger as it loomed in on him, bathing the entire planetoid with its reddish glow.
A singe precise blue beam shot through the center mass, spitting the orb in twain. Radia's eyes went wide with horror as the same beam struck her in the chin. Her head snapped back, blood and spittle flying from her lips. And she fell, aura fading and hair flopping back to black right before she hit the ground.
The landing created a massive plume of dust and debris. She lay there, eyes closed and trembling. She couldn't move her head and neck.
Shin glided down, barely stirring a blade of grass outside of the smoking hole. He walked up, holding one hand out. "You're tenacious, but a bit reckless. Fighting a stronger foe is never easy, you have to use misdirection and clever tricks to draw them off guard."
White light enveloped her frame and moments later, the pain was gone. She felt renewed again. The crushing wave of zenkai power rippled through her and she jumped up, heart thundering in her chest.
"Let's go again!"
"No," Master Shin said. "That's enough for today."
He materialized a clay cup with water in it, offering it to her with a gentle smile. She frowned and took the cup, sipping the cool liquid. It quenched her dry throat and she relaxed a bit as her body adjusted to the new power.
"I never said it but, thanks for everything Master. I can't wait to get back to New Sadla and show my sister how strong I've become. She's probably seven or eight now."
"You should return soon I think. But, we may need reconvene your training at a later date."
"Master," Radia said, looking down at her cup. "I've been doing a lot of thinking."
"I want to reunite the Saiyans. Now that I know how to become a Super Saiyan, I can teach others to become one too. Like Taro, my sister, and Captain Onyon. We could fight together to save the galaxy. It doesn't just have to be me, you know. Not sure why you even picked me. You could have chosen the hero Polaris, he's one of the greatest Galactic Patrolmen."
Master Shin seemed to chew on her words for a long minute, staring off into the swirling yellow clouds of Other World. Radia found it ever the strange place. It filled her with a renewing energy. It was like she never got tired while she was here.
"I admire Polaris, but my gut tells me the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Besides, I picked you because you remind me of an old friend."
"His name was Goku. He was a Saiyan too. He went on a lot of adventures and was always there to help stop threats that would swallow the whole universe."
"A hero then?"
"Something like that."
"I don't understand one thing. You're training me to help against threats, right?" Radia paused to take another long sip. "Why exactly can't you handle them? You're way stronger than me."
Master Shin chuckled. "Well, Radia--there's a few reasons. I'm really not allowed to get directly involved with the coming and going of mortals. In fact, what I'm doing with you is a secret, so please keep it one. There is a balance to things, between creation and destruction. Mortals live in that balance, and exercise it. I am supposed to make sure life is able to persist, and those struggles can continue to happen. Plus--my friend Goku was leagues stronger than I ever will be."
Radia' face about melted at that comment. Having spent nearly a year on and off training by herself and with Master Shin, she didn't think there was a stronger being in existence. "How?"
Master Shin looked at the ground, slight shame on his features. "Well, I've never been a good fighter. And, you Saiyans are uncanny in your ability to progress."
She couldn't argue with that. She was already tens of times stronger than she had been at the start of their sessions.
FAR ORBIT, Mitra
Seventy five ships appeared out of hyperspace all at once. The majority of Dominion's fleets. It's fullest strength and power, prepared clash with the Throne of the Empire--Mitra. At this distance, the planet was a tiny silver speck. They stayed just out of gun range, but close enough that they could make direct line of sight signal contact.
Aboard the largest ship, the Queen's Resolve, Radia stood with her arms folded in front of her. She watched the flowing blocks of information come off the data-scans. Mitra was blooming to life, its defense systems and ships already moving into intercept positions. Barbarians were at the gates after all.
"Knock knock, Emperor."
She motioned to the comms officer to open up a channel to Polaris.
As soon as they were connected, she stared at the wretched little Frieza Clansmen. She had once admired him, hoped to be a hero like him. But, time and suffering had changed the outlook. He was an insipid liar, one that used her Dominion as scapegoats for his own plot to overthrow the Galactic King and seize power.
"Emperor Polaris," she said. "If you surrender yourself to me, there needs not be any bloodshed today. The Empire itself can resume function as the Galactic Patrol. They will be assimilated in the Dominion and return to being the peacekeepers of the galaxy, as they have been for thousands of years. You on the other hand will stand trial for the assassination of the Galactic King."
Simple terms. But, ones she only offered because, despite what the Empire claimed, the Dominion were not savages. The events on Tech Tech probably challenged that notion, but reparations could be made for the lost, once Tech Tech joined the Dominon as well.
The other operation was underway, with Captain Etohn leading the spearhead on Abbayor and Captain Quash lending fleet support. It was a smaller crew, but some of her strongest were present. Once that planet was in the Dominion's hands, they would have even more leverage against Polaris. It would ruin his reputation as the protector of the galaxy. Confidence in him would wain. The people would have their spirit broken. If Abbayor wasn't safe, nowhere in the Empire was.OOC: Go ahead and RP your introduction onto the scene.
