HOTEL LUCKY, Space VegasThe sun beat down on Ras's face and he woke, sucking back air into his lungs as if he had been given life. He was met with a splitting headache and a horrible kink in his neck. He was using some girl's thigh as a pillow, and it wasn't the best. As he sat up and glanced around, realzing that he was suspended in nest of half-naked human girls. Plump breasts, elbows, legs, strands of brown and golden hair all mixed into one indescribable mass. He didn't know where one lady began and the other ended. Normally he would have found such a vision gratifying, but the damn headache sapped him of that. Apparently, the women cleaned house on him the night prior, because he didn't even feel any stirrings at the sensual sight. Gods, he needed water. Pulling himself out of the bodies, a few ladies tried to pull him back in. But, he ripped and tore until he was free, staggering towards the open window. Wincing, he closed the blinds and ceased the insidious light from penetrating his sensitive eyes. The only water he could find was the tap in the bathroom. He cupped his hands, letting the cool stream pool there before sucking back a long drink. As he did so, his memories started to reform in his mind. They were hazy, the details blurred by the drunken stupor he had been in. This was what, the third night of his partying? Ras the Blade--Slayer of Super Saiyans. It didn't matter what club or run-down bar he walked into on Space Vegas. He was known. People bought him drinks. The party had been non-stop. He froze in terror as he stared at his dark circled reflection. Where was it? His sword--the Royal Armament of Kabocha. He thrust himself away from the bathroom mirror and stumbled into the bedroom. "Girls, where's my sword?"One brunette with bright red lip stick reached up, taking hold of both hips. "Right here milord, still in its scabbard." He pushed her face away with an absent hand. "No. Shit, shit sh-"Both of his amber eyes scrutinized the mess of a hotel room for any inkling of steel and leather. Nothing. There were plenty of empty bottles and pieces of women's clothing. But, no weapon. Ras dressed in a hurry, pulling his trousers on. More of the girls were waking now, having much the same befuddled expression he had moments ago. They mentioned stuff about the previous night, but he was in too much of a frenzy to think or listen. The ride down the lift into the lobby was arduous, but he used it to try and concentrate. Ras closed both eyes, and it felt good--soothing. He could hear the cadence of his heart thundering in his chest. Where did he have the sword last? Where would he have set it down? A lot of the places he went into didn't allow weapons indoors. So, he usually left them at the entrance in a lockbox. The swarming metropolis met of gleaming buildings met him as he stepped through the front doors and into the day. Hover-cars zipped by overhead. People pushed past in droves, headed on their commute to work. It was all overwhelming after walking a few blocks, he found a bench and sat in it, pushing both hands into his face. "Fuck!" he yelled. A woman walking her dog furrowed a brow at him and skirted around. He couldn't remember where he had been. That was bad, real bad.

A literal black cloud had gathered menacingly around Raijin as he walked up the street, frustrated. Due to his negligence when paying his tabs, most of the drinking spots and gambling locales in Space Vegas rejected his entry. His heart felt sunken, his eyes looked sunken, and he wasn't yet drunken. This was not his best morning whatsoever. The youth was walking sullenly, his head down, ignoring the eyes that had gathered to focus solely on him and his gloomy forecast. His manipulation of the weather was probably jarring for an outsider to believe, but his reputation around the area was that of a good-for-nothing.
'Watch out for the Knife-Eared Weather Warlock!'
Raijin didn't like the title. It sounded cheesy. The half-blood made sure that the clouds drizzled on some of the people that walked too close to him, just slightly ruining their day. Perfect. He continued down the street, sober and frustrated. Today was just gonna be one of those days were nothing interesting happened, and nobody showed up to make things move along. Rai had been waiting for Lute or Kuueru to reach out to him, give him some sort of task to keep him occupied. The Shinjin cross-breed had heard nothing for some time. Not that he doubted them, he just wished for something to do.
It was in that moment, when nearing a bench he liked to nap on when he would get kicked out of Hotel Lucky, he heard a man curse, presumably having a day similar to his own.
“Fuck!”
A woman glanced at him inquisitively before going back to walking her canine companion. Raijin glanced at him inquisitively before making his way over to the bench, sitting down. The man looked young. Rai had been completely out of the loop in terms of news and current events going on in New Vegas, and was unaware of Ras' status or recent success. To Raijin he looked like an upset young man with a pony-tail. Nothing too special. Still, this was one of those moments the compulsive youth liked to consider 'fate'. Here this individual was, having a crappy day, probably in the middle of some interesting chain of events. On top of that?
His strength. It wasn't something the hybrid could overlook. Looking him up and down, Rai realized very quickly that this individual was in a league similar to his own. In fact, it felt like he was actually a bit stronger than him. Rai allowed the gloomy weather above them to disperse with a wave of his hand, smiling at the stranger and reaching into his robes. He fumbled around for a second before producing a small case of pre-rolled joints, popping it open. There was one left. Shit. He had gone overboard last night, apparently. Little did he know that was something the pair had in common.
Withdrawing the small 'cigarette' from it's case he lit it unceremoniously, taking a long haul from it. Smoke billowed from his mouth as he greeted the stranger, its' pungent odor lingering in the air. This guy seemed frantic. He should probably calm down. Rai personally knew of no better way to bring someone down than to smoke some of Earth's finest. Leaning forward, he handed the joint to the Kabochan, beginning to speak:
“Try this thing on for size, man. Whatever's wrong, you need to chill out. Nobody did themselves any good being that worked up. Take it down a notch, you'll think better. You're stressing out way too much, I get it. I'm having one of those days too. That's why I'm sharing the last of my special herb with you! Let's work this shit out, what's plaguing you my good man? You're much too powerful to be having some stupid problem, what's your troubled backstory? What's missing in your life?”
Raijin felt like helping someone out for a change of pace. Mostly, he did what he wanted. It can't hurt to make friends out of a few more strong folks, maybe find a good fight or scam a few tricks off of them. Who knows? This could be something to do today. Rai needed something to entertain him, or he might just go off the deep end completely. He wasn't known for his sobering lifestyle or healthy decisions.

Ras pulled his hands away from his face only to see an exotic man standing before him. There was something ethereal, otherworldly about him. He had sharp ears and handsome that reminded Ras of a Konatsian. His clothes were mundane--looking out of this century though, as if the guy had stole them off some historical reenactment dummy. Ras wasn't a fashion aficionado, but he at least tried to keep with the newer trends. Came with the territory of being a man in the public eye. The stranger began smoking, the air filling immediately with a strange stench. It was strong, pungent, but also slightly sweet. Ras, still foggy of mind, took the offered cigarette and rolled it through his fingertips. "Special herb, eh?"An older gentlemen in a suit and tie walked past stopping to scowl at the stranger. "Fucking stoners kids. Get a job." The comment caught Ras off guard, and he perked an eyebrow in confusion. What did any of this have to do with stoning people to death? Regardless, he peeled open his coat and stuffed the cigarette in the inner pocket for safe keeping. Healers and spiritualist on Kabochan used herbs and drugs to enhance their spiritual abilities. Ras figured that this was the same type of deal, so he would inhale it later, perhaps for some reflection. For now, he had to be clear of mind to help recover what he had lost. "Trust me, I'm not like this normally. It's just--I lost something precious to me. Something I vowed my Dad that I would look after. I am trying to remember where I left it. But, my memory is all foggy."He rubbed his temples, fighting the headache some more. "I drank way too much last night."Ever since Ras had left Kabocha, at his father's request, things had been spiraling out of control. He had left with a small fortune, enough to buy him sanctuary and a nice lifestyle. But, he also had been followed around by bodyguards and retainers at all times. They pestered him without end and tried to keep him from doing anything. Ras hated boredom, feeling like his life wasn't moving. During his youth he had always dreamed of running away, of fleeing from his Princedom to make it big on his own. Unlike others he knew, children of aristocrats, he didn't like the notion of relying on his father's fame as the King of Kabocha and the entitlements passed down to him. No, Ras wanted to earn those things by striking it big on his own first. After he learned of his Father's death at the hands of assassins, he had been distraught and resentful. So, he fled the watchful eye of his entourage, leaving behind his fortune and protection. At first he had enough to get by, but his funds had been dwindling as he blew them on his bad habits and selfish desires. He had been broke, only days ago. Right up until he entered the Battle Royale. He won, but the actual winnings had been modest. Enough to get him some food and a place to stay. The real value came in getting his name out there and all the tribute people had given him in response. Strong fighters were highly regarded on Space Vegas, a surprise as humans didn't seem to value strength like other species. The attention had some advantages, but also the misfortune of distracting him. Now he was paying for it. "I wish there was a way for me to know the bars I visited last night and what happened there."

Raijin shot a glare at the man who cursed them out, waving his hand casually. A cloud formed above the gentleman and began raining, the mass of vapor set to follow him around for the rest of the day. The man began running frantically, trying to avoid the cloud but to no luck. The shinjin half-blood was not feeling particularly forgiving. There was no reason to judge anyone else's lifestyle, or to tell him to work. Raijin never liked work.
The youth was shocked when Ras pocketed the joint, appropriately stealing it. This guy didnt have great smokers etiquette, huh? Either way, Raijin chose to remain silent as the stranger spoke. The Kabochan expressed his frustration with losing something precious to him- a gift from his father. Apparently this had happened on a rather intense night of drinking. Rai couldn't help but cringe at all the horrible things he had done whilst drunk, and he felt bad for the other man.
So, when Ras made a particular wish, Raijin thought it could be interesting if they could retrace his steps. It was times like this when his good ol' handy spellbook would become of use to the duo. Since finding it, Rai was hesitant to call on the demonic book. It was a spirit of avarice, and tended to exacerbate Raijin's underlying mental issue of slight insanity and greed. The frustrating thing about it was that it actually was a reliable font of information. The book had belonged to a lesser Demonic Lord who compiled his entire library into one book, binding it with some of his own essence.
The problem was he hated the things' personality, really. It talked and talked and talked, revealing far too much about Raijin to the prying eye. Rai feigned being an open book, for fear of anyone becoming privy to his inner machinations. I guess that's why he hated a book that could never shut up.
Either way, he materialized the cursed book from its hiding place, nestled in his robes carefully by his heart. Even if he found the thing frustrating, he coveted it. It was his most precious belonging, the only thing of value he really owned. In fact, without it he never would have discovered more about his own father.
The moment that it was withdrawn, a single strange eye fluttered open in the center of the book. It glanced between the two, before bursting out into hysterical laughter.
"Oh, my they get younger everytime! I swear, I swear! Raijin, why are you finally letting me breath air now? What do you need?" the book asked, its voice commanding and authoritative. It had one more question, one it would have asked with a grin if it could smile.
"More importantly, what's in it for me?"
Rai scowled at the book, hitting it off the ground to 'dust it'. The book yelped in pain and cursed Raijin and his lineage for a few moments before Rai finally answered.
"Give us a spell to show us where this fine young gentleman was last night! I want every little detail painted for us!"
As compulsively as Rai decided to help the complete stranger next to him retrace his steps, the book began to flip through its own pages. Finally it stopped on one with some nice illustrations titled, "Following Psychic Imprints for Dummies!"
Usually the book was more serious than that, it must be mad about the whole 'dusting'. His suspicions were confirmed when the book spoke, its voice condescending and demanding.
"Alright, dumbasses! Now I need something valuable to eat! Cough it up!"
Rai reached into his pockets, pulling out...
Nothing. Looking over to Ras, he flashed a charming smile. "Uhm, I absolutely can find you your lost object. But, first the book does need something valuable or he'll give us a spell that will backfire. Have any gold on you? He loves to eat gold, silver... anything precious."
This was a strange request.

The book needs something value.Ras thought for a second he had actually ingested the sacred herb. Despite being the forlorn Prince of Kabocha, he had little personal experience with real magic. Well, the Royal Armament possessed magic and incredible power. However, it was of a different nature. The magic was... subtle. The knife-eared stranger had magic of a whole different and far weirder nature. Ras had always been skeptical of magic. He remembered reading about the Sorcerer Kings of Kabocha. It was they who had brought for the Tree of Might. The Tree had grown like a parasite into the lush world, sucking and sapping its genki until the entire planet was a husk of its former self. All to produce fruit that lent great power to those that consumed it. At the time it had probably seemed like a good idea. But, because of the actions of those people in the past, Kabocha never fully recovered to its former glory. That was saying a lot too. Even in its current state the plant was among the richest across the stars. He had a choice here. Walk away. Try something else. But what? The fogginess of his mind prevented him from thinking clearly, of seeing another way out of this bad situation. So what did that mean? It meant he needed to find something of value. "I appreciate the help," Ras said and rubbed the back of his head. "What's your name by the way? I'm Ras the Blade."Ras didn't have any gold or precious metals. He had owned a few nice rings, but pawned those off weeks ago when he was was broke. Sure after his Battle Royale win, he had a zeni card in his back pocket, but doubted the thing in the book took credit. Space Vegas, especially this part of town, was quite ritzy. Nearly every person that walked by had a nice ring, a necklace, earrings--something of worth. Ras wasn't really into mugging innocent bystanders, even if they were wealthy. "Hey, follow me. I have an idea actually."He led the knife-eared companion back to Hotel Lucky. The words were presented as grand neon holograms. The doors frames and handles themselves appeared to be made out of gold, but it was just an edifice. Palm trees lined the boulevard outside of it. The building stretched for the heavens, rising far above the other smaller businesses and office buildings flanking it. An android stood outside, smiling and greeting everything. She was fully mechanical, as far as Ras could tell. But, fleshed out to look just like a supermodel, with a busty chest and elegant curves. She even had a nice set of bangles on her forearm. "Welcome back to Hotel Lucky, Ras the Blade." Ras pretended to be staring into space as he walked up to the machine. It veered out of the way, but he shifted his weight pretending to trip. As he came down, he crashed into the back of its leg, throwing his shoulder into it with some extra force. The android's leg popped inward and it went down over the top of him. With superior reflexes, the bot managed to careen and land away from him, rolling a bit to the side. Onlookers outside of the hotel let out sounds of concern or amusement at the scene. "I'm so sorry," Ras said. He rolled and got back to his feet, hovering over the bot. It bore a bewildered expression on its face, having clearly never brought harm to a human before. "I am sorry sorry Ras the Blade. I did not mean for us to have a collision. Are you okay? Do you need me to call the paramedics?" Ras's hand reached down to the bot's wrist, coiling around it and her bangle. He yanked, helping her up in a smooth motion. She stumbled, her knee servos clearly busted. A little sleight of hand went a long way though. "Don't worry about it."As he walked away and back up to the knife-eared fellow, he had one of its golden bangles hidden in his sleeve. There was a small park at the end of the street. In the center of it stood a marble statue of the Lord and Savior of Earth, Mister Satan. Clear of any prying eyes, Ras pulled out the bangle and tried to drop it into his new friend's palm.

Raijin watched as Ras considered the strangeness of his request, before introducing himself and thanking Raijin for his help. Grinning, the half-breed returned the favor. "The name is Raijin. My title isn't as cool, or fancy as yours, so I'm not gonna waste my breath." he stated, sliding the book into his robes.
A moment after, Ras signified that he had an idea. He took off, and Rai followed him. They returned to the elaborately decorated Hotel Lucky, and Raijin was hesitant to enter. He owed a large debt here! However, standing strategically behind Ras as he approached the android that had actually once asked Raijin to leave at an earlier date. Rai couldn't recall why.
Either way, it was a success. Ras was noticed, the halfling was not. A moment later, Ras went tumbling down with the mechanical entity, before scrambling to his feet. He helped the girl up, and Rai couldn't help but notice a slick trick of sleight of hand on his newfound friend's part. Raijin stifled a laugh as he spun on his heels, making for the exit.
He didnt want them to get caught so he'd have to pay. They made there way to a small park, with a pretty sweet Hercule statue built in it. Raijin loved Hercule. Hercule comics, Hercule TV shows... Oh, even the classic Hercule Vs. Cell movie. That was so good. Realizing he had gotten distracted, he turned to face Ras. His companion produced a small bangle, the same one Raijin had seen him swipe off the wrist of the robotic guide.
Rai snatched the bangle up and dangled it above the book, withdrawing it again from its' hiding place. A strange paper tongue flicked out from the book, wrapping around the jewelry and gulping it down with a sickening crunching and grinding sound. The book laughed at the pair, eyeing Ras with its' single eye. "...Rai, buddy. Keep this guy around! He knows how to bring me some expensive food! Oh, yeah. This'll work."
The book flung open once more, the possessed collection of spells cycling through the multitude of options. The spell from earlier finally came into view, and Rai began to read. It was a simple spell. A short casting time. The trick was this: you have to follow the psychic imprint backtracking from the exact moment you cast the spell. Meaning they'd have to backtrack through his entire day today before making it to last night.
This was going to be annoying. Raijin began focusing his energy, ethereal plasma crackling on his fingertips. This happened everytime he did magic, it seemed. It was the way his body channelled and processed the influx of raw power. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath, holding it for longer than one would expect him capable of.
When he exhaled, a strange, smokey mist came from his lungs, surrounding Ras yet not obscuring his vision. If the youth paid attention, it would direct him towards the Hotel Lucky, and then further into his past. From what Rai understood, the spell had an effect like nostalgia, while it psychically influences your subconscious mind to recreate a specific action. If a particularly memorable event happened in the spot, one may find a hallucinogenic effect from the vapor, forcing the individual to relive the entire experience, no matter how long, over the span of several seconds.
All in all, it sounded like a good time. Rai would cast this spell on himself later, see how trippy it got him. First, he was excited to see how his new friend behaved on this. If his night was filled with as much nonsense as a normal night that Raijin had, today could turn out to be far less boring than he anticipated. Rai figured he should warn this, 'Ras the Blade.' He was in for quite the trip.
"Listen, uh, pal. This is gonna be rough. Just keep inhaling the fumes, the cloud will follow you, and, uh, you will sorta follow it. You have to do whatever it tells you to do. Just live through it, let the magic flow through you. It could be a fun little trip, I'm sure you've always wanted to relive a night! Well, uh, here you go! This ones on the house." he explained, cracking a joke at the end. On the house?
This was actually shaping up to be some fun. Raijin just wished he had some mind altering substances of his own so he could get on the same level as his newfound friend. It's sometimes annoying being a sober baby sitter, but today he was with a famous guy. A high famous guy. It'll probably be chill, right?

In the quiet solace of the park, Ras breathed in the strange vapor that Raijin exhaled. It had a sharp scent, tickling his nose. At first he recoiled away from it, but with the knife-eared man's instructions he relaxed. There was no point in struggling against a revelation he needed made. The only thing he could do is let the magic take him. He shuffled past the statue of Mr. Satan and along a line of hedgerows. There he found a quiet patch of lawn beside an artificial pond. There were a few ducks there, huddled among the reeds. They swam off as he approached. Ras simply sat down in the grass and laid back, closing his eyes. His skepticism kicked in as he waited. Nothing was happening. The morning sky, filled with the haze of an industrial world. For a few long minutes he watched the various hover-cars and spacecraft zip by. Until he found the world around him melting as if it were all composed of wax. And then the world reversed. He whipped through time, moving past his encounter with the strange herb peddling wizard. He was in bed again, in the throes of pleasure with the ladies he brought back with him. They had arrived via a floating limousine, after a long trip drinking cocktails and telling stories, while staring their frisky business. And he was back leaning against a bar, sipping on liquor and laughing at someone's jokes. In retrospect, the jokes weren't even funny. That went to show how horrible his judgement was while drunk. It continued ever backwards through the hours to him spending a huge sum of money on buying drinks for the house. That money he had won during a game of cards minutes prior, hands down thrashing his opponents. A shame. He should have pocketed it. Once again, shitty judgement. More sex, this time with a questionable looking chick in the bathroom, right after eating chicken tenders at some corner dive. She had followed him too, from the previous bar. Back there he had been enthralled by bumping music and lights. That entire dancing rave sequence blurred past and then time slowed, right before he was entering the bumping bar.
The world was just beginning to spin and Ras chuckled. The line to get into Prometheus was all the way around the corner. It was one of the best night-clubs in town. This wasn't Ras's first time visiting it, but it was his first time since his growing infamy. He leaned against a brick wall, his fingers tracing the leather grip of his sword. Last time he had went into the place, they'd let him put it up. Maybe this time if he said who he was, he would be able to wear it in the bar. The bouncers tended to be lenient with celebrities. "Who needs am arm band?" a girl said walking the line. She worked at the club no doubt, due to her all black t-shirt and army pants. Also her irritated expression that dripped with fuck off, I'm doing my job. Raven locks of hair fell like a waterfall from the top of her head, cut to sharp angles at her shoulder and above her brow. Both of her azure eyes glared out at the mass of patrons with indifference. It was like she was staring at a herd of cattle. Her build wasn't dainty or even thick, but she had some meat on her. Her forearms had cords of muscles in them, so she probably worked out a lot. Ras much preferred his girls dainty or doughy, but she was impressive none the less. "I do," Ras said, stepping forward. "Holy shit. Ras the Blade here live in the flesh." "You know me?""Saw you the other night on the holovids. You almost got wrecked by Saiyan Etohn (@tanuc). Real shame though. Lucky shot there at the end." That was the first time that Ras had someone repeat back to him the actual events. She seemed to know a thing or two about fighting. "You know, that's fair.""Battle Royales are a shitty way to measure a fighter's worth, honestly." She put the wrist band on and pointed to the weapon, eyebrows furrowed. "You can't bring that in here, by the way." "Last time they let me put it up at the entrance," Ras said and shrugged. "New owner. Dude's a stickler. Sorry man. You'll have to come back after you find somewhere to stash it." Rash rubbed his chin. "Do you think you could hang onto it for me?" The girl frowned. "You don't want me to hold onto that for you." "Look, I'll give you money."She shook her head. "Nah. That was a pretty entertaining fight. I'll hold onto it for you. Just don't forget to come pick it up. If you don't, then I get to keep it." Ras laughed. "I won't forget."
Ras emerged from the trip, sitting up straight as an arrow. The blood had fled form his face and his mouth drooped agape. I'm such a fucking idiot. He gave Raijin a long and hard look, face etched with frustration at himself. "Fuck. I think I know where the weapon is. Or at least, who I gave it to. Some dark haired girl at Prometheus. You ever been there?"

Raijin watched as Ras went through his trial by hallucination, laying down and staring vacantly at the sky. The hybrid was a little jealous. He felt as though he should be the one out of his mind on some sort of trip. He leaned forward in excitement as Ras sprang to attention. The Kabochan's next statement excited Raijin. Particularly the question about the club Prometheus, and a certain dark haired girl.
"You ever been there?"
Technically, he had. Outside. Everytime he had been far too intoxicated to be let in. Nobody really believes you when you say you used a magical spell to sober up. Even when you show them other magic! For some reason people just don't believe the ravings of an intoxicated youth. Not to mention he probably wasn't old enough to get into most of these establishments. It was amazing what an enchanting visage and a quick tongue could get.
Many things. However, none of them had been entry to the club. A golden opportunity had just blossomed. This was his chance to finally gain entry. This guy had already gotten in! Once you're in, you're in, you know? With a grin, Rai responded to his newfound friend:
"Been there? Even better. I know the girl. Uh, better if you do the talking though. And maybe stand in front of me. And you need to buy me a drink for helping, too."
With that, Rai put his spellbook away, muffling whatever else it had to say to them. There was no time for that. Tonight was the night! Man, did Raijin have a plan to get loaded. He had heard that they had the best dance area, and great live music. Quickly all the reviews he had read flooded his head, almost photographically as he pictured how his night was about to go. The youth put his arm around Ras, waving his hand across sky as if gesturing to something as he spoke:
"This, my friend, is fate. Sometimes, two gents bump into each other on the road. Sometimes they have a problem, and all they can do to solve it? Realize that the problem was the solution all along. Tonight is about to be legendary, don't even say no. You're gonna get your dad's thing back! Then we're gonna short an establishment on so much zenni that they will tell their grandchildren about how a pair of young, handsome kids had the craziest time and changed their lives and then dissappeared without a trace, gone like the wind..."
This rant actually continued, but it was safe to say that this was a good place to stop paying attention. He mostly reiterated how everything was fate, and how fortunate they were to be together. At some point he had started drinking, it seemed, as he stealthily took a sip from his backup emergency hidden flask. He finally stopped talking as he began to head down the street towards the club.
It was near here, right? The crossbreed wasn't entirely sure. He handed the flask to Ras, and flashed a charming smile at him. "Hey, uh... I forget where it is. Can you lead the way?"

Ras blew air from his lips. After his magical trip through space-time he wasn't feeling relaxed at all. He has seen just what his reckless partying had wrought him. A lot of wasted money in his vice. Money had always been something he had copious amounts of, so it was hard to break the habit of burning through it like twigs thrown on the bonfire of decadence. You only got one life to live, after all. And he wasn't about to waste his. He had watched his Father, the former King of Kabocha, live a life of discipline and dedication. The guy never had any time to have fun. Those fleeting moments Ras did get to spend with him away from all the attention and all the work--had been the best. Each time had had seen a flicker of desperation on the old ruler's eyes, the sort that said: I don't want this to end. Ras didn't want to have that life. He didn't want to ever give his own kid that same expression to feel that sort of entrapment. Kabocha was behind him. He was free now. He took a deep breath and stood up, flicking off some blades of loose grass from his pants. There was something about this Raijin word's that steeled him. Things were going to be all right, despite his anxiety. The girl had his sword, probably kept it for him somewhere safe. He would go get it back and then he would have a drink to celebrate not losing the damn thing. Fishing around inside of his jacket pocket, he pulled out his comm device. Flipping it open, the holographic screen flickered to life. It was a little past noon. The night club wouldn't be open yet, so they had some hours to kill. Ras's stomach growled and he ran a search on nearby eateries. He still had some cash left in his account. Enough to eat lunch. Using an app on his comm, he managed to flag down an auto-cab. The tiny yellow transport was shaped like a beetle. It floated down in front of them, repulsors fluttering the grass as it levitated there. The side door slid open, revealing a row of seats. Ras clamored in and motioned for Raijin to follow. It was a quick trip over the sprawling metropolis. It still amazed Ras that as far as his eyes could see, there were buildings. The planet had two layers as well, the Upper City--where he had spent most of his time, and a seedy much darker Under City, which lurked in the depths below the platforms and green-ways. He never went down there, but from what he heard it was filled with surly types. There was a saying on Space Vegas. The real rich ones are forged in the dark.It seemed kinda ominous. But, it made sense to a degree. All the hustling and moving happened out of the public eye. No doubt there was plenty of opportunity down there among the rabble and the stench. The cab pulled up along side a huge artificial lake. There was even a man-made beach here. Lots of girls in bikinis and bronzed dudes with muscle. A boardwalk stretched around most of it, lined with small shops, restaurants, and resorts. He had chosen a restaurant called Speedy's. Ras had eaten there a few weeks ago after arriving on Space Vegas. The human food there was greasy and looked gross, but tasted god-like. After ordering a burger the size of a small child's head, he sat down at one of the tables across from Rajin and dug into his crispy fried root vegetables. He dipped them in some sort of sweet and savory red paste. They complicated the saltiness and he couldn't help but close his eyes to savor them. Raijin was allowed to order whatever he wanted as well. "Thanks for your help so far," Ras said between chomps. "Look at this place man," he gestured around at the splendor of the metropolis. "It puts my home-world to shame. Our biggest city looks like a dusty pit in comparison. I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do here. Drinking and partying is fun, but it feels wasteful sometimes."He took a huge bite of the burger, grease running down his chin. After dabbing his face with a napkin he furrowed his brow. The nerves were there still, his foot tapping floor. The longer he didn't have that sword, the worse he felt. "I used to be rich. But, all that wealth wasn't earned by me. I inherited it all from my Father. I-"He decided to omit the part about him being a prince, for now. "I want to strike it out on my own. I want to build something with my bare-hands, not look after handed to me by someone else. I don't care about playing by the rules either. My dad was always so altruistic, always trying to do the right thing. You know? He got walked all over by people that gave zero fucks him or others. Those guys made the rules and if assholes like them could do that, then that just means rules are shit.""They took what they wanted. Did what they wanted. And my dad broke his back for them, sacrificed a lot. Pissed me off, still pisses me off. I won't be like that at all."

Raijin's newfound companion seemed deep on thought for a moment. Perhaps the spell had been too potent? Rai wondered this for a moment, until Rase rose to his feet and brushed himself off. He pulled out a strange device, one the youth recognized as a communicator of some sort. The Kabochan's stomach growled loud enough for the Shinjin hybrid to hear, and he couldn't help but crack a smile and burst out in laughter. Rai felt pretty much the same way, if he was gonna go out drinking and continue his belligerence he should probably grab a bite to eat. He imagined that was what the other man was situating, realizing that it was far too early to go to a club.
An insectoid autocab arrived, its' metal carapace tinged yellow. Ras gestured for him to enter as he made his way into the vehicle. Raijin climbed in and sat beside him, silent. For a change he chose to regather his thoughts. They took to the sky, the vehicle humming softly as it drove. Rai closed his eyes, avoiding looking at the sprawling metropolis beneath him. Sobering up, he knew it would be a bad idea to look at all the flashing lights right now. Sometimes he would just get lost in the sprawling cityscape.
Someday, Rai wanted to own a place like this. He imagined pushing the idea further, as he saw one flaw in the design- this whole entire operation was about money. Behind the scenes, dark deeds took place. Killings, thievery, fraud, kidnapping, extortion, prostitution... all things that meant big money, or better yet: old money. The type of money passed down through lineage, or inheritance. Rai's idea was simple: buy a planet, make the entire planet into one big casino/brothel/nightclub. No houses. Just rooms you can rent for a night. A week. A lifetime. Servants, everywhere. Luxury! Real luxury! Women, men, drugs, booze, money, jewels, land!!!
The half breed had to shake his head. The notion was overwhelming. A fantasy. Besides, they had arrived. There was no more time to froth at the mouth at the notion of such a place. Although, Rai did believe lately he was fit to rule such a domain, he was not nearly capable of creating such a world of euphoric pleasure. They landed near a place called 'Speedy's', and the pair got out of the car. Rai nodded in silent thanks to the autocab driver, grinning from ear to ear.
The scent of burgers filled his nose. Rai hadn't had a burger since he left Earth. Oh, man. The pair sat down and Raijin watched as the Kabochan ordred. He mimicked his friends order, but made sure to add grilled mushrooms to his dish. They weren't the fun kind, but they sure tasted good. Their food came out one after the other, and Raijin began eating very ungraciously, wolfing down the food like it was his last meal. Rai somehow cleaned his plate off in time for Ras' thank you, opening him up to be able to listen more intently to him discuss his backstory.
The Kabochan explained his past wealth. His inheritance. For a moment, Rai felt some contempt for the boy. Then he described his true desire to him. He described the mistakes he felt his father had made, and Raijin's expression softened. His own relationship with his father was tumultuous. He had never met him, and his only inheritance was one of a darker variety.
The half breed let Ras finish before he spoke, slurping down his drink before talking. "... Ah. So you know, you're not the only one suffering from the mistakes of your father. I... well, let's just say I never knew my father but from what I know he was a selfish bastard. A madman, too. Lost in avarice and material desire. I'm a little better- but not much. I feel myself teetering. But, be thankful. Your father sounds like a better man than mine. I think you inherited more than just his wealth. Here you are, trusting in a stranger such as myself. You never know..."
Raijin leaned forward, his demeanor shifting rapidly, eyes gleaming as a mad grin of bared canines smeared across his darkened visage. "What if I was after the object you're looking for?"
He let the air turn heavy for a moment as the tone of the conversation had changed. A flash of his inner mind could be disturbing to some, but Rai hoped that Ras would react the way he anticipated. A moment later, his face lightened, returning to its' playful mood. "... I'm not, mind you. You should be more wary. Even with that bare bones information about you, on a planet like this... You're exposing your chin. Don't be so up front with any more folk as unsavory as myself. Your dreams and aspirations are commendable, and I associate with them, but even in a place like this you should never reveal so much. It makes it easier to learn more."
With that he took a drink from his flask.

Ras watched the waves on the fake beach roll in. The entire lake was fabricated. The waves were as well. That didn't stop the humans from enjoying themselves. They sprawled out on the sands, soaking up the sunlight, or hiding beneath the cool shade of the umbrellas. Kids darted back and forth. All serene, and little did any of them know that both Ras and Raijin could end all their existences in the flick of a wrist. The knife-eared hybrid man was right, to a degree. Perhaps Ras had been too trusting. But, at the same time--if you didn't take the risk of letting someone in, you never made any friends. Ras had been alone for awhile now. And, it didn't benefit him at all. Fucking a bunch of girls, or having drunk conversations with strangers didn't equate to meaningful interaction. "Funny you say that," Ras finally spoke. Entire minutes had dragged on. The food they ate was polished off, nothing but empty wrappers and loose crumbs. Now the both of them seemed to be relaxing, enjoying the meal they conquered. Ras sipped his drink and leaned forward a bit. "I beat a Super Saiyan (Etohn ) the other day in one of the fighting arenas. Guy was a monster, way stronger than me. He left his guard down for a second and I hit him in the chin. Took him out."As if on cue, a couple locals ran over. Fans--of course. Ras smiled, that princely practiced smile, and shook their hands. He even let one take a selfie with him. Shit. Someone from Kabocha is going to find me, the more my face is spread around the Galactic Hypernet.Ras wondered what would happen, in that case. Would he go back? He didn't want to. There were dreams to pursue, and none of them included ruling over a dusty and dying world. Plus, there was the fact that his seat as the monarch had been ursurped by Emperor Carambolis ( Cam ). Ras didn't know Cam, or didn't remember the man in any meaningful way, if he had met him. Yet, he had pushed out the Saiyans and re-established Kabocha as an independant power, for the first time in several hundred years. "Come on," Ras said as his fans walked off. "Let's get the fuck out of here, before more show up."This time they took an automated cab shaped like a pelican back into the depths of the entertainment district. Such weird animal inspired rides were part of the tourism thing. They weren't practical or even aerodynamic. At least this one was a little better compared to the beetle, it was inspired by an avian creature after all. Prometheus was hell of a night club, from above. The letters of its name were splayed out in a physical sign, unique compared to the holog-signs of most. Six stories tall, with multiple decks reaching out into the sky. There were swimming pools, virtual reality pods, view-screens where sporting events and televison could be watched, private lounges, and elaborate dance floors. It had a bit of everything, and only so many people were let inside--usually the rich and good looking. This time of day, the place was closed. The pelican cab let them off next to the entrance. An block-headed robot was the only person outside of the door, vacuuming the carpet and stoop with an arm appendage. Ras stretched and reached into his coat pocket, pulling out that herbal smoke that Raijin had given him earlier. Using a spark of ki from his finger tip, he lit it up and took a long drag. Perhaps too long--as it sent him into a fit of coughing, his eyes nearly bulging out of his head. Dizzy, he found a low stone wall surrounding a bank of palm trees and plopped down on it. "This herb is astounding."Ras passed it to Raijin a couple times as the duo finished it off. Now rather high, and a bit paranoid--he kept checking his comm to see what time it was. "What's in that flask of yours?"Staring at his new companion, Ras didn't see the raven haired girl with a jacket slung over her shoulder approaching the entrance of the club. She carried the slump of someone about to start their shift, meandering her way through the empty velvet roped queue. Once her eyes locked on Ras from across the way, they went wide with fright. She vanished from sight. Or at least, it would have seemed to the average person. With eyes like Raijin's he would see her leap and dart down an alleyway instead-- with unnatural speed.

Raijin closed his eyes, listening to his companion intently. He leaned back in his chair, envisioning what he had said. This guy had beaten a Super Saiyan? Lucky fellow, then. Yeah, he'd be a great candidate for this. Gambling was Rai's passion, lately especially. A guy with luck like this could shape up to be a great partner. Rai, too, had taken out stronger opponents in the past. He recalled the trio of Demons he had helped Cipher take out. He particularly recalled the one he had slain himself. Having taken the life of a creature like that, he knew what it was like to triumph over something much greater than oneself. Now? He probably could fight toe-to-toe with something of that magnitude. Rai even figured he could give Ras a run for his money, if he wanted to. But that kind of thing didn't interest him as much as financial gain.
A few fans gathered around the pair, and the half-blood quirked his eyebrow inquisitively. The youthful magician eyed Ras shift uncomfortably, the Kabochan fighter seemingly uncomfortable with his newfound fame. Or, perhaps Rai's warning had sunk in. The reality was that if he was trying to be someone else and make a name for himself, he would have to hide who he used to be. Hiding yourself was something Raijin had been known to do. The cross-breed wondered why they both tended to drink so much, as he looked down at the flask he had been holding. In actuality, it had caused him nothing but trouble. Perhaps even kept him from gaining any motivation. He laughed the thought off, taking another sip as the soon-to-be drunken duo rose from their respective seats.
A few moments later they had boarded a bizarre bird-like autocab, a variant of the insectoid one they had rode in earlier. Raijin did not find the gimmicks of this city to be anything particularly special. He understood them for what they were- marketing ploys. A few months back he would've been sold by it. That was when he still felt like a kid, riding around and seeing the universe. Before he had met Polaris, Lute, and Kuueru. He shuddered as he thought of the trio. They were all mysterious, powerful, and... Well, Raijin was technically in servitude to them. Not that he didn't enjoy the notion of having such powerful and influential individuals that he potentially could further a relationship with, at the point he was at he was two things:
Unprofessional, and weak. Ras was neither of these things, despite his aloof nature. Raijin was even more questionable than his counterpart. Finally, the pair arrived at the night-club, aptly titled Prometheus. It towered over the two and Raijin couldn't help but examine each and every facet of the club. Things like this had always enthralled him. Rai would love to own a place like this. Places like this can have real power. Politicians have a scandal? It's in a place like this. Celebrities party? Here. Power flowed through here, much like the ki and magical energy that flowed freely through Raijin. His blood began to boil as he continued studying the building.
He hadn't even noticed Ras lighting the joint he had given him earlier. Raijin probably would've asked for a hit if he had, and missed a key detail. Beyond where Ras was standing, down an alley, he spotted the raven-haired girl. Raijin began to smile, putting on his visage of charm- however, a second later she noticed the Kabochan. Her expression shifted to one of fear, and she darted off at an impressive speed, one that was almost challenging for even Rai to pick up on. Raijin knew he couldn't waste a moment, and phased from view, storm clouds gathering above him.
For this next spell to work, he would have to keep himself close enough to her to at least know her whereabouts. He wasn't as familiar with her ki signature as he would be a more powerful individual, and she was quite fast. In fact, normally she would be faster than Raijin. However, as droplets of rain fell from the sky, the girl would hardly feel them land on her clothes. Soaking through the fabric, her muscles would strain, slowing her just enough for the knife-eared youth to catch up to her, snickering. Reaching out to Ras telepathically, he barked an order at him that seemed out of character for him:
“Move! I've got her! Be nimble, she's a quick one.”
As he said this telepathically to his companion, he smiled warmly at the girl, watching as the spell forced her muscles to lock up. A bolt of lightning struck the concrete next to her, searing it. Thunder boomed menacingly in the sky as the rain continued to pelt her, the clouds becoming smaller and smaller, the ominous grey overcast hovering solely above the girl.
“Sorry to rain on your parade, babe.”
Eyes scanned the girl as he searched for the possession. He couldn't see anything that struck him as particularly important. The half-Shinjin cracked his neck as his hand began to crackle with plasma. Normally, he would be less on guard around a female, more flirtatious. This one, though... Something about her screamed trouble. Mischief. Not the type Rai was into, either. At least not when his newfound friend was a victim of it.
Wait. Friend? When had Raijin began thinking of him in that way? In fact, it was true. This stranger had proven himself to be rather upfront and honest. A breath of fresh air compared to the dangerous beings he had been aligning himself with. Raijin's violet eyes locked onto the girl and darkened.
“My friend is looking for you. You took something of his, I think. Judging from the way you ran away, I bet you either are hiding it away for yourself...” he said, looking her up and down again. She was actually kind of cute. “Or, you sold it to some good-for-nothing. Either way, love, you're in trouble.”

The rain droplets landed on Ruby and she grunted as her leg muscles started to seize up. But, she wasn't an ordinary woman. Her enhancement reacted, a swarm of nano-machines surging through her veins and flooding her legs, to keep her moving. Despite her super speed, the knife-eared guy was able to keep up with her. She had heard of powerful beings out, had seen the fights. But, she had always sized herself up as being superior to them, designed that way. The few tough spacers and savages that fucked around in the bar, always regretted when she showed up. She was the real muscle of Prometheus. Where did those rain and clouds come from? she thought. Both her dark eyes darted to the swirling mass above the alleyway. It was worrisome, and illogical. The atmospheric conditions on Space Vegas were always precisely controlled. Random weather patterns just never happened. Everything was scheduled and accounted for. She flickered back into view at the end of the alleyway. There wasn't anywhere else for her to go, just a yawning abyss. The drop off plunged thousands of feet into the Under City of Space Vegas. She was familiar with the place, but it wasn't ideal for her to go there--after what happened last time. Plus, she had to get to work. It was a pickle to be in. Glancing over her shoulder, knife-ear was upon her. A bolt of lightning struck the concrete next to Ruby, scoring it black. Her hands found the duracrete of the wall and she leaned there as her nano-machines fought against the magic that weakened her, almost making her fall. A grimace found its way into her pretty features. There werd two choices--fight him here or leap off the edge and take her chances down there. “Sorry to rain on your parade, babe.” The stormy gray blanket had shrunken to only fall upon her. Her grimace shifting into a hard scowl. "I bet." As his hands began to crackle with plasma, Ruby reached to her hip and drew out a small coin sized metal disc. She tapped the side of it and erupted out, creating a glinting chrome shaft--a bo-staff. "My friend is looking for you. You took something of his, I think. Judging from the way you ran away, I bet you either are hiding it away for yourself," she said. "Or, you sold it to some good-for-nothing. Either way, love, you're in trouble." "I have no idea what you're talking about, Rain Man," she twirled the staff and assumed her fighting stance. "Today's been shit. Trust me, you don't want to fuck with me." Ruby decided to strike back. She cocked her arm and hurled the shiny weapon as if she were throwing a javelin, straight at his gut. The length of it thundered as it broke the sound barrier in an instant. The velocity of her throw was enough that it acted more like a slug shot from a rail gun.

Rai grinned a toothy grin as he saw her weaken, leaning against the wall. He ignored her protests and scowls, hoping Ras would catch up soon. For some reason, he couldn’t sense any ki from her. It reminded him of V3, a mechanical fighter he had gone up against in the past. That knowledge in itself made him wary. So, when she withdrew a small, unfolding staff just as Rai began charging up his signature technique, the youth knew he had to react. She cocked her arm back, eyeing him with a tenacity that only a scorned woman could produce.
Raijin gulped. Interrupting his concentration, the staff hurdled towards him at such an incredible speed that it threatened to take him completely off-guard. The half-blood heard the sound barrier break thunderously, and he knew he only had a moment to react. Gathering up his energy, he phased out of the way of the staff, cringing as it impaled the wall behind him, protruding out a few feet. A lot of it had been buried into the solid wall, and Rai was willing to bet that would’ve hurt him quite a bit. This girl was no joke. Beautiful? Check. Lethal? Check.
For a second, Rai wondered if she was one of his ex-girlfriends. That would explain the murder attempt. All he had really done is slow her down and scare her. She wasn’t very nice, actually, considering the fact she countered with such deadly force. The rain clouds thickened and darkened as the Shinjin’s grin shifted into a more frustrated expression. It began to downpour on the pair, Rai extending his right hand.
Making a few signs with the hand, he extended it towards the girl. She liked to throw things, huh? It’s not so easy to do when blinded. Closing his eyes, he aimed his hand downward- suddenly, an incredibly bright bolt of lightning struck the ground directly in front of the girl. It wasn’t meant to damage her, particularly- the brilliant flash of light would serve to do one thing: limit her field of vision.
After this, Rai would open his eyes and close the gap between the pair. She seemed to be very fast, and he didn’t want to give her a chance to lose him when she recovered her eyesight. The half-breed grabbed at her arm, hoping to catch it before she could race away at breakneck speeds. While he did this, he reached out to Ras telepathically, giving a few more orders and updating him on the situation:
“Alright, alright rich boy wonder! You need to get over here, fast! I know you’re famous and all so you don’t like being rushed around, but I don’t know how long I’ll be capable of stalling her! She’s a little too feisty! Reminds me of an old girlfriend, you know? Violent, crazy, quick to run away! Although…” he glanced the girl over, a perverted grin flashing across his face again. “She’s definitely not hard to look at. She might be another one of those robots, though! Eh, a lot of folks these days seem to be mechanical… I prefer my girls organic.”
At this point it seemed Rai was distracted himself. The seriousness he had displayed earlier seemed to have worn off. The Shinjin crossed his fingers, metaphorically of course. Ras better hurry.

Light flooded Ruby's vision and she averted her gaze. Immediately she realized what a novice mistake that was, but she couldn't see anyway--so what did it mater. Rather, she relied on her built-in-scouter to track the energy levels of Raijin. It didn't tell her what he was going to do, but at the very least it told her where he was. Even so, she wasn't fast enough to avoid his arm grab. She yanked back, but it was like trying to pull a flag pole out of its seating. This guy was stronger than she was, by a wide margin. Despite all her enhancements. It wasn't something she had ever expected to find. "I'm not a robot you cunt," Ruby said. "And your ex-girlfriend must have been a little bitch. Maybe if you bought her some wine and took her out once in awhile." Pissed now, she did the only thing she could think of. She swung her leg up with all the power and force she could muster. Right for Raijin's gonads. Right for the baby-makers.
Ras snapped out of his stupor upon hearing some shouting. He looked to his right. Raijin wasn't gone. It was then, in his high state of mind, he came to the conclusion that the voice was indeed Raijins. "What is he going on about?"Ras jogged over to the alleyway entrance, just in time to see the raven haired girl from the night before clobber Raijin in the family jewels. "Hey!"Her eyes locked with his for a moment. Raijin still had her in his grip, but she did something very unexpected. She yanked so hard that her arm came loose from its socket. It was gross, sickening. There was all sorts of red and blue stuff-- Ras realized that they were wires and gears, not flesh and bone. "She's a fucking robot?"Loose, she turned jumped straight off the ledge at the end of the alleyway. The first thing, his addled mind wondered is why there wasn't any sort of safety features stopping someone from just walking to their doom. Until he heard a loud sizzling crunch. He had to stir his ki into motion. It sat latent in his body's chakra points due to his extremely relaxed state. It surged like hot fire through his veins, sobering his mind a bit as he blinked from sight and appeared at the ledge. The raven haired girl, now one armed, stood atop of what looked like some sort of buzzing energy field. That was the saftey net. At least Space Vegas thought about those kinds of things, it put Ras at ease for now. But, she was doing the unthinkable, hammering on it with her foot. Her heel rose and fell into it like a piston. "Quit that! Hey. I just wanna know where my sword went."She turned and gave him the finger with her only good arm. Ras tore the other loose arm from Raijin's grip and whipped it at her. It tumbled end over end, missing her by a wide margin, sparking and sputtering as it slid across the surface of the shield. Grunting, she slammed her foot one last time and the entire thing fractured and shattered like glass, scattering motes of light and electricity everywhere. And then the raven haired girl plunged into the dark. Ras grimaced at Raijin. "You should have told me you saw her, we could have went after her together. Damn that joint was good. Sucks that this shit had to ruin my high."He stretched for a second and scooted even closer to the abyss. The drop didn't scare him at all. He could use his ki to fly, but more so--he was nervous about what lurked down there--out of sight. It was nothing but dark haze. The Undercity, as the locals called it. There were dozens of warnings around every corner on why you shouldn't go down there. There was nothing but wretched scum and villainy down there. "Here goes nothing. You coming Rai?"The Kabochan Prince stepped off the ledge and let himself free fall into the abyss

Raijin was dissed even better than some of the freestyle poets were capable of on some of the intergalactic television he had seen. Then he was promptly kicked in the nuts. This had happened because he had been distracted by... well, honestly he didn't want to admit that his feelings had been hurt just a little bit. She had a sharp tongue. It was kind of hot. Robots just got a whole lot sexier to the Shinjin- for at least a moment, until he regretted letting any blood flow to his nether regions. Gods, that had hurt. Raijin almost felt relieved when Ras showed up- until the girl literally ripped off her own arm, spraying a disgusting mixture of red and blue onto Rai's robes. Hm. At least his robes were purple, so when the strange gore-like substance mixed together the color scheme would sort of match.
She fled, making her way to the ledge at the end of the dimly lit alleyway. She leapt from it, and Raijin wondered if for a moment she chose killing herself over answering the question of where Ras' sword had gone. Then he heard a crunch, and Rai realized she had landed on... Something. He rushed over, following behind Ras. During this the Shinjin had held tight on the girls' arm. For a moment, he internally amused himself with the concept of trading the arm for Ras' sword. Then Ras plucked the limb from his grasp, throwing it at the raven haired cyborg. During this debacle, the girl had begun hammering away at the safety net that held her up, finally destroying it. She plunged into the depths of Space Vegas, Rai wondering why a person would do such a thing. This was frustrating, and he hoped the effort he was putting forth was worth it. When he considered how important this seemed to Ras, he guessed that it was.
Ras complimented the joint that the half-breed had shared with him, Raijin grinning at the compliment, wiping off some of the smeared fluid that had covered his already kind of dirty robes.
"Wish we both could've shared it. This is killing my vibe, too. You only can find the good stuff on Earth. Other planets... It's just not the same."
Knowing what would come next, Rai nodded at Ras. "Of course I'm comin'. She has to pay to get my clothes cleaned, too." he growled, agitated. Today was stretching on and he wanted to nap. Rai watched as the Kabochan leapt from the ledge, free falling into the darkness. The youth wasted no time in following suit.
He fell and fell, not bothering to control his fall as he did so. Rai couldn't even make out Ras in the shadows, but a light in the distance promised... Something. How far had they been falling? And for how long? Suddenly, strange lighting illuminated the hazy atmosphere. The air thickened, and Raijin chose to halt his descent with a burst of his ki. As he began to take in the dismal environment, he came to a sudden realization.
About twenty feet below him, a different form of life than what took place on the surface existed. Rai saw criminals, prostitutes, thugs, the poverty stricken... Killers. Looking straight down a long, winding, crooked stretch of street Raijin could make out a man being robbed in the distance, a drug deal going down on another corner. As he descended to the ground, looking for Ras, a girl approached him. She was young, and slim-framed. Almost sickly. The type of gauntness one can only obtain from doing a lot of drugs. She solicited him for a moment, but Rai brushed her off. She wasn't remotely interesting. To be honest, Rai didn't have time to look for Ras. The youth had to find the girl.
"Hey, uh, nice lady." he said, almost sarcastically. It was good he was cute- its' hard to notice. "Did you see a one-armed girl running around here, spraying out some weird substance from her wound?"
The lady smiled a dirty smile, teeth rotting inside of her mangled maw. She pointed to a trail of ooze, stretching down a dilapidated alleyway. The neon lights of the nearby strip club sort of illuminated it, but beyond that it was nothing but... Shadows. Ominous. The hazy atmosphere sat thick in his lungs. Raijin pushed the strung out lady out of his way, flaring his energy so Ras would sense him. Rai didn't care if she sensed him too. The Shinjin hoped she'd set a trap for him, so he could turn it on her.
Raijin wasn't a fighter. Or a killer. If he was anything? He was one tricky bastard. He wouldn't be one-upped by some mechanical bouncer. No matter how charming her insults were. Total darkness wouldn't do. But strolling blindly into a black abyss two times in a row could lead to something... Disastrous. Rai snapped his fingers, thankful of the dank atmospheric conditions they were currently in. There was an abundance of moisture in the air. Perfect for his kind of magic. He created a set of three gaseous orbs of mist and plasma with a snap, controlled and trapped within the confines of the mist. They emitted a prominent light, and Rai sent the first two in a few feet ahead of him. Not too much, but enough that they might disorient an opponent targetting the shadows.
It really was frustrating that she was inorganic. If she had a power signature he could sense, he'd be able to find her in the darkness. Even fight against her. With her cybernetic body she was nearly invisible in the total blackness. Before entering the alleyway, Raijin vowed something to himself. Whereas most would be sketched out by entering such a den of corruption and villainy, Raijin's heart began racing. This place did not reek of failure to him. It reeked of heaven. The depraved actions he had witnessed since his arrival and the completely criminal behavior of the Undercity's inhabitants had an allure to the Shinjin. Thus, he vowed to return here and find himself a little place. Here he could quite literally start from the bottom and work up. Amidst the dregs of society, hidden in shadows where nobody could catch on to his nefarious mideeds. Raijin imagined there were definitely better looking women than the one he had first run into.
Again his mind drifted to the girl he was chasing. He pictured her face in his head and set off, the strange and sprawling alleyway looming over him. The buildings here were tall and hard to separate from one another, with jagged peaks like the mountains of Earth. You could see them, but their outlines seemed to meld together. Rai thought of home as he trudged off into the unknown.

They were on the girl's trail, through the murky abyss of the Undercity. Ras followed behind Raijin as he led with his misty orbs of light. Yet, their luminous glow did little to make him feel better. In fact, the way they highlighted the heaps of trash and detritus strewn about, make the entire scenario feel far more ominous. She was around here somewhere, creeping among the heaps of rusted melt and abandoned machinery. They couldn't feel her aura, which made it hard. A hand grabbed Ras's ankle and her jerked back. A face set by dark sockets for eyes rose up out of the shadows at him. The person's skin was taught and wilted. They looked like some sort of skeleton, a monster of storybooks. Their arms were covered in sores and they wore rags for clothing. The reeked of feces and disease. They muttered something, but their voice was a coarse whisper. Some sort of plea, for help. Ras simply walked a little faster, not at all ready to deal with that sort of shit. Every few hundred feet, they would fine a glossy puddle or speck of whatever fluid she was dripping from her detached arm socket. He didn't know why she was so desperate to escape them. Did she think that Ras would kill her? He figured she didn't have the weapon anymore. Maybe she had sold it. All he wanted to know is to whom. Just what was so terrible about fessing up that she would risk her life? The path led them into a narrow corridor, between two thrumming buildings reinforced with kachin plating. No doubt it was the lower portion of some sort of industrial facility, by the loud cacophony of whirring, cranking, and ratcheting cascading from above, echoing its way down. The random and ominous sound threw him off, made him look every which way. Paraonia was seeping into his bones and he just wanted to go back to the surface. But, he had to find the Royal Armament. A skittering made him snap to the left. There he saw a lizard the size of a dog, gulping down what appeared to be someone's shoe. He was sure there was a foot still in it and wrinkled his nose. "That thing is huge."WHAM!He was sucker punched in the back of the head. The force of the blow sent him speeding into the reinforced brick wall, which caved on impact. For a moment, Ras was a bit cartoonish--head stuck into the wall, feet dangling. He pushed off, and ripped himself out, scattering loose bricks all over the alley. Sweeping around he was just in time to parry a second blow--this one a boot towards his gut. The raven haired girl's face was twisted into a menacing snarl. She roared and attacked him with a flurry of punches and kicks. Ras side stepped them, weaving in and out, until she was off balance and he swept her feet out from beneath her. She landed in a puddle with a splash and a dull thud. She rolled, trying to get back to her feet with one arm. Ras kicked her elbow in, cranking the arm hard. She cried out and collapsed again. "Shit! Calm the fuck down. I don't want to fight you."She wrapped his legs with hers and brought him down onto the sickening grime covered concrete as well. He rolled, his jacket smeared with the muck, and clamored back to his feet. She had gotten back up and went for a high kick this time. This time he wasn't going to play with her. Ki flared up inside of him and he grabbed her foot out of mid air and tilted, hurling her through the air as if she were a child. Her back bowed against a twisted looking piece of turbine and she fell, face first. This time went she landed she remained still--knocked out perhaps. But, Ras wasn't about to risk it. He grabbed a metal pipe and used it to poke her a few times, just to be safe. She didn't stir a bit. Frown on his face, he looked back at Raijin. "This sounds a lot like kidnapping and really rape-y. But, we should tie her up. And then ask her some questions."
