It had been about a month since she had helped the witch Kouzi escape the demon realm. Kuueru had been hard at work collecting tomes and magical artifacts from across the galaxy for Hachi. The magician, in turn, provided her with knowledge of how to warp powerful spells. One such she used daily to travel, the spell of instant transmission.
Though it took a lot out of her stamina to use the ability, she certainly preferred it over the slower form of space travel. Today, she was planning quite the trip however. Earth was her destination. Since her last visit, she had yet to return to the rather peaceful planet. Perhaps she was scared off by the warriors who dared defend it against Shiva and his band of demonic deities?
She had since spoken to Raijin as well as managed to recruit him to her and Lute’s cause. Whatever that was. To be honest the woman was only helping Lute because she had no goals or ideas for her own destiny. She wandered aimlessly along the rails of life, only to follow in his shadow. As much as the demoness wanted to carve her own path, she had found it hard to find something to fight for.
In the mortal realm she had no attachments, not that there were many more in her home land. She had always been a rather solitary creature, preferring to keep her interactions with others to a minimum. Besides, not many a mortal wanted to befriend such a monstrosity. Most of their kind treated demons as if they were the bane of life itself. Kuueru wasn’t a savage killing machine, but she certainly wouldn’t hesitate to execute an enemy if they were a genuine threat.
Cipher.
She was the one that worried the demon. She carried the brunt of the battle on Earth against the gods. She was powerful, rivaling even her own power. She wondered if the woman would be a threat to the demon’s non-existent goals?
The research had came easily. Multiple tournament entries, and wins marked her record. Clearly the woman was wanting to be noticed, if not it wouldn’t be so obvious. Earth was Kuueru’s clear target. The last known location of the Saiyan was an abandoned dojo? Why there? The demons mind whirled with ideas. Why was this member branching so far off from the Valkyries? Kuueru could only be curious, besides she needed to close loose ends after the battle of the gods.
She was well aware the encounter could turn sour, and Cipher may give her a hell of a fight, or even death. Still, Kuueru was eager to talk to the woman.
Here she was, Earth. She had managed to pinpoint the location of the particular dojo Cipher was frequenting. Still, she would probably have a hard time finding the woman on this information alone. The pink haired woman strode through the area, her eyes scanning the outside of the building. It was traditional in style, but quaint. But her powerful aura still gleamed through, she had no need to suppress her power.
“Hnn, where…” The demoness mumbled, her cautious eyes scanning the autumn landscape. Everything was devoid of color, aside from her peachy hair and skin. It was all a disguise however, underneath it all...the demoness was much more intimidating.
There she wait however, there had to be someone there. It smelled inhabited.

A lot happened in a month’s time. Since failing to establish a working relationship with a triad of demonic Gods and having to help slay them as a result, Cipher’s power grew substantially. Not only from that experience, but from a myriad of other outlandish encounters throughout the days. One could interpret the encounter as the catalyst; the final moments, encouraging her to take less damage, even resulted in her working on how she fought stylistically. It annoyed her to think about it, but the experience on Seratus also exposed the flaws in her Rocky-like way of fighting. Despite her shared victory, and the minimal amount of damage she incurred, she owed a lot of it to her partner. She got an idea of the repercussions first hand and decided to go back to her roots. Eventually the desire to head back to her master’s old dojo formed within her. It offered not only the opportunity for introspection, but the ability to glean knowledge off some of the scrolls and secrets her former teacher kept under lock and key. From visiting the demon realm to meeting the Dominion, she riddled her time over the last month with experiences cultivating growth both mentally and physically. However, wherever she went in search of power she failed to shake the conclusive thought within her mind after the gruelling battle that started it all back on Earth. Someone decapitated Shiva before the surprisingly tenacious duo claimed the kill. Or rather, before they could try to claim the kill; things looked precarious back then. They were the one who issued the advice to her and implied such an encounter would happen again in the future. This individual seemed to be conspiring with the other entity behind the attack, and she wondered if a meeting with either could be lucrative for her. But what are the chances of that, kid? Said the raspy demonic voice in her head, causing the Saiyan to click her tongue. The dojo certainly was nothing special. Plain, devoid of students, and boasting signs of wear and tear. Its decoration came in the form of cobwebs, dust, and insects. No martial arts insignia made its appearance anywhere on the exterior or interior of the building. One could assume that whoever taught there at some point had a school but was not prominent enough to have a notable crest like the Crane or Turtle school. While she walked through the main open area, her sandals leaving prints in the thick layer of dust settled on the floor, she came to a halt. Cipher sensed a powerful presence nearby, a great energy signature generally unheard of within Earth’s population. Uncertain about their intention, she stopped suppressing her own power, which could be likened to body language signalling the individual she was receptive to being found. Instead of trying to ascertain their intentions through speculation, she decided to meet them. She made her way to the worn front door of the building an slid it open, her crimson eyes settling on the figure of a woman. At first glance, they seemed unfamiliar. She tilted her head to the side, her brow creasing under the weight of confusion. Cipher herself boasted her usual thick mane of black hair and brown tail. She dressed traditionally, her body framed by a short black yukata. Though a sheath remained at her hip, she refrained from motioning towards it since she currently sensed no aggression. She placed her cybernetic right arm on the frame of the door. “This place seldom gets visitors,” She started, rapping her fingertips against the frame. “To whom do I owe the pleasure?”

A stray toe dug through the wet and overgrown tufts of grass. Occasionally she found a particular flower in bloom she liked before squishing it into oblivion with her toe.
The stupid grin on her face said it all, she was terribly bored---and incredibly curious about making new allies on both sides of the playing field. Not only did Lute makes allegiances with Emperor Polaris, Kuueru had aims to garner a friend from the ‘good’ side of the playing field. That is, if there was any bad intentions to root out of the group of tight-knit comrades.
She hadn’t done much research on the team of heroes, not nearly as much as she had into Raijin and the Saiyan woman. Raijin was rather scarce on any gripping history, having just rose to relevance in more recent months. Cipher however had a long record of things that peaked Kuueru’s interest. Several tournament entries stated her usual style of dress, as well as any augmentations to the body. Those fine details helped her narrow down her search for the raven-haired woman.
Some tournaments were strict upon augmented bodies, some allowed modifications without second thoughts. However, all fights had records and history keeping. Whatever actions the Saiyan took, they seemed to be all on paper. Kuueru couldn’t help but think there wasn’t more though. Was Cipher doing more work on her own behind the scenes? What all did she truly know about the demon realm? Also, was she pursuing Kouzi anymore after their initial encounter?
There it was. Like a beacon, Cipher’s energy blew past the demon. Her own crimson eyes locked onto the building with increasing vigor. She recognized the energy clearly, having met the woman in a desperate time beforehand.
“There we go,” the demon whispered to herself. She admired the dojo, it’s age was clearly displayed---but it’s disuse was much more prominent. The cobwebs and wild things living in the place seemed to signify it had been a while since someone had even visited, let alone give it a good scrub down. Kuueru minded her feet, stepping on some unstable stepping stones that led to the steps of the building.
Sure, she was waltzing into a potential death sentence, but something about that sparked a flame inside. Having a potential threat stare her in the eye was a risk that she craved to take.
Kuueru looked up, her eyes shifting to a dull purple before meeting the piercing crimson gaze of Cipher. She braced herself against the door frame and shot her a curious glance. They were not fools though, two powerful beings in this place together, was intentional. They both had been awaiting this meeting, even if they never thought the thought.
The demon herself, looked nothing like a demon. Her bright smile and quaint clothing dismissed any thoughts of her being a negative person. However, underneath the sun-kissed skin and picturesque attitude loomed something much more intimidating.
Brilliant maroon tunics shielded her skin from the looming Earth sun, though it was Autumn, the UV rays here could still harm her sensitive and demonic skin. Being trapped in such a dull and sunless wasteland for so long was a hard transition to make. While most revealed in the blinding sunlight, she sulked and shielded her eyes from it’s persistent rays.
“Ahh, sorry to bother you then,” The demoness smiled and gave a small but friendly wave. “I’m called Kuueru. I couldn’t help but notice this place on my... evening walk.”
The demon then shot the Saiyan the most goofy face she could muster. They both knew she was lying by now, Kuueru was there for a reason, and Cipher would be a fool not to recognize the woman’s energy from their previous encounter. Amethyst eyes skirted up and down the tailed woman’s frame. It seemed she preferred black, and it suited her just as well.
“I hope you don’t mind me stopping by for a quick chat Cipher, I’ve been meaning to catch up.” The demon’s gaze locked onto the stern yet stoic face of the other. She looked the same as she did the other day, only with less desperation, and quick a bit more power behind her aura. Oh, and a hell of a lot less beat up. She had been training, perhaps Kuueru motivated the woman to progress?
“I’m sorry, I’m sure this is all sudden? Perhaps we should sit?”

Within moments of scrutinizing the energy signature, Cipher became aware of her acquaintance’s identity. Having just been thinking about the individual and their advice come the end of the dramatic bout a month earlier, it only took a brief amount of time to remind herself of the energy’s nature. It reminded her of when she ventured into the demon realm, at least to some extent, but with the amount of contact and indulgence in demonic power she indulged she was positive she smelled of it, too. Additionally, her work with the other woman seemingly behind the whole ordeal implied her history may have been steeped in demonic interactions. Cipher would never be sure unless she asked and ascertained those facts, however. While she concealed her identity before, now she could see her clearly. Crimson eyes met pools of purple, her head maintained in the quizzical tilt. If she possessed any modicum of demonic heritage or influence, Cipher noted that she did not look it at all. Peachy skin and a mane of pink hair, combined with her radiant smile she could easily be mistaken for an Earthling. I mean, maybe she is one. Cipher thought to herself, reminding herself of the existence of witches and other practitioners of dark arts – including herself. In either case, there was something chilling about someone smiling radiantly while she knew in the back of her mind they were capable of decapitating Gods without batting an eye. “Ah, it’s no bother. The wild things and cobwebs are poor company.” Her expression softened, scarlet eyes dulling their razor-sharp blades. It was not clear what happened to induce the change, but there seemed to be less stress about the Saiyan. No stretch of the imagination could label her as docile, but she seemed considerably less tense and calmer since she last set her eyes upon the woman. She failed to detect a sliver of authenticity in the words following. Cipher gleaned her name from it, the one part that she thought was true. The Saiyan lacked proof, but the name seemed a little too specific to come up with on the spot unless the situation was even more premeditated. It pervaded her lips into a smirk, an entertained snicker emanating from her throat. “Is that right?” Cipher seemed to be enjoying the exchange. Even at the end of the fight, she never held the invasion against the demonic triad. Originally, she wished to strike a bargain, but she ended up murdering one of them during the trial. Followed by Raijin’s lightning-based execution and Kuueru’s brutal decapitation, she considered negotiations with Shiva and his brethren a botch on her end. The woman wished to catch up with her, seemingly tentative about whether Cipher would oblige her. Discontinuing rapping her fingertips against the doorframe, there was barely a single moment of hesitation before the Saiyan nodded in response. The stoic visage produced a rare smile or at least previously rare smile. “Not at all. Been meaning to play a bit of catch up with you, but it looks like you beat me to the punch,” Curling her lips into a fake pout regarding her ineptitude to find the other, she turned around and proceeded inside of the dojo. It may not have been the most expensive facility in the world, but it was expansive. Translucent windows framed it from nearly every side, while near a wall-mounted scroll in the back lay an entrance to a downstairs. “Come, join me inside.”Basing herself in the middle of the large practice room, she sank down onto her knees. Both hands, both the real one and cybernetic, came to rest on top of her lap while she directed her attention back towards Kuueru. “I’d offer some refreshments or better seating if I could but ah…” Cipher paused for a moment, shrugging in resignation. “…yeah, it’s an abandoned dojo; even if there was a fridge everything would be way past the expiration date.”

Finally, she had the chance to see the piercing gaze of the Saiyan once more. She couldn’t help but chuckle at their last encounter. Of course Kouzi had the demon disguise herself beneath a shaw and all. But even this pink-haired get up was a guise. The demon’s true form was much more stereotypical, so much so, Kuueru chose not to enter it unless the occasion called. Usually, that was when she could no-longer focus energy into it, normally during a tough battle or encounter.
“To be honest, I can’t believe you when you say you stay here. Perhaps a place to think?” Kuueru took a few steps forward to peer into the dojo’s open entrance. There she could clearly see the place frozen in time, of course, beneath a few years of filthy buildup that is. Most places looked like that in her homeland. Many structures were built, and forgotten. The disorder that ran the realm, never made it possible for huge societies to last; that is where it differed from the mortal realm.
Living beings aimed to contribute as a tribe of people, where demons belonged to no family or warm hearth. They tore themselves from the womb and began their killing from there; if they managed to live that is. It was a vicious cycle of natural selection that only left the powerful behind to wreak havoc. Kuueru had long since lost interest in that hierarchy since she had seen the ways of living here.
Perhaps she was soft? Maybe she was tired. Living like that for so long made having a chance to have her guard down enjoyable.
It was odd how quickly the fierce expression softened to such warmth. Cipher seemed to have a good handle over her emotions, be then genuine or not. Either way, she seemed more at ease than moments before. Perhaps Kuueru not charging in with fists blazing was a good testament to her temperament.
With a simple nod, and a smile made of pearls, Kuueru hooked her fish. Not that Cipher was an ignorant fish by any means. Kuueru was a demon, and had an affinity for using her words for her own needs. As much as she felt, SUCH GUILT, over the manipulation. She still continued to use her charisma to her advantage in life.
“Oh? I hear I am a hard one to follow or catch up to. Then again, I’m pretty secretive,” Kuueru chuckled and nodded after the Saiyan allowed her entrance to the dojo. Within Cipher walked, and she promptly took a rather formal kneel in the center of the room. Kuueru found herself mirroring the woman, her knees pushing a good years worth of dust into her knees.
She looked around curiously. There was an ambient light pouring through the worn, yet sturdy window seals. The smile on the Demon’s face never faded, however, she soon brought a much serious expression to the table. Cipher afford some hospitable words, even expressing discontent with no refreshments in the dojo. As much as the demon enjoyed a good eat, she wasn’t here today to feast; though she had reservations at 6 for a local prime rib joint.
She salivated for a moment, before quickly snapping back to reality.
“A-Anyhow, it seems you’ve been doing well. You feel a bit stronger, look a bit better than last time,” Kuueru explained herself before taking a sharp breath.
“So---about that, I’m a demon. You know, we do things like open portals to other realms and release demonic deities and their creator into the mortal realm. Shakes things up, ya know?”
Kuueru tried to force a look of empathy, but she truly intended for Kouzi to cause hell to most of the universe. At least, that was her aim---currently Kuueru had no personal goals of destruction or chaos by her own hand. She blindly follow Lute the Namekian for now, until she find a drive or a passion.
“I know your record a bit, I see the organization you belong to---and---their overall goals. However, that may interfere with mine. See, I don’t particularly like to resort to physical enforcement, but sometimes I have to. Demons, can make quite a splash here so I see, so I try my best to steer clear. I haven’t killed any mortals, only Shiva---which he deserved. After All, he did almost eviscerate such a beautiful woman,” Kuueru hummed her words, before folding her arms over her chest. She looked deep in thought, debating whether or not her words came off too aggressively. She didn’t want to be rude.
“I think, we have similar interests, anyhow. I saw you fight, I was watching for a bit actually. Against such a threat, you both handled yourself wonderfully. I wonder though, what are your goals? Since I’m a blank slate.”

Kuueru expressed disbelief towards her temporary residence within the abandoned building, twisting the Saiyan’s lips into a smirk. She considered the secluded refuge a place that she could have her thoughts to herself. Today was the only time she failed in staying discreet about it, but she supposed it broke up the monotony. When she was alone, she felt that it was a good opportunity to submerge herself in her own mind and organize her thoughts. Since it was her former master’s dojo, a nostalgic air lingered within the worn building. She fondly remembered the old man prattling on about responsible uses of martial arts. Memories of practicing footwork along with different kicks, punches and submissions accumulated in her mind. He drilled several things in her mind, but she disagreed with many of his ideologies these days. Cipher imagined his displeasure with her current hobbies. When she revisited the location it stirred feelings of anger. It irritated her scars, reminding her of when someone stole something she cared about from her. In turn, she reasoned that continuing to come back to the building was a boon. It motivated her more and kept her hate fresh, allowing her to pour a constant supply of rage into her attacks whenever she fought. “It’s a nice place to think, but it’s not my permanent residence. I suppose you could say no matter where I go or what I become, how strong I get, I never forget where I started. Someone was taken from me here,” She paused, a chuckle emanating from her throat. “It’s not out of sentiment, though. It stokes the flames of my hatred, and that makes me stronger. This is a place where I can easily meditate on my malice.”Upon hearing the reason behind her inability to locate Kuueru, she was reminded of her own secretive nature. Barely anyone in her organization knew about her extracurricular hobbies and ideologies if anybody at all. She did not think they would take it well and she did not care to explain herself. Cipher wagered they would not understand the fruits of her labour and the reasoning behind them and thus she refrained from engaging. “Aren’t we all? Maybe some more than others.” Spending most of her life either concealing her identity or moonlighting as somebody else, she lived up to her namesake. Within her emerged a desire to be more open with her own thoughts and considerations, but needless rejection would throw a wrench into her plans. The current rendezvous was a primary example of a new secret being devised every day. The woman noticed her newfound strength, and Cipher nodded in return. She found a smile ghosting her lips once again, reminded of how her hard work finally paid off. Cipher ascended to a level only a handful of her race achieved. It seemed like it took her an eternity to pull off, but her asinine ways of training combined with being pushed over the edge mentally left the barrier in shambles. She kind of wondered how the bout would have gone now. Cipher regretted the amount of damage she incurred during it. And then the demoness when on to declare her lineage – Cipher’s eyes widened, and then her lips spread into a full smile. Not exactly the normal reaction a person had when learning such a thing. With that announcement, she denounced any belief that she was a witch or warlock. Throughout history there were people who dabbled in demonic magic but owed their ancestry to some other race. Cipher was amused by the fact she herself fell under that category. She went on to talk about herself, granting her insight and mentioning that her group’s goal interferes with her own. An interesting tidbit of knowledge Cipher received was the fact her hands were seemingly clean of mortal blood, aside from Shiva. As someone who claimed umpteen mortal lives, she found the admission ironic. The compliment she received surprised Cipher, evidenced by her eyes widening once again. Mayhaps she even felt a tinge of heat in her cheeks – she was being called beautiful by the very embodiment of it, after all. The demoness felt they might have similar interests, and after a moment, Cipher nodded again in response. The gesture did not lack authenticity. “Coincidentally, I used to be a blank slate myself. Prior to being enlightened to better philosophies and devising an outlook of my own, all I cared about was vengeance. So, I joined up with powerful people in hopes of learning the best ways to get stronger to achieve my goal,” She started, turning her gaze upwards and furrowing her brow. “I want to start off by saying that I was not opposed to you shaking things up. Chaos and conflict are not bad things, I have learned that those who survive get stronger. Complacency and tranquility, those things make everyone weak and vulnerable.
“Had a different race’s blood moved through my veins, which is currently making me a target with this current regiment, I feel like my allegiances would have been different. However, it seems my very birth has shoehorned me into my position. Your own beauty is matched by how observant you are, I think our interests do align.” Cipher said, directing her attention towards Kuueru once again. Despite the hybrid blood running through her veins, it did seem as though she possessed the spirit of a demon. Literally if you count the demon contracted to her. “At first, I was weak. Since I was weak, I was able to develop the desire to become powerful, because while someone is weak, they know its consequences best. I knew should I become powerful, I would have more freedom in turn. Strength and victory shatter all chains. I started to seek power by any means necessary, and after my friend introduced me to the demon realm, I took a liking to demonic power. I invested my time into finding any demonic relic, tome or weapon that could bolster me further. I strive to hoard power in this universe where the strong reign supreme. That has brought me to my latest investment…”A pause and a smirk later, Cipher continued. “I want to prune the remaining weakness from my very body. I am a Saiyan, but half a weaker race – the natives of this planet where the powerful are one in a billion. I want to replace that other half, turn my body both Saiyan and demon. I know physical alterations of this level are possible, having fought a mutant Namekian calling himself an Immortal,” Cipher tilted her head to the side, enthusiasm ripe in her eyes. “Maybe you could help me in return for something of your choosing?”

It was as she thought. Cipher admitted that this was only a place of mental sanctuary, and not really that of a residence. At least the Saiyan wasn’t existing in these conditions, if she was okay with such a mess; Kuueru would have to second guess her character though. Still, the ever-present smile upon her lips beamed through. She truly enjoyed meeting and making acquaintance with others, and in particular; she found that helping them meet their own goals and potential satisfied her. Perhaps like a true guardian of the mortals, she wanted to help better the world underneath it all. That had to be the Shinjin blood speaking.
She listened to the eerie chuckle of the other woman; she spoke of someone taken from her. Though she didn’t feel sorrow, no--something much more seething plagued her heart. Kuueru shifted herself upon her knees in an attempt to get comfortable, she could admit that mortal mannerisms and painful sitting was not her forte.
However, there was something in Cipher’s words that warmed her frozen over heart. She, like Kuueru, was fueled by hatred---something about the emotion evoked a power not attainable on a normal day. Be it the adrenaline or hormones rolling through your body, or even just wanting to blow off steam; you’re going to hit harder either way. You might as well use your anger to fuel that fire.
“Meditate on your malice? Man, that should be a band name,” Kuueru remarked playfully before her face shifted to try and read the other woman. It was hard to see what Cipher was really thinking, however, behind the smiles and carefree chuckles--Kuueru could feel something brewing. Something yearning for more. She saw herself.
“I mean, I have my reasons, you have your reasons. To hide and keep secrets, I mean. Be it to save someone else’s feelings or your own, we all have a reason for it.”
The reaction that Cipher elicited from her admission of being a demon was rather amusing. Her crimson orbs grew wide like saucers, she perked up in her seat, and a most eerie smile crept upon her lips. The demon encaptured that smile, perhaps it was the true face of happiness for the Saiyan.
Despite her gorey delivery of a compliment, the raven-haired woman’s cheeks still became flush. Perhaps she had offended the woman, but it was only a compliment after all; nothing malicious.
The demoness chuckled at the other, while she began her tale of finding her own goals. Cipher spoke of philosophies and different outlooks in life. Things that Kuueru had probably mulled over a few centuries prior. The demoness had done all of the thinking she could ever wish for, rusting away in the demon realm. Now she only wanted to learn of all this place had to offer. She could mark that down as a end goal though in her own book still.
“Ah, the current regime. You mean, my good pal Polaris,” Her lips twisted into a wicked grim. It was true, she faced the Frost Demon months ago, and knocked him to his knees with a single blow. What a pathetic excuse for emperor of the Galaxy; but still, he was her boss. What a tiny detail to throw in or leave out of the conversation. Though, contractually, she could delist herself from serving the Empire at anytime; she just, enjoyed her perks for now.
However, attached to her comment about the empire, she returned a compliment to the demon’s appearance. The woman fidgeted in her seat, if you could call it that. Awkwardly, she cleared her throat and nodded in agreement to their interests aligning. If it came down to it, she would be able to handle any conflicts with the help of her teammates.
The Saiyan spoke of her rise to power in more detail now. What sort of friend could just take her to and from so easily? Her mind whirled with the possibilities on how to make dimensional rifts between the two realms a more common occurrence. Anything that she could do to benefit the mortal race and make them more strong as a whole. If that meant killing the weak and forcing the strong to get stronger, so be it.
Cipher at the mere talk of anything demonic perked up. Her own knowledge of the demon realm, and even visiting there showed how much she was interested in the power it could grant. The demon leaned forward, her long arm reaching over to press to the shoulder of the Saiyan. Tufts of her wild raven locks intertwined between Kuueru’s raking fingers.
“You want to be, a demon? A Saiyan...demon,” the words trailed off her tongue. Kuueru quickly withdrew her hand, not wanting to seem overbearing towards the other. It was interesting to see someone so willing to sacrifice their humanity. Did this girl, really see the desolate demon realm and the desperation that plagued it’s residents? The very air was disgusting and stunk of sulfur. There was no sunlight, and definitely not many other colors besides the dull crimson that painted the landscape. Kuueru kissed the ground the day she finally escaped, yet Cipher seemed eager to delve head first into madness.
Perhaps this girl, was more demonic than even she.
Kuueru ran the possibilities through her head. Under Hachi’s guidance she was able to learn quite a few useful spells, even those marked as forbidden. Frequently tomb robbing and exploring the mystical reaches of space, Kuueru was quite a pilferer. Not that anyone would miss the artifacts!~ What results would removing the Earthling, and overrunning with demonic traits hold? Her mind raced at the thought, Cipher would only then be more of her true self. Demons gave into their selfish desires and tendencies. They didn’t cater to people’s feelings with forced compliments and lies.
“Of course there are, I know a few people who have done it. I may know how to do it, I just need supplies and the space. But, what could offer me in return? What could possibly hold of value to me?” The woman’s eyes narrowed. The only place that her name would have been found would be through the Empire’s databases. As one of their commanding officers, she had her own platoon, and her name was open to public knowledge. Kuueru was unsure if Cipher had found out about that detail, so she bit her tongue for now.
“We would have to travel a bit though, and I’d need your trust. This isn’t something fun; not in the least bit. However, if there is doubt in your mind, your body may reject the spell. It’s something you need to really be certain with, and I mean that.”
The purple eyed woman shot Cipher a commanding look. As much as she wanted to unleash the woman as a demonic hybrid upon the people, what if Cipher turned on her? Her own mind played her death over several times through her head, but her shoulders soon shrugged. She had lived a good long life, why let it stop her now?

As always, Raijin had been drinking. Not heavily, for once. Well, sure he was drinking heavily. But, this time it was just the beginning of the heavy drinking. It hadn't yet left him inebriated. Not that he couldn't deal with the alcohol with the casting of a simple spell. The only reason he didn't keep drinking was because he was intrigued. The almost inebriated hybrid rose from his seat in the bar, not bothering to pay as he exited the building. The bartender yelled at him, Rai casually flicking his wrist and making a cloud gather above him. He then redefined the phrase, 'making it rain'. This made it more biblical. Laughing as he played weatherman, Rai slammed the door behind him. A moment later he closed his eyes, focusing. Why had he come out here?
The hybrid took a long drag of a joint he didn't remember lighting. Maybe he was drunk. The knife-eared boy took a shot from his flask just to make sure. Then he remembered why he had left the bar! Taking to the sky, he extended his senses, both magical and ki-based. Raijin had detected Kuueru's powerlevel earlier, as well as another familiar one. Rai realized it to be Cipher, the girl he had fought against Shiva and his lackeys alongside. The youths face flushed as he realized that this could actually be dangerous for Kuu. Cipher had shown no remorse in her slayings of the demons that had climbed through the portal, summoned by a mass of brainless cultists. She was a savage fighter, and cold blooded killer. Actually, she seemed more dangerous than the Demoness to Raijin, convinced that she was a person he would not want to pick a fight with. Not that he didn't have a handy little bag of tricks to pull from to survive the encounter; It just wasn't something he'd particularly want to endure. Especially when he remembered the gruesome death of... Which one had she killed? One of them, he knew that.
Taking off towards the pair at breakneck speeds, the youth came to a screeching halt above a dusty old abandoned martial arts dojo. It looked kind of plain, yet edgy. Angsty, even. “This is definitely the place...” he mumbled to himself, as he slowly descended. Raijin had kept the joint in his mouth the entire flight, but it had gone out. He wasted no time in relighting it, cracking his neck as he approached the building. Did he look good? These two were just as cute as they were lethal. In fact, for a moment he imagined them doing something more lewd than fighting, cracking his signature twisted grin at the thought. In the end, though, Rai considered himself a gentlemen. He wanted to have at least a little composure.
Or at least, that's what he said to himself as he entered the martial arts den. Part of him forgot that he was smoking. Or, perhaps that same part of him didn't care. Plumes of haze rose from his figure as he exhaled, finally nearing the room that the two had been conversing in. It was good that he had kept his power suppressed, perhaps enough that they hadn't detected him. Timing had been on his side; He overheard Kuueru speak, beginning at this phrase:
“You want to be, a demon? A Saiyan...demon?”
The youthful Shinjin halfling listened intently. It was hard to hear everything, so he decided to enter the room, around the time she was warning the girl that her body could reject... Whatever it was they were planning on doing. Some sort of conversion therapy. Hadn't she heard you can't pray it away? Rai shook his head, audibly laughing. It must've seemed strange, laughing before you say hello. Either way, Rai laughed and smoked and clearly was slightly intoxicated. He put the joint out inbetween his fingertips and greeted the pair.
“Hello, ladies! You sound like you're up to something awfully naughty. Obviously you should've invited me!”
He flashed that grin again, his unearthly and delicate features seeming genuinely bright and jovial. It was a stark opposite to the internal dialogue he was currently having with himself. Raijin felt the two were discussing forbidden magic and that there was much that he could learn from the pair's interaction. Descended from a Makaioshin, mad with greed, the halfling had inherited something of a greedy compulsion from his father. The sins of the father seemed to have had an unexpected effect on the Kaio, often masking his problem with incessant amounts of booze and narcotics. He had just recovered from a particularly bad bender smoking the rare Namekian-grown equivalent of opium.
Focusing his energy, Raijin materialized a small stool, sitting down on it rather unceremoniously. He smoked the hand-rolled cylinder to a roach before he tossed it to the side, instantly lighting up another one. He felt the need to stay calm, high, and most importantly stable. Last time he had seen Kuueru he had lost a little bit of his self control. With their newfound partnership, he didn't want to come off as... Well, overbearing. Another sip, and Rai began to speak again:
“To be real, I've been eavesdropping a bit. I'm intrigued by this whole 'Half-Demon' thing, replacing the humanity and all that. Now, I don't think it would have that great of an effect on me if I got rid of my lesser half... But, a Saiyan Demon, huh? You really covet strength that much, Cipher?”
Rai yawned and stretched, laughing with a playful chuckle. She was a loaded gun, this one. Rai remembered a moment where she removed one of the demonic trio's eyeball. Honestly, he had to try not to shudder at the memory, rubbing at his own eye. Although he'd look handsome in an eye-patch, he didn't imagine that would actually be the best look for him. It'd also be cliché after his recent misadventures as a space pirate, until his crew's untimely demise at the hands of a blonde goody-goody pretty boy made of a bunch of loose screws. Rai had let the idiot live, but sometimes he wished he hadn't. The guy had wasted no time in killing his old crew.
“My advice is this: Let me come with you two. First off, I'm magical myself. I could, uh, be useful. Second? I want to watch. This whole process intrigues me. I am a hybrid myself, I've struggled with the duality of it. I want to see how this whole thing pans out.” he explained, nodding as he did. The third point he did not speak aloud- he simply projected his thoughts psychically into Kuueru's head, not wanting to alarm Cipher to his fears.
“Third, you need me to watch your back. I've fought alongside this one. She's violent enough as it is without your transmogrification. I wouldn't want to fight her one-on-one. She can take a beating, and dish one out. I'm offended you didn't reach out to me when you came to Earth, you dropped me off here yourself. I'm supposed to be working with you, remember? Not smart to go cavorting around without your gorgeous and dangerous personal assistant, love!”
Raijin extended his flask to Cipher, his smile still ear to ear. “Drink, dear?” he asked, removing the cap. “For the nerves. And the pain. Can't imagine that this is going to be a pretty thing, stripping you of your humanity. You'll need this. In fact, if this is gonna take a while I think I might need something stronger...”
The knife-eared half-blood wanted to make sure that she was as calm as possible. Not that lowering her inhibitions was necessarily a great idea, but anything to help her keep a level head if she really followed through with this process. Rai couldn't imagine this transition would be a smooth one. Maybe it would be fun, though! Yeah, there's the bright side everyone is always talking about. Raijin was good at finding that.
“Make sure you hand that off to Kuueru, after. Then make sure it gets back to me with something left in it. Have to keep drinking responsibly, you know? Can't be losing this buzz right now, I'd probably get nervous about this whole thing. This sounds like some real next level magic right here. It'd be nice to be capable of something like this someday.”
The word 'nice' sounded out of place there. To those who don't know him, they would think him a fool. Kuueru had seen beneath his surface, though. Cipher had fought alongside him. Surely they would understand that the godly mixed breed used his nonchalant attitude to ease himself into tense situations. Either that or they'd think he was a drunken idiot. Rai was fine with either or, right now. So long as he got to see this demonic metamorphosis unfold. The potential potency of such a change was intoxicating to the cross-breed. That'd be a nifty bargaining tool, something he could sell- 'Demonic Transformations, 1,000,000 zenni!'
Yeah, he could see the app being made now. This was a good thing. Right?

White lies made the world go around. Should she tell her friends about her hobbies and research into the demonic, she was positive they would react poorly to it. Disturbing their relationship could result in less cohesion as a unit, and she disliked the thought of that when whirring the cogs of her pragmatic mind. Then again, she did not know much about the other members of the organization. Audrey and Hoax were her forte, but Atreus and Pricota remained distinct unknowns – especially the latter. Additionally, she had not heard from them for an extended period. Probably out on their own operations. Cipher still wondered what Kuueru’s endgame was. She sought the Saiyan out, and she would be an utter fool to not suspect ulterior motives. The warrior needed to be wary, but at the same time she got a strong feeling that at least right now the demoness did not intend to be an immediate threat. Otherwise, she could have ambushed her and dealt with her quickly. She certainly possessed an abundance of charisma. When she mentioned knowing Polaris, her eyes widened. Visible surprise surfaced on her features, and her blood felt cold. She quickly recuperated because she learned something with that statement. For one, if she was as close to Polaris as her words implied the Saiyan would have been swarmed by the Empire by now. It meant that whatever her goals were, they did not directly align with the Frost Demon’s. It also meant that her words likely sat on the precipice of satire, and maybe her alliances were as thin as Cipher’s own. She replaced her shock with mild amusement as she continued regarding Kuueru with her crimson eyes. “Doubt I have to tell you this, but watch your back with that one. From what little birds have told me, he has a history of backstabbing people close to him.” And therein lied the reason why Cipher could not align herself with the Empire even if she wanted to. There was a hundred percent chance of being backstabbed and killed, and she had no interest in meeting a premature end from cowardly tactics she could easily avoid. It was not the first time she worked with people who have worked with Polaris, or have met with him in some way. Audrey seemed to have an encounter with him, but she did not learn much about that. Maybe she would ask more about it sometime when she cared. Etohn, who she met earlier that week, had a storied history with the emperor. Despite people she knew meeting him, Cipher never met him before. She never intended to unless it was to take his life before he could claim her own, and she doubted she was ready yet. The term Saiyan demon appealed to her. She felt her heart beat to a quicker tempo, her smile made eccentric due to the context she smiled at. In response, Cipher simply nodded. In her mind, she was positive that the lethal combination of races would be exceptionally powerful. Since her heart was already steeped in darkness and hatred, she doubted it would make her too different mentally. She suspected it increasing the bloodlust she felt, but ever since she contemplated it she was positive the changes would be mostly physical. The feel of her energy would most likely morph into something far more malicious, but that did not bother her. Her expression did not change much when she heard Kuueru reveal her vast knowledge of the demonic. However, her eyes filled with excitement as she leaned her head a little closer, eager to hear about the ritual and what it entailed. Instead of adding commentary of her own, she committed herself to a silent vigil while she drank in the pinkette’s words. Already a wave of relief washed over her from learning that the practice happened in the past, but she wondered several things in her mind. What kind of supplies did the process require? That could be problematic if she did not already have them on hand. It sounded like they needed to head somewhere else for it because of the need for supplies. Finally, Cipher wondered what she could offer Kuueru to sate her in terms of the deal. Kuueru revealed the need for trust and the dire consequences should her mind not be set on it. She lacked hesitation when she sternly nodded her head in response, her expression sobering. Despite the gravity of the claim, she knew she was certain about her desire to prune the humanity from her very body. She tired of living with that weakness, viewing it as a stigma that only served to bog down her potential. She needed to place her trust in her as well because she was essentially trusting Kuueru with her very body. Since she did not seem incredibly attached to Polaris, otherwise the Saiyan would be dead right now, she did not mind providing her that. “There’s no doubt in my mind, Kuueru. If you wish to embark n…” Before she could finish her sentence, she heard a familiar voice. While earlier she exhibited some surprise at things the demoness mentioned, the shock widening her eyes now surpassed it by miles. Cipher lost her seated position as she snapped herself around to face the grinning newcomer, basing herself on the palms of her hands. Disbelief dominating her face, she failed to notice the man up until that point. An entire platoon of questions popped into her mind at once. Not having seen Raijin since they killed two demonic Gods, she wondered how he got there even though she was lowkey glad to see him. Cipher was at a loss for words. Her eyes fluttered in a chain of blinks as she tried to gauge whether she hallucinated his image and voice; she did smell some pretty good kush after all. He went on to explain how bringing him along was a definite boon, revealed himself as a hybrid, and expressed interest in seeing how she dealt with it. Confusion laced her brow as she provided a kind of vague nod, her mind still flooded with thoughts of ‘how’. Additionally, she did remember the triad of demonic entities picking on him during the bout. They labelled him as a core person of sorts and openly expressed their distaste. It seemed since their departure he found out more about himself. Cipher recalled it not being the case during the bout. Raijin proceeded to offer her a drink of the flask, mentioning that it would ease her imminent pain. Kuueru did mention it was not going to be fun, and therefore while still somewhat disoriented by his sudden appearance Cipher took hold of the flask. The Saiyan wondered for how long the man watched them, which was really sketchy but then again so was she. Shrugging her shoulders, she brought the flask to her lips and took a swig of liquor. Cynical as she was, she lacked paranoia and did not think it was poisoned or spiked with something silly. Why in Radia’s name would he do any of that? Well, she could think of a few reasons but, whatever he was drinking it, too. Remembering the request to pass it to the demoness, she finished her swig before handing it over to the pink-haired woman. Let it be known that Cipher enjoyed a large selection of vices, including drinking. “Alright…” The group had been officially reunited since their exploits during the unholy encounter, and Cipher was confused. Still, it did not dilute her eagerness. “I don’t mind, it’s a boon to have someone around in case something goes awry. Additionally, should we need to scavenge the supplies necessary for the transfiguration, an extra pair of hands can’t be a bad thing. And I did promise we’d catch up, can’t have my word lack credibility.” The tracings of a smirk spread across her lips. Cipher turned her attention from Raijin to Kuueru. “Maybe things like me turning a blind eye to you, regardless of what you intend on doing, would be within your realm of desires. But maybe you can think on what you want to request while we prepare for this ceremony? Where do we need to go and what do we need to find?”

Cipher’s face shifted constantly throughout Kuueru’s explanations. She felt as if she was talking the woman’s head off, but as the black haired woman chimed in; it was clear her interest was there. In fact, such a vigor filled the crimson pools that were her eyes. That, in turn, lit a fire in the demon’s soul. She craved the same yearning again, she had become stagnant in her progress without a clear goal to aim for; What she needed now was motivation. Kuueru cleared her throat quickly, a gentle breeze blew through the entrance and past their static frames.
At the talk of her boss Polaris, the look upon her face shifted. Wide-eyes and mouth agape the Saiyan sat; It became apparent however, Kuueru wasn’t there to harm Cipher; No--if she wanted that done, it would be done, and preferably by someone else’s hand. The demon didn’t need to get herself a bad rep around the galaxy, not yet at least. She needed to stay under wraps until she felt confident she could handle anything that came her way. For the first time in a long time, she felt that. However, after seeing the effort Raijin and Cipher put out against the demonic deities; she was ready to test her limits.
Perhaps Cipher would be the one to train her body with, maybe someone else? She needed someone to strive alongside of, and she knew that this woman possessed nearly the same strength as she.
“Watch my back huh? I’m not too worried about him in his castle alone to be frank,” Kuueru cleared her throat before shifting to her feet. Not that she was in a hurry, just uncomfortable and eager to explore the dusty dojo. She walked around some of the rooms idly while carrying on her conversation through the echoing corridors. Cipher was no doubt still listening, unless the woman decided to ignore her now that she wasn’t right in her face.
“So long as you’re content with that, whats------”
“Hello, ladies! You sound like you're up to something awfully naughty. Obviously you should've invited me!”
The familiar voice made her jerk her head to the side. She looked towards the nostalgic face with a devious grin. It was Raijin, the halfling shinjin whom she had made friends with. Unlike Cipher, she didn’t have to actively seek the man out. Instead, he had fallen into Lute’s lap, and she cleaned up loose ends. He had no worries of her goals of ‘shaking things up’, but at the same time...Kuueru couldn’t put into words what that really meant; or---if she even wanted that anymore.
“Raijin, you followed me,” Kuueru turned around to see Cipher stumbling to her feet in disbelief; to be honest she was a bit envious of the reaction she elicited for the man’s arrival. Though she never brought it up, or even thought this procedure would be something a person wanted; a lot of people carved demonic power---something, that was so innate to her. Her sullen purple eyes looked at her palm, not that that was her true skin---If anything, Kuueru hid her ancestry, out of fear.
The words of telepathy quickly entered her head. There were words of disappointment, worry, and envy. She shot the knife-ear an angry glance for invading her thoughts with such presumptions of his worth.
“You think I need you?” Kuueru scoffed, her arms were now folded over her chest and it’s various robes and tunics. She hated when someone assumed something about her, hearing it in her own head only furthered her rage. Her aura flared, tripling in intensity from his arrogant comments.
“Really…?”
The demoness shook her head and threw her hands into the air apathetically. It had appeared that Raijin invited himself, and Cipher didn’t have a care in the world. Just another for her to teleport, don’t worry---no extra energy or anything.
Raijin passed Cipher a flask, Kuueru chuckled and sensed her apprehension, however she still indulged despite the possible threat. The silver container was soon sent her way. She waved off the flask, electing to allow Raijin and Cipher to share; she didn’t need to be too inebriated to teleport eh?
Cipher mumbled a few words to Raijin about their reunion. Then, her attention was back on Kuueru; she had been standing there for a while allowing the pair to catch up.
“Eh, turn a blind eye or not. I’m still going to do it,” Kuueru mumbled towards the Saiyan before finding her way towards the door. The air in the room was dense with dust and allergens. She felt claustrophobic in there, especially with a third arrival. Though, this place was clearly meant to house way more.
“Erm. Needles and knives for blood-letting, I’ll need something from you, that your human half holds dear and near, Other things I have, like salts and incense for burning. Most of the work comes from the incantation and energy use, and less the sentimental things. Still having that connection, is necessary for the transfiguration." Demonic magic was not a science, and there would likely be some side-effects for the woman.
“Um---No sacrifices or anything, your pain and blood should be enough to fuel the fire,” Kuueru responded quietly. She was now out of the building and back into the overgrown grass. She patiently waited for the pair before taking them both by the shoulder. She wasn’t sure where they would head first, that was entirely dependant on where they would be able to find the supplies for Cipher. Only she knew what was needed.

Raijin clearly had been presumptuous in his aloof and carefree entry. His behavior had enraged Kuueru, if only for a moment, the demoness making it clear through the malicious size of her enflamed aura. Hm. Maybe next time he'd bite his tongue? Rai playfully bit his own tongue in his mouth to try it out. It didn't seem to have any effect on what he wanted to say.
Still, he fumbled something out that was sort of alright. “Blame the drink, blame the drink!”
Though she didn't believe she would need him, internally Rai felt as though she'd be thankful in the long run. Couldn't hurt to have a friend, right? Although, they had only shared one evening together, and it had ended in the cross-breed being a bit too quick to speak. This seemed to be a predicament he got himself into normally with Kuu, having off put her on two separate occasions. Rai made a mental note to at least try to tone it back. Perhaps he was too quick to consider himself friends with these types of people. After all, he was hardly in their league of strength. At least Cipher seemed to want to have him stick around, intent to allow him to watch the process.
She complained, too, about Polaris and his methods of betrayal. Raijin made a mental note to himself on this topic, having encountered the Emperor even before meeting Lute and Kuueru. He feared another encounter with the brutal Frost Demon, knowing that he had only loosely heeded his warning. Hopefully Rai had gained enough strength to be considered 'of worth.' If not to Polaris, than at least to Lute. They both had told Rai he would die if he could not prove his value to them in a short amount of time. Raijin wasn't the type to push himself while training, and though he had been putting in quite a bit of effort towards the beginning, he had come to believe he had gained worth on the field of battle. His skillset had expanded.
Yet, still the way that Kuueru addressed him did not make him feel particularly worthwhile.
Continuing to speak, the girl also offered Kuueru 'a blind eye' to her presumed misdeeds. Raijin felt that she was the type to do as she pleased, much like Raijin was. Anything like that may not hold value to a being such as that. No, in fact, Raijin would ask for much more if he was going to perform an action such as this. Loyalty. Money. Power. Something that would serve to directly benefit him. Taking another sip as the flask returned to him, he wasn't sure if the burning he felt in his gut signified his level of intoxication, or his fervent desire to gain something from this endeavor himself. Either way, he stifled the thought and regathered himself. The half-blood took a deep breath, eyes lazily dancing between the two females.
Rai was attentive as Kuueru began to list off things she would require for the ritual. Needles, knives... Blood. Something that he human side holds dear. Rai tried to recall something, anything that his human half held dear. He understood the strange dichotomy of being a mixed blood. The confusing and bastardizing nature of such a union as the one that sired the knife-ear had led to a similar feeling of confusion in the youth. Following Kuu outside, he reflected on this.
Why was there nothing he held dear?
Rai cycled through images and memories in his head, the crisis he was experiencing internally making him question himself further and further. There was no childhood nostalgia. Nothing but harsh memories and loneliness. The boy had raised himself, beyond the minimum of schooling he received before the age of nine. From there, his education was self-taught. He stole books and read and read, before beginning training himself. When he got a little older he started venturing into the city, quickly discovering that he was quite different from others. Not only did he have superior strength, but Rai's supernatural abilities had begun to manifest more incredibly at that age.
The hybrid shook his head, now in the overgrown area outdoors. His memory-filled stupor made him grow tired of the alcohol that was inebriating him in the moment. He burned some of it away with a familiar spell, ensuring it wouldn't continue to metabolize within his body. Rai closed his eyes as he prepared for Kuueru to whisk him away via her strange teleportation technique. She claimed he'd be capable of it someday, but lately Rai had begun to doubt it.
“If there's anything I can do to assist,” he mused, “Just say the word.”

The only thing Cipher witnessed was the aftermath—whatever means of communication the duo employed, or rather Raijin employed, could not be heard by the curious Saiyan. As Kuueru flared her aura fired her grievances the knife-ear’s way, Cipher tilted her head to the side and quirked her brow. Seeing the intense aura sent chills up her spine, her breathing hastening in response to the sight. Though she remained resolute and watched the interaction play out, she assured herself eliciting this woman’s ire would be ill-advised. As demonstrated with their former opponent, Shiva. The lack of words provided by the intruder reminded her of the means of conversation she could tap into. It aroused suspicion within her gut, only eased by the fact Kuueru seemed less that inclined to humour it. Incidentally, whatever Raijin communed to the demoness was something he did not want Cipher to hear. Kuueru and Cipher had just finished talking about the importance of secrets and how everybody chambered them within. In turn, the Saiyan did not bother to vent her curiosity through words. The only thing she could do was stay vigilant and keeping an eye on the halfing. Now that somebody else was present, exercising caution became a must. “What? But I’m adorable.” Cipher teasingly answered Kuueru’s disinterest with her current offer, blowing a kiss her way as she watched the demoness make her way to the door. In truth, it did not matter to her whether she exhibited interest in the favour. For Cipher, it just meant less angry teammates if they ever stumbled into a precarious encounter with Polaris and his immediate company. She wondered what the demoness might ask of her at the end of the process, but she decided to push those thoughts to the backburner. Whatever she wanted could not possibly be more treacherous than what she offered, anyway. Had her faith not been placed elsewhere, she might have liberated more personal interest in the demoness. Rather than annoying her, the way she carried herself appealed to her, topped off by the fact she had a decrepit liking for demons. The humanity in her heart still clung to some semblance of mortal ideals however, allowing her to supress any flirtatious inclination she harboured in her mind. Cipher pursued and exited the building alongside the demoness. When her soon to be demonic compatriot mentioned the things, they required for the insidious deed, she turned her cybernetic palm towards herself and stared at it. Kuueru mentioned needing something her human half held dear, and it fell under that category. In fact, she struggled to think of anything else that could be classified as an item that she regarded with an inkling of sentimental value. After hearing Kuueru’s subsequent words about the ceremony not requiring sacrifices, she felt a glimmer of relief regarding the integrity of her synthetic arm. “Well, I suppose all of the best things in life are ushered in with suffering as the primary reagent—this is no different.” She felt Kuueru claim her shoulder with her hand, and she turned an attentive crimson eye towards her while a sly smile played upon her lips. Having been subject to teleportation before, she guessed the means of travel worked on the same basis, just with less technology involved. That was good. The times it was induced by hardware, she was subjected to it botching and stranding her in random planets she had no interest in. “I’m excited, you know. It’s a bit of a thrill wondering what I shall become.” That is, the nature of her being, and what kind of powers she would be capable of enlisting as a result.

The room was eerily quiet after her outburst. Kuueru couldn’t help but feel awkward from it all. Perhaps she even felt a bit guilty for lashing out so much towards the Shinjin man. She wasn’t the type to lose her power, but insinuating that she needed his aid for some reason got under her skin. Regardless, the man was someone she considered a close friend and companion. He probably understood half of her more than anyone else in this plane. The holy within her heart even baffled the demoness at times, so having that in common was comforting.
Alas, Cipher still seemed adamant on pinpointing what Kuueru could possibly want in return for such a deed. Sure, turning a blind eye to her evil-doing was okay; but the woman wasn’t afraid of a fight, not even Lute himself. If he was to rip the head from her shoulders, it was because he had the power to. She couldn’t argue that fact, merely accept a fate of being weaker. The thought of defeat brought a metallic taste to her mouth, she soon realized she had bitten straight through her tongue.
It appeared she had held back much of her potential wrath in her earlier outburst towards Raijin--she could only imagine what it would seem like if she hadn’t. Shoulders slumped as she tried to shake her head and regain her lost composure. As she did cipher went over the checklist in her head, she was sure that Raijin did as well. Most of the items they lacked were easy enough to find, in fact---Kuueru knew just the place.
“Suffering is living, at least that’s my thought,” Kuueru retorted towards Cipher, “Raijin, come--maybe I’ll need you to hold her down or something…” A poor attempt at a joke to ease the mood. However, she felt the damage was already done. A placid sigh pressed from her lips as the pair joined her outside. Currently, she couldn’t feel more like a ‘party pooper’.
Alas, there was a task to be done. Her warm hand gripped onto either’s shoulders, CIpher even offered her own words of excitement towards the journey. At least someone was eager for the day!
“I’d be more afraid to be honest, I’m not sure of your demonic experience--but I hope it’s not too overwhelming and you lose your whole self. This will be a good deal of willpower in addition to your physical strength.”
The demoness lamented before looking to Raijin with a grin. She could still recant the first time he teleported; hell, she could remember all the times she traveled through space and time with her comrades. Usually all had wobbly knees and weak stomachs by the time they reached their destination. However, their first trip wasn’t too far away.
Their bodies disappeared from before the dojo and the blinding colors around them took its place. The trio hurled through time and space, and in a mere second they appeared outside of a drug store. It hustled and bustled with couponing mothers and people there to grab their monthly medications. Kuueru pushed her way through the automatic sliding doors and was soon greeted by a teenaged looking casher.
“Erm---hey?”
The pink haired woman awkwardly replied before cutting her way through the aisles. Sure she could have went to a hospital or medical supply store---if she knew of those. Most of her shopping experiences had been in restaurants and gas stations. Mm, those gas station hot dogs were a guilty pleasure late at night.
The demoness ultimately ended up at the ‘pick-up’ counter of the pharmacy behind an elderly woman that was taking too long for her impatient self. She asked the pharmacist in his white lab coat a good two-dozen questions that she would most likely forget the answer to before she made it out of the store. Kuueru rolled her eyes before her time finally came.
“Um---I need some 15 gauge needles---” An odd request, that size was large---not normally used by diabetics for insulin---or the intravenous drug users. The man at the counter shot her an odd look, for she didn’t appear to be the usual tweaking meth head.
“Sorry, we don’t sell those without a prescription actu---”
“I...didn’t ask you if you did,” Kuueru cleared her throat and shot the man a threatening glance, “Look----I can pay you, or we can make this difficult and ---erm. Uncomfortable.”
Kuueru glanced at the worried looking technicians scurrying behind the counter; they appeared unsure on if they should call the police or not---still, the man went to the back of the pharmacy to search-- or to hide.
Minutes passed that felt like eternity, however he soon returned and rang up the syringes. A mere few bucks, yet he gave her such a hassle. Wouldn’t it be funny if she killed a successful man over a few zeni? Alas, he even bagged the items before she paid and ran towards the door. Not bothering to pay she grabbed a box of alcohol pads for sanitation reasons before grabbing onto the reaching shoulders once more.
“Cipher, you already have your item on you? If so--- we can head there,” Kuueru paused warningly and looked towards Raijin, “I’m worried about how Hollows energies will affect the two of you, especially you Rai--let me know if you feel odd from it, I don’t want anything bad to happen.”

The sobering spell Raijin had utilized earlier had taken a further effect on him. The halfbreed couldn't help but laugh as he realized Kuueru would've never seen him like this. In fact, even Cipher had seen him as he had a little bit of a buzz on. Also, back then his magic had been much less potent. Lately, since his recent surge in strength he felt his mental state waning. The only times he really felt in control was during his states of intense, month long inebriation. Yes, this would be a very different experience for Raijin. But this was a crisis of identity. It was the least good kind of feeling to have while tripping, drinking, or just being high. It's the type of shit that can really rip a person open, and despite his mannerisms and bizarre persona he was still a teenager.

Kuu said that, and followed with a joke. It was like Rai's life, in a way. Dark, yet filled with humor. The youth smiled, but his smile seemed dull compared to its' normal glow. The reality of their current situation had sobered him even more than his spell. As well as his current situation in life. He was associating with demonic forces. The half-blood's smile almost returned as he wondered if that was what his father would've done.
Cipher seemed excited for her change, enthralled by the concept of altering herself. It was an extreme procedure. Someday, Rai may need to get stronger, very quickly. He intended to compile a few methods, perhaps whip up one of his own. To be frank, Raijin didn't understand his magical abilities as well as he'd like to lead others to believe. Kuu urged the Saiyan to be more scared of the transformation, the Demoness warning her of the dangers once more. Rai found it humorous that she was in her 'human' disguise, pink hair and all, talking about the demonic transfiguration.
Kuueru grinned at the youthful Shinjin hybrid. A moment later they were ripped from their spot and tossed through space and time, exploding and reforming elsewhere. Outside a pharmacy. Raijin felt temptation arise, and nearly chose to raid the place of its' strongest pain medicine and a few muscle relaxants. A few clouds gathered above him, and a few droplets of rain came down as the youth put his hands in his pockets. The demoness entered the building, presumably gathering up supplies. Rai didn't even want to go in.
A voice inside of him, a hunger of sorts spoke to him. The voice of temptation. He closed his eyes to prevent them from going wild as he raised his head, feeling the rain drops on him. The rain rarely ever touched him. Usually the clouds would part just to keep him dry. For some reason, he let them fall on him. If he thought about it, the only thing he had ever felt akin to were the clouds. The freedom in such an image floating in the sky, free to condense and rage and go wherever it pleased. That was why Raijin coveted the teleportation spell, the same spell he felt his body had adapted to rather quickly. Perhaps it was his genetic disposition towards the ability that allowed his body to accept the shift in molecules. Or perhaps it was his disposition towards narcotics and depressants and... Well, any sort of inebriating substance.
The youth finally gathered the courage to enter the building, stepping out of the rain and into the store. Kuu had just finished her shopping and came up to him, holding a bunch of needles and various medical supplies. This was going to be interesting, at least. Rai had never been in a place like this for any reason but to buy something questionable. He felt his skin crawl as he glanced at the shoddy lighting, and felt the scent of the building sting his nostrils. The Demoness warned them of the area they were going to, and its' effect on beings such as them.
Feel odd from it? So, he tried to sober up and now he was going to go on another mind altering bender. It was apparent that Kuu recalled his brief moment of madness when the pair had been drinking together, followed by his pledge to her. One he still intended to live by. As mad as it seemed, it also seemed he was right. She was like a cloud too. Or, a storm. Whichever she preferred. But the thing about clouds is that they follow the wind.
Seemed the wind was blowing towards a dark horizon. The youth swallowed, steeling himself as he placed his hands in his pockets. At times like this he wished he had more weed. This was going to be a real trial for him, if it was to test his mental stability. It was hardly there as of late. The drinking was to keep his thoughts in check- or at least that's what he told himself.
“Worried about me, huh?” he asked, some of the color returning to his face. “Don't worry, if anything you could easily put me out of my misery.”
He flashed his signature grin, wishing he had a stiff drink. Why did he have to choose to stay sober on this trip? He looked around the drug store one more time, sighing. Could've been a good night for a robbery...
'Let's get out of here, before I start grabbing things off the shelves. I don't think the 'Hollows' would be able to withstand me on a real drug binge. If I can manage to move about in a state like that, imagine the destruction I could cause!” Rai waved his hand ceremoniously across the air, as if it was to represent the situation in some way. If it wasn't obvious he used humor as a coping mechanism, it should be now. The half-blood closed his eyes again, laughing quietly to himself, smile still stretching from knife-ear to knife-ear.

In Cipher’s eyes, Kuueru made an accurate proclamation—she equated suffering with living. As the Saiyan learned over the span of her life, that was the case. In addition to most living entities being en route to death the moment they are born; the nature of the universe was a lot less cheerful than optimists would like to believe. The strong—be it through physical brawn or another bountiful resource—prevailed, and those who did not obtain power were livestock, left to be consumed as the strong saw fit. It was a dog-eat-dog universe. Knowing that, she nodded in response while refraining from adding any more commentary on the subject. The pink-haired demoness ushered in a joke thereafter, making Cipher produce a sour laugh in response. In truth, she imagined the entire situation was going to suck. The ritual meant to go into her very composition, alter her physiology in ways she could not fathom. It exceeded the realm of comprehension; it was no mere parlour trick where you snapped your fingers and poof, the humanity was pruned from her at will. A part of her—namely half of her—was being erased and replaced with insidious, demonic flesh and genes. And yet, she found it difficult to contain her excitement. She balanced on the precipice of masochism with the notion, but it was not quite the same; there was a reward in tow for her imminent hardship. “I’m not dumb enough to think that this isn’t going to be a horrible experience, but I’d like to think I wouldn’t have gotten this far without a great amount of willpower and resilience to pain. I’ll have you know I like, change colour when I get angry now.” She jested in response to Kuueru’s cautionary words, but under the layer of frivolity lay a wary mind. It could kill her, yes, but she really wanted it. The stronger she was, the more freedom she had, and strength came with a cost of its own. Cipher was not lying about changing colours when she got angry, either. Since her emotional metamorphosis, she started almost blowing away half of her actual residence whenever she stubbed her toe. Inconveniences of being a Saiyan and all. Once again, her mind was riddled with thoughts about how horrible teleportation could be. She just had a myriad of awful experiences with the art, even if those times were induced by technological failures. Being more anxious about getting sick, being translocated into another nightmare planet or a sudden fight to the death with its inhabitants than the transformation she intended to go through was a definite feature. As Kuueru claimed her shoulder with her hand, the warmth eased her a little bit, but she might haven noticed Cipher was a little tense. Little did she know, she was on her way to trusting magic a lot more than machinery. Sure, the last time she teleported she was not fazed much by it—but she was transformed, extremely angry, and had just finished beating in someone’s head until it resembled abstract art. Right now, she was in her base form and finished lazing around in a dusty-ass dojo. Cipher frowned, not a frown filled with malice, but one laden with uneasiness. “I have a bad feeling—”She had the misfortune of saying her words right when they were teleported to a different location. An incomprehensible palette of colours whirled around, encapsulated within a mere second, before they appeared in a different location. Nausea bore its way into her stomach, her countenance appearing a little pale after the event. Cipher still felt as though her likes had the consistency of jelly, but she managed to stay resolute unlike the other times. She recalled one time being sucked into an unpleasant spatial rift and being shot out like a cannon. “It—It’s like a rollercoaster, but the entire experience at once…” She croaked, rubbing her forehead with her hand. Even her brown tail drooped until the tip rested against the ground. Guiding her attention towards Raijin, she noted that there were… clouds? Clouds were forming above his head and it was raining on him. She raised her index finger and opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, paused, furrowed her brow in confusion, and then just gave up and walked into the store alongside Kuueru. “So, I’ll just take this, and that…” While the demoness carved a path through the drug store’s denizens, Cipher swiped a few things out of the aisles in question. A bag of chips—she would have the luxury of encountering the teenaged cashier because of this purchase—and over the counter medicine for nausea. If she wanted to not expose the content of her stomach with each consecutive use of their quick means of transportation, then she needed to be prepared. She wanted to snatch a can of soda, but refrained because then she would be carrying too many things on her person. From heroin to steroids, she wondered what kind of thing the pharmacist thought Kuueru was into when she asked for 15 gauge needles. More importantly, she wondered what in the literal hell she was going to do to her that involved needles. The Saiyan was not afraid of needles, but as she could not process what they were for, her thoughts of the ceremony were becoming a lot more warped. Unless they were for after the ritual and they all intended to have extracurricular fun. With the smell of weed fresh on him, Lord knows Raijin would be all for it. Rather than being appalled by the conversation transpiring between the pharmacist and the demoness, she seemed entertained and fairly allured by the illustrated ferocity. It just reinforced that the things the Saiyan talked about earlier about her personal philosophies and status as the black sheep of her group were true. “She’s uh, probably not joking, you know.”During the time Kuueru waited for the needles, Cipher purchased her chips and meds before swinging back outside. She had some idle, awkward conversation with the teenager but it was not worthy of note. She now carried a small white bag containing the whopping two things she bought. Pulling the top off her bottle of relief, she popped a pill into her mouth and swallowed it without the aid of a drink. It lacked the immediate stomach soothing effects of ginger, but it would work. Looking back towards the demoness, she nodded. “It’s my cybernetic arm, yep. As cool as playing the one-armed fighter card is…” She said, scratching the side of her head. It was more than that, however—it was given to her by someone very close, crafted specifically for her and adjusted over time. More bad news descended upon them, and while Raijin took it with a grain of salt, Cipher seemed both curious and wary of a force she never heard of before. “Hollow energies?” The Saiyan sounded a little less confident about it, seeing as she knew nothing about it. In her experience, underestimating forces she did not know anything about was a bad idea. “Anything I should expect from it in particular?"

They group had successfully made their way to the local drug store to collect the bare necessity of items required to complete the ritual. Kuueru had never performed such a task, but Hachi had mentioned use of the magic in the past. She had also diligently read all the grimoires and tomes to learn the ritual. Hell, she even had one of them tucked away on the planet of Hollow. Hopefully all went well, thought Kuueru was a chaotic demon who only wanted to watch the weak burn--she had grown close to the Saiyan hybrid in the few short meetings they had. Her compassion was outweighing her greed to terminate weaklings in the world.
However, if there was anyone who could handle the process; it would be her. She watched both the woman and Raijin defeat literal Gods before her. Though they seemed to struggle, they both had increased in power exponentially since their meetings with Shiva. Kuueru couldn’t help but produce a smile at the thought of her disturbance pushing the pair to grow in power. That was her aim afterall. To garner an entire army of demons to push humanity to the brinks. To weed out the weak and bring the strongest to an new level. Though her way about the task was a bti cruel, it had to be. She knew that Cipher understood this, but she wondered if the Shinjin agreed with her harsh methods?
Speaking of, the boy was rather quiet after her outburst---perhaps this was him in sobriety, perhaps she had hurt his feelings. Either way, a demon shouldn’t worry herself with others---yet she did. She was troubled at the thought of bothering someone she considered a comrade and friend.
Cipher had grabbed a few things from the store as well, it seemed that the teleportation did upset her stomach a tad. It was a bit expected. Raijin however had the anatomy built for such a technique. As she mentioned earlier, most of his kind had use of the ability of teleportation, perhaps that was his reasoning for not being doubled over in a trash bin.
After a bit of joking from the demoness Raijin seemed to have a bit of color return to his face. She returned the sly grin and nodded. “Yes, I am worried about you. Both of you frankly.”
The woman cleared her throat as she thought back to the last person she had brought to Hollow. Despite them being a majin the dark energies had such a negative effect on their bodies they had to leave immediately. The poor pink creature, Khoshai, could barely balance or stand on his own two feet. A wild dizziness plagued his head as he fought to adjust like a goldfish in the wrong temperature of water. She knew Raijin was half human and half Shinjin, this worried her---However, Cipher was also mortal, it was troublesome---but she thought they both had good enough energy control to negate the negative effects that would ligner in their bodies.
“Cybernetic? Huh? I barely noticed it wasn’t...your own,” Kuueru mumbled as the woman mentioned the item that was near and dear to her. Her eyes squinted as she took in the appearance of the limb.
“Oh yeah, the energies---it’s very similar to the demon realm---if you’ve….ever..” Kuueru stopped mid-sentence, it was a rarity that a person would actually want to travel to the demonic place. Hell, she had spent nearly a millennium trying to escape. Yet, now she could go to and from with the power she had gained since being in the mortal plane. Sometimes she would travel back to train in the rich energy-filled environment, but with Hollow she didn’t need to anymore.
“So--hollow is a direct link to the demon realm, almost like a rift. I’m sure you remember the witch who brought those demonic deities into the realm to begin with. She trained on Hollow as an Aetherguard. That is where she perfected her skills. She traveled to the demon realm, but unfortunately was not strong enough to return. I aided her escape and she granted me the information about the planet. Me and a demon clan Namekian named Lute killed the Triumvirate of wizar--”
A concerned looking soccer mom and her children walked past the odd trio as they continued their shopping trip.
“A---As I was saying, we killed the rulers of Hollow and claimed it as our own. It will be the place for our future armies, out base, and our home.” Kuueru cleared her throat.
“The last person that I allowed to enter the place, didn’t do so well. It’s an overwhelming and tempting evil, perhaps even more concentrated than that of the Demon Realm itself.”
Kuueru warned before grabbing the pair by the shoulders and affirming once more they were ready. Then, like before they were back in the travels of space and time. This time, it was a much longer travel, despite still being instant in the real world.
The cacophony of multiple conversations blasted through their heads. Every single voice speaking in the universe formed the odd and deafening chorus and soundtrack for their journey. It took a few minutes, and then everything froze. They appeared high above the city, a burnt and decrepit palace marking the center of the hidden metropolis. Lavish gardens and shopping districts littered the land. All in all it seemed like a pleasant place to live, besides the tremendous pressure their weight on a person’s body as they entered.
Kuueru floated down towards the palace, Lute was away so the entirety of the architecture was up for their play. The heels of her brown leather boots clacked against the marbled floors that even started outside of the palace. Whoever lived their before Lute and her lived lavishly, they also kept their citizens shrouded from the outside world. How they kept the secret for this long was amazing.
“Welcome to Hollow, how do you both feel?” Kuueru looked back at them with worried purple orbs.
