And the ISP is taking forever to send someone to fix it. I'm hoping they'll have it in by tomorrow. Not just because I wanna get back to posting, but because I don't wanna get FIRED.
So hopefully, they'll get to it tomorrow. If not, well, I'm sorry. :<

11 days now. STILL no fix. They keep saying they're working on it on their side cuz fiberop cables are iffy or something. I've not seen a single ISP truck in my area for that long. I'm skulking around at a Starbucks for wifi just to get my work done, so I can't really get on the site. No idea when this crap is going to get resolved. It's alright if you guys want to turn in whatever threads you have with me. We can always pick up where we left off when I get back. Really sorry, guys. taekotaiga Andrew C. Day 18. Still nothing. They called me up once to tell me something I already knew. That is to say, the status is "for assignment to technician in your area". They haven't shown up yet.
First hour of Starbucks wifi is free. Seems like they use it to clear out tables for new customers. If the wifi leeches leave after an hour, that's more vacancies for paying customers. So I struck a deal with the management. Since I plan to stay long term, each time I make an order, they give me another hour to go with it. Of course it's Starbucks, so each order isn't cheap.
I got a yuge rebate from the ISP. Problem is, I think my expenses are bigger compared to having normal Fiberop rates. Why? Because I have to order at Starbucks each hour. *sigh*

Day 25: I called and now I'm hearing that there's a shortage of technicians in my province, and that they'll probably send someone from the Capital region. Sure, they're working on the problems on their side, but not a peek of a technical truck. This is getting ridiculous. Atreus Me too. I technically 'live' at this Starbucks now. Hoax It's likely a cartel. There are like only two big ISPs here. Prices are probably fixed, and the service is a joke. But this company is, as someone once put it, "the best of the worst". There's nothing better.

So now I know what the problem is... Apparently last 1 June, the President ordered the Department of Labor to terminate all contract workers in order to facilitate some campaign promise about full regularization. As a result, everyone else is suffering due to the lack of employees from various privately run utilities. The big ISP is one of them. There's only one tech doing all the work in a 10-mile radius of my place. The ISP's local office even cut down its workweek to Tuesday through Thursday, because on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, they have to staff the office in a city further up north. It's that bad. Of course I should consider myself lucky. This one lady lost power around the same time as I lost my Fiberop cable, and nobody's come to repair their lines in a month, since the power company was also affected. Probably also explains why my replacement ATM card is taking forever. The banks have also been whacked. All in all, I can't fault these guys. So I guess all I can do is wait. If you're considering turning in any threads with me, go ahead. Not sure how much longer I'll be out. Best case scenario is it's resolved by the 21. taekotaiga Andrew C. Still nothing. I'm trying to work out a deal with the Starbucks management, see if I could just pay a daily flat fee for unrestricted access to their network. At least without having to worry about hourly payments, I might be able to spend some time on discord.
I really miss you guys. Hoping this mess gets fixed soon.
